Chapter 6 You Are Indeed an Ethical Doctor
"Get lost!" Rachel roared angrily and intimidatingly with her arms akimbo.
"These scumbags who bully others in packs!" she cursed inside.
They did not know what to say.
Troy, whom Rachel was protecting, looked at her small head and saw her standing before him, adopting an extremely aggressive posture. His eyes shone with mockery. He did not expect this girl, who had once begged him for help, to be so bold now.
How interesting.
Troy looked up. His gaze swept across his three bodyguards. The three of them were stunned for a moment, then turned on their heels and ran away.
Rachel did not know what to say.
"Were they frightened by my intimidating manner?" she wondered.
She heaved a sigh of relief. Luckily, these men were afraid of her, or she might have been assaulted as well. She patted her chest with her small hand. Before she could turn her head, someone suddenly pulled her collar. Losing her balance, Rachel took a step back and fell into Troy's arms. At that moment, she found it all a little familiar.
Rachel raised her head, somewhat baffled. Her eyes met his dark, narrow, and profound eyes. Endlessly mesmerizing, they seemed to be drawing her in. For a moment, Rachel forgot herself.
Troy was very pleased with her reaction. He leaned against the car door, arching his back slightly, and inched close to Rachel's small stunned face. He caressed her cheek with his big palm, his gaze turning more profound. "Didn't I tell you to wait for me? Why did you run away, hmm?"
His voice was so seductive that her heart started to thump erratically. Rachel's brain buzzed as his voice crept into her ears.
Her mind screamed, "No, no! It doesn't make sense at all!"
"You must have mistaken me for someone else, sir!" Rachel pushed the man away and took two steps back.
She had pushed him away suddenly. Troy let out a muffled groan. His eyes turned cold. He thought, "So, this girl did not remember me at all!
"Good, very good!"
Rachel saw that pale look on his face, as well as his chest wound still trickling with blood. She immediately walked over and helped him up. "Shall I help you upstairs and dress your wound? If you don't treat it now, it may get infected."
Troy looked at Rachel's small face and put his arm on her shoulder. As his arm pressed down on her shoulder, her back arched and she almost tottered. Fortunately, she was quite strong and managed to steady herself. She did not know if he had meant to act in this way.
They entered Rachel's office. She asked the man to sit on a chair and took out the medical equipment in a professional manner. "You need to undo your buttons, sir. Let me examine your wound. Do you need me to give you an injection to numb the pain, and stitch your wound?"
Troy did not respond, nor did he appear to be unbuttoning his shirt. His expression was very cold.
Rachel came over with the stitching instruments. She thought that he was embarrassed as she glanced at his face and buttons. She patted her chest sternly and said, "Don't worry. Although you are very good-looking, I'm an ethical doctor. I won't do anything immoral to you! I know it's against the law!"
Troy was at a loss for words.
Troy fixed his sharp and penetrating gaze on her for a moment, like she was totally naked, sending a shiver down her spine. She wondered if she had saved some arrogant good-for-nothing.
"It's okay not to unbutton your shirt. I'll help snip the shirt around the wound." Rachel was a professional doctor. She went to Troy with a pair of scissors and was just about to snip his shirt when he grabbed her slender arm. The man's palm was so scorching hot that her wrist felt singed.
"Hey, you, you..." Rachel started to stammer. "Why did you grab my arm?"
A thought flashed across her mind. "Does this guy want to rape me because I'm pretty?"
"Unbutton the shirt for me!" There was a touch of laziness and danger in Troy's voice.
Rachel was stunned, unable to speak.
"My shirt is very expensive. It costs more than $2,000!"
Rachel was speechless.
"Dammit!" Rachel was cursing inside. "So what if it costs more than $2,000? You're
a big shot, huh?"
"I'm saving your life!" Rachel clenched her teeth.
The man looked at her apathetically and said, "Well, I'll repay you."
Rachel was at a loss for words.
"Why do these words sound so familiar?" she wondered.
Rachel shook her head and thought to herself, "I've saved a weirdo today. Just as well. I'll send this man away as soon as possible. I don't know where Angie is, but I have to find her!"
As she pondered, she inched toward the man and touched his neck with her fingers. He must have been a conceited man who practiced sexual abstinence. His buttons were all done up to the collar. As soon as she undid the first button, she found her eyes straying. The man was wounded, and there was the stench of blood on his body. At the same time, there was the cold, mellow smell of tobacco. This smell made Rachel, who was always indifferent to men, a little nervous. When she examined his neck after undoing the first button, his protruding Adam's apple looked oh-so-sexy.
She undid the second button...
Rachel gasped as she saw the man's muscular pecs. From this alone, she could already imagine the bulging contours and definitions of his body.
"Well ... um ..." Rachel avoided his eyes. His manly odor was so strong, she was not quite used to it. She wanted to ask him to undo the rest of the buttons himself. Before she could finish speaking, however, Troy had interrupted her in a teasing and languorous voice. "You're an ethical doctor."
She did not know what to say.
