Chapter 7 007
IRIS POV
“You knew?” I asked, completely shocked.
“Yes, you shouldn't be surprised. You should know that your victim's living family will always come for you. Isn't that how it is?”
“ He didn't do it. I swear.”
“So you brought me here to tell me that you know about my father. You have got to be kidding me. And well, suck my dick because I won't do anything you want just because you know about it.
Because I know your type. Find out secrets like this to make do whatever you want. Not happening,” I said, poking his chest with my fingers with a straight look on my face.
He smirked at me while looking at my finger on his chest like I had said the most amusing thing he had ever heard.
“It's called manipulation. And no, I'm not doing that.”
“Then get the fuck away from me.”
“I love the fire you have in you. It's perfect because I'm going to quench it.
Now if we could move on. You would have to get married to me, for three years. Give me an heir and I would think about letting go of you and clearing the records,” He offered, speaking like he didn't hear what I just said.
“Did you just hear what I said?”
“Yes.”.
“Then why are you still speaking about your plans? I won't do it, I ain't doing it. Read my kips, I won't!”
“Or you would. Impatient and you didn't bother to listen to my next speech. Call it blackmail or whatever, but if you don't. Then I would ruin everything you have built.
Would you like that, fiery viper?” He asked, taking steps impossibly closer until my heaving boobs were directly on his chest.
I took another back immediately. I noticed our intimate position, but for each step I took. He took three more until I couldn't move anymore.
“Umm. You need to move back, you are uncomfortably too close and I hate you so I'm twice as irritated with the physical contact,” I whispered, panting softly.
I haven't been this close to any male aside Rowan, and he was a different case entirely.
My best friend.
“Why? Am I unsettling you or lies you told to protect your now late father? Or both actually,” he asked, intentionally pricking a nerve to weaken my defense.
“Why are you doing this?” I asked, tears forming at the back of my throat. I was choking internally.
I wouldn't cry here, not with him, not when I knew he was enjoying my pain.
“Get out!’ I yelled, quivering now.
“Why did you do it? That's not in your profile and from what I have searched for, you haven't covered a single case. So why did you?
Did he force you?” He asked.
“He didn't. Don't do that,” I snapped, and I walked away from the lab ignoring his call as tears were already dropping from my eyes.
“You shouldn't do that if I were you. Because I would press this button right here and everything would be exposed.
Now you would have to come back here like the good girl that you are. Right?” Vale said, looking at me with the same good looking smile on his face.
I stopped on my tracks as his wurd, if there was one thing plastered st the back of my head. Then it should be that Vale Creed never give a fake promise.
“What do you want?” I asked, standing on my tip toes. He was close, yeah, exactly how he had been few hours ago.
“A kiss.”
Audacious!
“What? You have got to be kidding me!” I yelled, but he remained unfazed.
“I'm waiting.”
My phone vibrated ruining my crying session. No caller ID.
Not weird for my line of occupation, actually I had calls like this alot. Daily actually, threats warning me not to go on whatever case I have in hand.
“Hello. Miss Iris.” A deep voice said, not a question. But carefully and straight to the point.
“Yes.”
“Your friend Rowan is here with me. Well, half dead, and he wouldn't be for long. If you want him alive, cancel case 567. If not, proceed.”
And the call ended. Not another word, but that was enough to instill fear into me.
Can this day get any more worse?
I bent on my steering wheels hitting my head repeatedly, when I heard a knock on my car's win
dow.
“What do you want….oh. officer,” I stuttered.
Yeah I was trying so hard to catch my breath and wiping my eyes even though I was certain I looked like a piece of shit. Definitely look like one too.
“You have got a ticket for parking in a prohibited environment even after being warned.”
Yeah, it did.
