Chapter 7
"Mr. Mason Martinez, what are you doing here?" The maid called out, her face pale.
Mason Martinez?
Amelia thought to herself. She remembered Mason; he was the third child of the Martinez family and her younger brother.
He was also a well-known model, a regular at major fashion shows, exuding an aura that made any outfit look high-end. He was like a walking model. She had seen him trending on social media just a few days ago for spending a fortune on a beautiful streamer, dropping hundreds of thousands of dollars in a single day.
Mason in front of her bore a resemblance to her, with the same narrow eyes, but he had a head of bright red curls, giving him a slightly rebellious look.
Mason replied, "Of course, I'm here. How else would I witness such an interesting scene? It seems like the Martinez family has spoiled you all. Go see the butler to get your severance pay and leave."
Mason's voice was cold. After speaking, he turned to Amelia.
Mason said, "Mom's calling you. Come with me."
He lazily slipped one hand into his pocket and took long strides forward, occasionally glancing back at Amelia.
The living room was still a mess.
It had been too late last night, and to avoid disturbing Mabel, Chase had specifically instructed the maids not to clean up until today.
Mason said, "Look at you, making a mess as soon as you get home. Are these things yours?"
There were some scattered items by the staircase, things Amelia had deliberately taken out of her room this morning.
She didn't like having random things cluttering her room, so she had taken them out.
Mason continued, "I'm not saying you're incapable, Amelia, but you sure know how to act like a spoiled princess, turning the house upside down and throwing things around. I think the title of 'Demon' suits you best."
Amelia looked up at Mason, who was almost two heads taller than her, and slowly asked, "Do you know the saying 'the eldest sister is like a mother'?"
"Yeah, I know," He nodded instinctively, then almost immediately got angry. "What do you mean? Mom's right there."
Amelia replied, "I'm just telling you, no matter what, I'm your elder sister. So, let me give you a piece of advice: remember this, elder sister's business..."
Amelia pointed to herself, a slight smile on her lips. "Elder sister's business is none of your concern. What I do is not for you to comment on. Got it?"
This Amelia was quite something.
Mason rubbed his chin, thinking to himself. He had sensed it in the garden earlier, and now he felt it even more. His sister had a sharp tongue, always ready with a comeback.
She was just like Bianca.
It looked like there will be more dramas to watch.
"Sister..." He drew out the words, his eyes full of amusement. "Don't worry, I won't bother with the junk you threw out, but someone else will."
Mason sat on the couch, legs crossed, looking like he was ready to enjoy the show.
Amelia was momentarily stunned, not quite understanding, when she heard a noise from upstairs.
Bianca said, "Grandma, you have to talk to Amelia. I don't care if she throws her own things away, but how could she throw away the necklace you gave me for my eighteenth birthday? It means so much to me. I love that necklace, but if Amelia really wants it, I'll give it to her."
Mabel replied, "Give it to her? No way. You're my favorite granddaughter. That necklace was a special gift from me to you. How could you give it away? This Amelia is really something, causing chaos as soon as she returns to the Martinez family."
Mabel was livid. If Bianca hadn't been supporting her, she might not have made it down the stairs.
The elderly woman and the young girl slowly descended the stairs, seemingly talking, but really just to mock Amelia.
Amelia glanced at Mason, understanding his meaning. He had known these two would make a fuss.
Mabel added, "Some people are just small-minded, coming from the countryside, wanting to take everything they see. Truly short-sighted."
Mabel slowly made her way down, feeling her blood pressure rise at the sight of Amelia. "Amelia, return Bianca's necklace immediately. Didn't your grandmother teach you not to touch things that aren't yours? It seems the grandmother who raised you wasn't much either."
Her words were full of disdain.
Amelia hated it when anyone mentioned Evelyn. She remembered Evelyn's words, took a deep breath, but couldn't help herself. "Bianca, come here and tell me why your things were in my room."
Bianca, holding onto Mabel's arm, froze. She looked up, her eyes full of grievance and confusion. "I don't know. The maid told me you threw away a lot of things this morning, including a necklace. I lost my necklace yesterday, so I thought..."
Her eyes flickered, and she pointed at Mason and said, "Mason was there too. I'm not lying."
Mason uncrossed his legs and stopped smirking. "I heard about the things being thrown away, but I didn't hear what exactly. I was just passing by."
Amelia walked over, grabbed Bianca by the neck, and pulled her head down, dragging her to the pile of things, then let go.
Bianca, unsteady, almost fell. The wound on her neck from the previous day reopened, causing her to tear up from the pain.
"Amelia! What are you doing?" Mabel was shocked and panicked.
Amelia said, "She said I threw away the necklace. Let her find it. Everything's here. If she can't find it, she can keep looking."
Amelia looked innocently at Mabel, her expression pure.
She then looked down at Bianca, making her go through everything. In the end, there was no necklace.
Amelia continued, "I didn't throw away any necklace. I don't care about your things. Don't come looking for trouble. You're just a usurper. If I ignore you, don't come looking for trouble. A fake is a fake. Don't meddle in my affairs."
"You..." Mabel was furious, her eyes red.
Amelia said, "Didn't you say you'd rather die than stay in this house with me? Why haven't you gone yet?"
Mabel was so angry she was shaking, her legs unsteady, her head spinning as she almost collapsed.
Amelia instinctively rushed to support Mabel. She didn't like her, but she didn't want any deaths on her hands just yet.
But someone was faster.
A girl with a bun rushed over and caught Mabel, preventing her from falling.
