Chapter 5 5
I was running, but my pace was slow compared to other times. I looked down to see that I was in heels and was wearing a deep flowing velvet black dress.
I held on to the sides of my dress, lifting it above the ground so I could run, but whatever was chasing me was ultimately faster than I was.
“Run, run as fast as you can, but you can't hide from the love of your life.” The voice came from all around me, I looked around but it was only the dark of night that was present.
As I kept running in the darkness, I saw a faint light upfront and immediately rushed towards it.
This time a man with large curled horns came out of the light, and he gave me a bouquet of pink roses.
“Come to me.” He cooed, stretching out his hand, his voice felt hypnotic and I began moving closer to him step by step.
When I stretched my hands out to take his, something pulled me from behind back into the darkness.
I jumped out of bed, looking around frantically. I was no longer in my small London apartment. Instead I was on a king size bed in a very large bedroom.
Changing my location didn't stop me from having nightmares apparently.
I looked outside the window and there was daylight, but the sun wasn't bright yellow. It seemed more like it was setting, with its golden glow and pink orange sky.
Back home I would have already gone for my usual morning jog to clear my head. Then come back to my apartment and prepare for a tedious day at school.
I wondered if my classmates would notice my absence, or if they would figure out that the vampires took me.
It was midweek and I usually took time off work to visit my sick mother.
My poor mother would be so worried if she didn't see me, what if it made her health worse? Was Dracleon being serious about helping my mother and brother? I hoped Kaidrin wouldn't do anything silly while I was away.
Thinking about all the possibilities of things that could happen, made me feel sick. I fell back on my bed and strands of my hair stuck on my face again.
Lord Dracleon.
I immediately recalled last night, how he blew my hair away from my face and then licked the blood off my lips.
My cheeks heated up immediately at the thought of the action.
“Don't bleed in a den of vampires.” I mocked, mimicking his voice.
I didn't bleed intentionally, he was the one that made my whole body overheat so much. Why did he have to be so handsome and intimidating?
He probably wasn't as cruel as he looked, if he hadn't drained me of every drop of blood existent in my body then maybe he wasn't so bad. Hopefully.
My mind was in a mess of thoughts that I didn't hear someone walk into the bedroom.
“Arggg.” Billie yelped in pain, jumping away from the shards of glass that I scattered at the entrance.
“I am so sorry, so so sorry.” I apologized, feeling very bad as she bled and struggled to pull the pieces from her feet.
“What in the name of Nyxia is this?”
“I am sorry.”
“You think a little glass would stop Vampires from attacking you and sucking you dry?” Billie mocked staring at me with cold eyes.
I still felt bad but I didn't like her mocking tone, "It wasn't meant for you. Zavier threatened me last night, so I did this to protect myself. It would give me enough time to dash out before he could suck me dry."
“Lord Zavier is a knight, human silly tricks like this would only amuse him.”
I rolled my eyes saying nothing more. I watched as Billie's wounds closed up themselves and looked as if they weren't there in the first place.
Fast healing, teleportation and speed. They were inhuman.
“At least you're not a weakling, I give you that.” Billie complimented “But you didn't have to break the beautiful vase.”
“I apologize.” I said, trying to hide the smile that tugged at my lips.
She shook her head filled with beautiful black and midnight blue hair, before clapping her hands. Immediately a team of servants cleaned up the mess and another brought me breakfast.
Breakfast in bed? That was so princessy.
I hadn't eaten last night because I didn't trust the food but now I was terribly starving and immediately dug in.
It all tasted good, so so good. Better than anything I had ever tasted, it felt as though my taste buds had been dead all these years and suddenly resurrected by good food.
I didn't realize that I had been moaning and doing little dances as I ate.
“I am glad you like the food here.” Dracleon's voice came as a surprise and I almost choked on what I was eating.
In a flash he was beside me gently rubbing my back, until I was able to swallow food properly.
I looked towards the direction of the servants in the room and they were completely awestruck that he had done that, just as I was.
“Sip some water.” He lifted the glass up to my lips and I took a few sips from it while staring at him to see if I could read his intentions yet again but he was unreadable.
He dropped the glass without a word and gently stroked my hair before standing up taking graceful elegant strides out of the room and the servants bowing as he left.
“His majesty has never been this kind to anyone.” One whispered to the other.
“I know, it's very surprising. I wonder who she is to him.” The other replied.
According to His Majesty Dracleon Vesper, I was nothing to him.
Or was he just trying to throw me off his tracks? What if he wanted me here for a reason.
I came out of my room later that afternoon, I was fed up with staying inside and Blue haired Billie was nowhere to be found.
As I explored the Castle, I was fascinated by their royal Vampire history. They seemed to have a luxurious and exquisite taste.
A particular painting caught my eye the most, it was a king on a throne but he was drenched in a lot of blood. Like he had to get his hands stained to attain the throne.
“It's you.” A voice startled me from behind.
“Me?” I turned around as an older looking man, gray hair and a slightly hunched back but he still seemed very scary and from the unusual glow in his eyes I could tell he was a vampire.
“You are the one emitting that delicious smell.” He licked his lips, his eyes shining like a predator ready to devour its prey.
I took a few steps back and immediately started sprinting but he was a vampire and my effort was useless.
He caught up to me without even trying, grabbing me by the neck. His long fangs came out ready to dig into my neck.
