Chapter 5 .
Ro's pov.
"Are you ready for this Ro?" Dawson asked carefully when we slowly drove up the street to my house.
We could already see the entire neighborhood was filled with red and blue lights. Many of the neighbors had come out in the streets seeing what was going on. We could also see my home was in full fire. I'm pretty sure it will burn to the ground.
"Yeah, let's do this." I said and I had tears in my eyes. And no they are not fake. Even if my parents have been abusing me in ways I don't want anyone to go through. They were still my parents. This was the home I have grown up in.
Other than my gang and our HQ. This was my home, my family. Seeing it in burning up like this, it's hard, it honestly breaks my heart.
I get out of the car and just looked devastated up at the house. Dawson came out of the car as well and walked over to me.
We could hear a lot of neighbors saying 'thank god Ro wasn't in there' in relief.
Okay time to sell this. "Mom, Dad." I first said sadly and in shock. Before I shouted it and tried to make my way to the house. "Ro come back." Dawson shouted and then two police officers stopped me.
"Miss you can't go in there." One of them said. "But my mom and dad. I need to know if they are in there. They should be home right now. Do you know if they are safe?" I said crying, trying to get out of their hold on me.
"Miss, please, you have to calm down." The other officer said gently.
"Ro, I'm so sorry." Dawson said putting a hand on my shoulder. That had me turn around and break down crying in his arms and into his chest.
"Excuse me sir, who might you be?" One of the officers asked Dawson.
Then Dawson explained to them how we 'meet' today. And that he took me to the hospital for a checkup.
"Well Mr Turner, it truly seem like your accident actually saved Miss Perry's life." The other officer said.
"Miss Perry, we need to bring you to the police station, we need to figure out where to place you." The officer said more softer.
I carefully pulled away from Dawson and looked at him with a tear streaked face. "My parents?" I asked with a broken voice.
"Let's talk more about this at the station." The other officer said carefully.
Then I looked up at Dawson. "Will you come with me? I don't want to be alone." I said with my broken voice.
"Yes Ro, I will come with you." Dawson said giving my shoulder a gentle squeeze then he looked at the officers.
"I will be representing Ro Perry since she is still a minor." Dawson said seriously.
"We understand. And Miss Perry is lucky to have such a well known lawyer representing her." One of the officers said and the other nodded.
"Please follow us and we will bring you to our precinct." The other officer said and Dawson nodded.
Dawson carefully guided me back to his car and open the passenger door. I got in and we followed after the police.
"I'm sorry Ro." Dawson said sadly. "Don't worry, I'm fine. I know you all have just acted in my best interests." I said low.
"Damn it's not easy seeing you cry like that. I know you are also acting but I also know some are true real feelings." Dawson said carefully taking one of my hands.
"Yeah, well other than the gang and HQ, they were my family, my parents and I exist because of them. It's my home and seeing it burn like that, well it's hard to think about. Even if it's a place a lot of bad shit has happened and they treat me horribly." I said looking out the window.
"I understand why you all did it. And I don't hate or resent you guys at all. I'm honestly grateful because I could never had done it myself. Even if it was to save my own life." I said grabbing his hand he is holding over mine.
Shortly after we pull up to the precinct and got out of the car. There we followed the two police officers into a conference room and sat down.
One of the officers handed me a soda can and a cup of coffee to Dawson.
"First let us introduce ourselves." One of them said and I nodded still with a sad look on my face.
"My name is Carson Stark." Officer Stark said and he look to be 37 years old and 182 cm tall. He has short sun blond hair, hazel green eyes and a turned up nose.
"And my name is Austin Quinn." Officer Quinn said and he seems to be 35 years old and 186 cm tall. He has short reddish hair, light blue eyes and hawk nose.
"We are sorry to inform you that when the firefighters arrived at the scene. The fire had already spread to the whole house. But they could see two bodies in there through the window. And before they could make their way inside, something inside exploded and the fire got even more intense, preventing them to enter." Officer Stark said sadly and softly.
"So we are sorry Ro, but we believe that your parents are dead. We will know more when the fire department can look more closely." Officer Quinn said and I just let more tears fall down my cheeks.
"I'm sorry to ask, but do you know what that explosion could have been?" Officer Stark asked carefully, and I gave a little nod.
"Can you tell us? It will help us understand more what happened at your home." Officer Stark asked and I looked over at Dawson.
"Ro if you know something, what was in the house that could explain the intensity of the fire, you need to tell them. You won't be in trouble." Dawson said looking at me with a sad look and I nodded again.
"Well I do know my parents are... were drug addicts, and alcoholics. They had all kinds of stuff laying around, so maybe some of that stuff could be the cause." I said low and carefully.
"I see, that can in fact be the cause." Officer Stark said low and Officer Quinn nodded.
"Ro, be honest with me when answering this. Have you ever done drugs or drinking alcohol before?" Officer Quinn asked carefully.
"She shouldn't need to answer that question." Dawson said in his lawyer tone.
"We just need to know if we need to give her some extra help, she won't be in any trouble if she has, she have our words on it." Officer Stark said looking at Dawson.
"I will answer." I said and looked at Dawson with my sad look and he gave me a nod.
