Chapter 6 .

Ro's pov.

"I can with my hand on my heart say I have never done drugs or ever had any alcohol. I'm a straight A student and I focus on my school and work." I answered looking into both the officers eyes.

"That is good, and we believe you." Officer Stark said with a small smile.

"Do you know what can have been the cause of the fire?" Officer Quinn asked carefully. I looked deep in thought for a little moment before I looked back up at them and shook my head.

"I left home this morning when I had to go to school. Everything was fine at home when I left, they both was a little high from the night before, but other than that everything looked normal." I answered honestly.

"I got off work at 9, and then I knew I had to hurry home, because I had to make dinner for them. They always gets hungry when they are high. And I know I can't trust them make dinner, because they tend to forget they have food on the stove. But because of that accident with Mr Turner I got home later than usual." I explained.

And honestly none of it is a lie, as well as I can give them a little picture on how my parents truly have been.

Both the officers looked at me sadly, seems like they know I'm hitting to the fact my parents have been very negligible of me. As well as they don't deserve the parents of the year award.

"Do you have any family members you can stay with?" Officer Stark asked and I shook my head.

"Honestly it has always just been me and my parents. They never talk about any family members." I said and that made them look at me more sadly.

"Are you okay if we take a DNA test of you? See if we can find some of your relatives? If they are in some of the systems, we will find them." Officer Quinn asked carefully.

Again I looked at Dawson. "I think that will be a good idea. And I can personally come with you and drop you off. That way you won't meet anyone you don't know alone." Dawson said.

"I may just have met you today, but I'm a lawyer and a very good one. If I see they won't be a good place for you, we will figure out something else. I won't let you deal with this alone. I feel I'm responsible for this, so I will do everything in my power to help you." Dawson said looking at me seriously and I nodded.

"I'm okay with that, you can take a DNA test." I said looking up at the officers. Officer Stark stood up and got out of the conference room.

"I know today have been long and it may seem like your life is a mess right now. But I promise it will get better. I lost my parents as well when I was your age. And I had to live with some distant relatives. But life got better, even though the loss of my parents was tough. I know they wanted me to live on and get a good and happy life." Officer Quinn said softly and carefully.

I look up at him, and see he isn't lying about what he said. I felt tears press on in my eyes again, his words honest meant a lot to me. Like I know I will be okay regardless because I have my crew. But right now it's so much unknown in my life. And that is scary.

Dawson carefully pulled me in for a hug. He is also one of my closest crew members. He know me almost better than I know myself. He truly do look at me as his niece, and care for me so much.

"Everything will be okay Ro." He whispered and I nodded into his chest.

Just then Officer Stark came back with a female officer and she took the DNA and said she would put a rush order on it.

When she left a man that looked to be a detective or something came into the conference room and sat down.

"Ro, please meet Detective Kim Nash, he has been in charge of investigation the fire." Officer Stark said and I looked over at him and he gave me a hand to shake so I did.

He look to be 42 years old and 189 cm tall. He has short hazel brown hair, hazel green eyes and turned up nose.

"I'm so sorry for your loss Ro." Detective Nash said with a sad look on his face and I just gave a little nod in thanks.

"When firefighters had been able to put out the fire, it wasn't much left of the house. And we did indeed find two bodies inside. And even though this is not pleasant to talk about I think it's important that you know." Detective Nash said and I again just nodded.

"The fire started in the kitchen and quickly spread from there. We did not find anything that suggests foul play. The bodies we found, is from a man and a woman, and even though everything was more or less melted or burned up. We found traces of syringes and a strap on their arms." Detective Nash continued.

I just let my tears down my cheeks freely.

"We will have the bodies examined for cause of death, but from how things looks right now. It do seems like they died of a drug overdose and was even dead before the fire. Or they have been so high that they didn't even smell the fire. If they did died of an overdose they were dead before we arrived at the scene and didn't feel any pain when they passed." Detective Nash said softly and again I just nodded letting the tears fall.

"The coroner we had on scene is very good at what she does, and she said it looks like the man was in his late thirties. While the woman in her midt thirties, and that match the age description of Mr and Ms Perry." Detective Nash said.

"Even though it's also too early to say for sure, but from the look of the pelvis of the woman. Our coroner said it don't look like she has given birth. So do you know if your mother got a c-section when given birth to you?" Detective Nash said and I just looked at him confused.

"What? No my mother always told me that I just needed to be grateful, because she had to go through so much pain to give birth to me. She said that pressing a watermelon out of her, uhm you know what, was a pain, so she never wanted to get more kids after me." I said confused and in shock.

"I see, like I said, it's still early and our coroner needs to investigate it further. I just figured I needed to ask." Detective Nash said and I just nodded still in shock.

What the hell? Now I'm confused.
