“Ben focus!” Daren called out to me from the sidelines. “Stop getting distracted!” Damnit that’s easier said than done! I duck another punch and jump away. “Stop running! Look for an opening and attack!” Holly urged. What the hell! I block a roundhouse kick to my chest and struggle to keep my balance as it pushed me closer to the fence. Glancing up all I can see is a blur from my opponent as they made it behind me trying to catch my blind spot. I spun around quickly only to find no one there... where? “Behind you!” Violet screamed as I felt a punch to my side and my knee go out from under me. I tried to flip and land on my back, but a strong grip pinned me into the dirt. “You did better that time.” My mate whispered in my ear as she held my arms tight behind me. “Almost a full 5 minutes!” I frowned. “I still could barely track your movements. You’re too fast.” Samantha chuckled as she released my wrists. “Yeah, that’s kind of the point behind my fighting style. Fast, deadly, and accurate.” “And unpredictable.” I added. “Not gonna lie, I couldn’t even keep up with your thoughts.” “Were you trying to cheat?” She chuckled. “Yeah... I tried.” I admitted. “But I couldn’t even-” Her mouth crashed into mine, interrupting me. Now I was reading her thoughts and chuckled internally. ‘Win at all costs and in any way you can.’ She did tell me that before. I guess I did something right after all. “And there they go again.” Holly sighed. “Guess sparring is over today.” After that Samantha chuckled and pulled away with me growling at her. She reminded me. “Come on, we have to survey the new boundary and stake our claim.” I growled in our mind link, grinning as she started to blush. ~~~ Walking the new boundary was a tedious task, as the trackers, surveyors, and construction workers, along with Wayne and Violet walked with us. The more of us that walked the more of our scents were left behind. Samantha’s aura was blasting out, and mine was reacting to it as we walked in wolf form. Violet was trotting to keep up with us as she walked with her tablet in her hand, placing notes and markers. The surveyors were placing little orange flags in the ground while the trackers were searching for rogue and unknown wolf scents. As we rounded the clearing, I couldn’t help but look around at it, remembering all the days we spent here. Samantha chuckled in my mind, she was looking around too. She sighed. I nodded, looking around. I agreed. I had a reason, for a few days I’ve wanted to run with just her. In Japan there weren’t many forests, and the ones that were there also had Kitsune. Samantha warned me that they were naturally adept at magic and if we weren’t careful we could spring one of their magic traps. And Samantha hates magic. And I mean HATES... As we continued on, Wayne stopped and looked around at the ground. “Yeah. I’ll do some more tests, but I think from here we can connect the southern wall.” He looked around at the trees and started to tie bright orange ribbons around their trunks. Samantha said, looking around. I added. We would have to come out here everyday and make sure that no one is contesting our new boundary. After a few days the barrier would be stronger, and we would be able to claim it as our own. Then came the real fun part, building our traps again. But it would all be worth it, once this land is completely ours we could house even more pack members. Samantha was hoping to build another housing complex for the elite and advanced warriors complete with another gym and training field. We were growing fast and needed more amenities. Maybe we could even get a larger school building soon. I liked that all the pups here were homeschooled on the pack lands. At my home pack we were all bused to the closest public school, and while that was a good learning experience it was hard because we shared it with the human population. Samantha started. I added. In the distance we could see the side gate coming into view and we waited until all the pack members were back inside before we walked through, the sharp sensation of crossing over made my fur stand on edge slightly. I don’t think I would ever get used to it. Silently I followed behind my mate as she walked along the inside of the border, looking at the silver trip wires as she walked. Grinning internally, I growled at her slightly before nipping at her leg. She laughed at me before I ran up and licked her face. I said as she nuzzled into me. Her wolf grinned, and I almost jumped for joy! Not only was she wanting to go too but she told me to lead! I yipped in happiness before turning towards the west and sprinting away, my love right behind me. For some reason ever since we returned from our honeymoon, I have felt a strong pull towards west, almost like someone was calling me. ~~~ Under the cover of night, pure evil walked. His feet barely touched the ground, as that took too much effort. And he was all for the easy way. The moon was but a sliver in the sky, signaling that the new moon was coming soon. Bad luck though, as this time it would result in a solar eclipse and that would work against him. He frowned as he looked at his phone again. Where the hell was he supposed to go?! Behind him his undead pawns marched, most cried for their lost lives and the abrupt change in their destinies. But he didn’t care, they were purely numbers to him. He would have preferred to have a couple hundred more, but time was working against him now, he could feel it in his bones. If he had blood in his veins, it would have ran cold that night. The GPS on his phone pinged again and he glared at it with his blood red eyes. Turn here?! But there is nothing but forest here! Damn wolves! Why do they always insist on staying in the woods like damn animals! They could at least try to live amongst the civilized people. He frowned and glared at the dirty path that lay before him. For him, a Vampire Prince to be indebted to mangy mutts! His pride had taken a huge hit when he agreed to allow that mutt to help him cross the ocean. It’s too bad he could only afford to get him here. After nearly an hour of hovering through the nasty dirty wilderness he sensed a wolf on his side. He stopped and straightened up to his full 7 foot height, not completely sure if this was one of his ally's pack or not. After a minute the wolf stepped out and looked at him in shock. He grinned, showing off his fangs. “Hello wolf. Is your alpha expecting me?”
