packhouse she noticed three of her pack meet her and rushed Ron and Matthew to their hiding spot. Overhead she saw the drones and flashed a thumbs up as she reached the wall. Alpha Eric would just have to forgive her for what she was about to do... She scaled the wall as fast as she could, if she couldn’t find a handhold, she made her own by punching into the siding. Behind her she heard her mate curse again but followed her up. Soon she reached the top of the roof and looked around. She could see most of the pack’s houses burning in the distance, some of the pack members were running for safety. Damn she was going to need Betsy. “Jake, I need Betsy!” Her beloved sniper rifle, as she worked quickly to set up the stand she could hear Jess in her mind, asking for an update. As she expertly attached the scope, she answered her. Violet breathed deeply as she looked through the lens. Violet heard the grappling hook hit the side of the building, but she was focused now. She found her target, a big mean wolf who looked like he was commanding some of the smaller rogues, it wasn’t the wolf she was looking for though... his wolf was red... and this one was grey. As she slowly aimed her gun, she calmed her breathing. “Moon Goddess hear my prayer, let my bullet meet my intended target...” As she pulled the trigger she watched as the grey wolf fell. Now he was a red wolf. She smiled as the smaller rogues scattered into the trees. Beside her Jake was busy pulling up some of the weapons Jess was raising to the roof. She glanced around again with her scope, picking off straggling rogues as they came into view. She glanced over as one of Jess’ team was up here with her. “Beta, I am here to help set up the 50 cal. Where do you want it?” “Just put it over there.” Violet pointed. She glanced around before a brilliant idea hit her. ~~~ Over a hundred of SilverFang’s fastest warriors ran, trying to get in position on the pack’s eastern flank. Lead by Holly and Bill they traveled as fast as they could. They had felt their Beta’s power flair out quite some time ago. Bill looked around and snorted as he slowed down. He smelled fire in the distance as well as fresh blood. He looked to his partner, and she nodded as they stopped. She sent out in mind link. Out here they were too far away to communicate with their Alpha through mind link but there were other ways to get word to her. Slowly she howled a sad howl, signaling they were ready. ~~~ As Luna Mary crossed the border to the SilverFang pack she heard the sad heartbreaking howl in the distance. Oh no! Tears pricked her eyes, who was that? “Mom!” She glanced around and just like that she was in her daughter’s arms. “Oh, Lily. My baby.” Her heart was still heavy with worry for her mate and eldest son who were still behind in Black Hill. “Lily, who was that? It sounded so sad.” Wiping a couple of tears from her face Lily smiled sadly. “Mom. That was Holly. Don’t worry.... that was just a signal.... we have Black Hill surrounded. ~~~ “Alright Alpha Shields, up you go.” Jess said as handed the older alpha the rope. He looked up at the wall where his middle son was looking down on him from the roof. He wasn’t worried he couldn’t scale the wall... more like he just watched the wolves from SilverFang scamper up like it was nothing more than a flight of stairs. He gripped the rope with determination, he knew as alpha he was the main target of this attack and all these wolves from his daughter’s pack were risking their lives to protect them. As much as he wanted to stay down here and help fight, he knew he would only get in the way. From talking to Gamma Jess and her team he learned that the only reason they even knew of this attack was due to two brave pack members who ran for help, almost getting killed in the process. He felt his son grab his arm and pull him up the remaining distance. “Hey Dad.” Jake said as he walked him over to Beta Violet who was firing off round after round. “Damn it.” She cursed. “They keep running into the trees.” Jess made it to the roof and ducked walked over to the grenade launcher. “I got something for that.” She said as she grabbed the radio. “Hot Mama to Big Papa come in Big Papa.” “Big Papa here, go ahead Hot Mama.” “Big Papa I have a hot grenade and need somewhere to put it.” She smirked. “Roger, standby.” Violet watched as the drones circled the woods briefly, and she waited. “Hot Mama I got a cell of 20 rogues, look like they need a little help dying over there. No pack members, light them up! From your position, 20 degrees, distance 50 feet into the tree line.” “Thank you, Big Papa, let the fireworks begin. Hot Mama over and out.” She laughed as she stood with the grenade launcher on her shoulder. “Alpha Eric, we’re about to owe you a lot of money for damages.” She fired it and they all watched in awe as the forest exploded as the live grenade instantly took many rogues’ lives. “Damn.” Jake said. He had been saying that a lot. “I know you said you were former military but damn.” “Once a SEAL, always a SEAL.” Jess smirked as she picked up her own semi-automatic and started to help Violet pick off the scattering rogues. After a few minutes she stopped and looked at Eric. “Alpha Eric, brace yourself, the Demon is here.” ~~~ My ears perked up as we heard an explosion in the distance! What is going on?! Beside me my mate shifted on her four paws, anxiously. We heard another sad howl in the distance, as we counted the seconds it was clear it was Bill. They were ready. I looked at my mate as she answered with her own howl. This time both Bill and Holly answered with a slow howl that turned into an angry bark. Soon over a hundred angry barks from our fighters were answering. My mate started as she stepped over the border. Her power lashed out, and I responded in kind, the power from our mate bond was surging. I commanded in mindlink and around us all of our fighters started growling and roaring as we charged ahead. My mate raged as we quickly started to finish off the terrified attacking force. Their power was almost nonexistent compared to ours and most tried to run away. Key word: tried. I felt my rage grow as I thought of the fear and pain my former pack mates must have felt. The innocent lives lost and the pups who wouldn’t have a mother or father after tonight. Not one evil soul that attacked this pack would see the morning sun. And that was a promise I made to the Moon Goddess herself. ~~~ From the largest conference room Gamma Greg studied the video feed from the drones. He watched the Alpha and Luna rip apart rogue after rogue and he couldn’t help but feel pride. Pride for the progression that the Luna has taken since he came to this pack 6 months ago. That unsure wolf who didn’t think he was strong enough to help Alpha lead this pack was doing just that! As he closely monitored the situation something from one of the most southern drones caught his eye. He took the remote from one of his team and directed it towards the new enemy group that was approaching. What the hell! What were they?! They didn’t walk... they glided... their skin was pale... deathly pale... the one who led them was tall... unnaturally tall. He didn’t even glance at the smaller female wolf who walked with them... he was completely taken aback. Slowly his brain started to work again... he had to warn everyone. He grabbed his radio and called his mate. “Big Papa to Hot Mama, come in Hot Mama.” “Hot Mama here, go ahead Big Papa.” “Be advised, enemy reinforcements approaching from the south. Number unknown.
