Nick nodded. “Yeah, they found a tunnel underground they said!” “The only underground tunnels we have are to the bunker!” Richard said as Amber grabbed his arm. “We just checked it a week ago!” “Where are the access points?” Samantha asked. “The packhouse common room, the daycare center, and the old hospital.” Amber gasped. “The packhouse!” We watched as Richard started to mind link. “I can’t reach Gamma Kirk or his mate.” Samantha growled. She turned to Nick and took him from me. “Nick stay here with Luna Amber. We’ll take care of the rogues and come right back.” Nick’s eyes started to water, and he grabbed her neck. “No! I want to stay with you!” She slowly sat him down. “I’ll be right back. I promise! And remember.” She bopped his nose but looked up into Richard’s eyes. “I always keep my promises.” She took off her coat and wrapped it around the pup, giving him one more hug. I looked up as three of our elites came into the room, one of them was covered with someone's blood. “Alpha, the packhouse is overrun. We got the beta couple out, but everyone else is dead.” Behind us we heard Amber gasp and start to sob. “Where did they go?!” “Back down the tunnel, Alpha. It stinks down there, at least 45 or 50.” She raged in our minds. She stood and spoke. “Protect Nick and the Alpha couple. But you didn’t so now you don’t! The deaths tonight are on your hands.” She growled as she left with me and our guards behind her. We run out of the hospital, and I smell fire. I glance around, “Love, some of the pack’s houses are burning!” She growled. “We need to find the cells, they will be trying to distract us with the destruction of pack property. We can’t be everywhere. We need to stop them before they set that bitch free.” Holly and Frank run in front of us to stop any jump out attacks. “But... the pack members....” What will happen to them? “Vi is taking care of that.” She pointed to the rooftops, and I could see Violet and Jake jumping from roof to roof, every once in a while, she would stop and aim her rifle, taking another shot and undoubtedly another rogue’s life. “She has already killed a dozen. Trust her and me.” She flashed an annoyed look at me as she grabbed the hilt of her sword. “We kill Felix and that bitch, and this will be so much easier.” I swallowed and nodded, running behind her as we searched. I noticed some of the pack’s guards were already killed, their throats ripped out. My heart was heavy. So much of this could have been avoided. I caught a whiff of rot and I growled, turning behind me as it dove behind a tree. It was trying to sneak up on us?! “Love!” She slowed to a stop and turned, looking at the tree. Slowly she drew her sword, spinning it in her hand. “Come out and I may ask your name before I kill you.” She declared as she approached the tree. I heard a bone chilling laugh come from behind the tree as the rogue stood up, not even looking at my mate, he was focused on me. “Aww... to call her ‘Love’... so sweet.... she’ll die in front of you, you know... maybe the Goddess will let you stay together after death...” He stopped laughing as his eyes focused on her. His face showed pure terror. “No... you’re not real....” He sat down hard and tried to back away. “De... demon!” Samantha smiled a big toothy smile. “Finally, SOMEONE KNOWS MY NAME!!!” She swiped quickly with her blade, separating his head from his neck and looking on as his body hit the ground. “Aw damnit!” She pouted and looked at me. “I could have used him to find the cells. Ugh!!!” One of our elites answered. In the distance I could feel an aura flare, it must be where they are. She turned to me again. “Kill every rogue you see, no mercy.” She handed me a long silver knife. “I know we haven’t had much time to practice with blades but I’m sure you will do fine.” She turned and ran towards the flashing aura, with me behind her. ~~~~~~ Deep underground ‘Alpha’ Felix sat with his ‘Luna,’ laughing. By now that fool Richard should be dead. He was still uneasy though, he hasn’t heard from his ‘Beta’ in almost 30 minutes. What is that fool doing? Now, most of his forces were back in the bunker, he was waiting for the pack members to flood in any minute now...scared and running for safety. He thought back to the year of planning he took for this night to happen, first he made sure to kill that brat’s father... he deserved it for taking what should have been his. My mate sighed, I could tell her patience had long since run out, but it seemed this was the only rogue left out in the open and we needed him. If she really wanted to command him out of the tree, she would but she was trying to keep her power in check. “I solemnly promise that I, Samantha Silver will not harm you.” One of our Elites found the cells, they were empty and all the guards were dead. We all watched as the man slowly climbed down from the tree, shaking. He looked at us and knelt on the ground, submitting. “Tell me where the others are.” My mate started. “Underground bunker. We went in through the old hospital.” “Why are they still down there?” I asked. “They are waiting for the pack members to run down there, the plan is to ambush them and kill them all.” “Even the pups?” I asked again. “Yes. Everyone.” “Then what?” Samantha asked. “Pack is ours. I’ve been promised the Gamma position.” “You ever heard of such a thing?” I asked with a chuckle in my voice to Samantha and our Elite standing there in human form. “A Gamma who piss his pants?” That got a chuckle out of everyone. “How many are down there now?” Samantha asked. “40 or so, we started with 60 but some bitch with a rifle has been picking us off.” “That someone is my Beta.” Samantha started. “You will say her name with respect, you pissant.” She laughed. “Pun not intended.” “But it works.” I smirked. “Now what?” I asked my mate. She announced to everyone who could hear. I frowned. This would take time, what is Samantha planning to do? She turned to the rogue again. “Tell your piece of shit alpha that everyone in the packhouse is dead, it caught fire and collapsed.” She commanded. The rogue’s eyes went out of focus. He is still waiting he said, he wants to kill the pup himself.” I started growling. “Pup?” “The pup called Nicholas.” He said, his voice shaking. Samantha reached over and grabbed my hand and squeezed it, calming me ever so slightly. “Thank you for your assistance, rogue. I think we are done here.” “So... I can go?” “Go? No, no. You’re going to die now.” She showed off her teeth as she smiled. “But! You promised I would be set free!” He growled. “No, I promised I wouldn’t hurt you. But have you met my mate? His name is Benjamin....” “And I didn’t promise you a damn thing.” I growled as I plunged my silver dagger into his neck.
