Chapter 3
Three minutes later, Joshua got out of the car.
Behind him, a total of thirty-two men in black followed Joshua respectfully to stand before David.
"Greetings, Lord Thunder God." Joshua wore a bright smile and bowed to David.
David stepped forward and patted Joshua on the shoulder, "Mr. Thomas, quite the grand entrance."
As those words landed, Joshua's legs went weak, and his bow turned into a kneel, "Lord Thunder God, I was wrong. Please forgive me. Please don't call me Mr. Thomas. Just call me Josh like you used to. That makes me feel more at ease."
As Joshua knelt, the thirty-two men behind him dropped to their knees in unison.
Seeing this scene, Scarlett bit her red lips with her teeth.
"How vulgar! Calling him Lord Thunder God? They have no shame at all!"
Although David couldn't hear Scarlett's thoughts, from her expression he could tell her prejudice against him was growing deeper.
But it didn't matter. Once he caught Flame Demon and handed him over to Scarlett, he'd have nothing to do with her anymore.
He reached out and pulled Joshua up, "Josh, get up. We're friends. Why so formal?"
Joshua looked relieved and grinned, "It does sound more friendly when you call me Josh. By the way, Lord Thunder God, I prepared thirty-three cars to pick you up this time. I hope you won't think it's too much. Also, this Phaeton you wanted—I specially bought it new for you."
"And you said you planned to stay in Seabrook for a while, so here's the key to Seacliff Castle, which I had built for you in Seabrook five years ago."
The fifty-five-year-old Joshua was now as respectful as an obedient grandson before David.
David's face showed a pleased smile. He reached out and pinched Joshua's chubby cheek, "You're so good. I love you."
Joshua was overjoyed, his face full of excitement, "Thank you, Lord Thunder God, thank you..."
David released Joshua's cheek, "Give me the key. Leave four cars and you can go."
Joshua kept nodding. He didn't ask questions, because in his subconscious mind, as long as he obeyed David completely, David would keep him wealthy and prosperous.
After Joshua knelt again and kowtowed before leaving with his people, David turned around, "Fox, Werewolf, Lizard, you three spend the next few days in Seabrook gathering information about Flame Demon and his people's whereabouts. Laser, come with me to the Perez family for the blind date."
Scarlett stepped forward and asked, "What about me?"
David held the car key and walked toward the Phaeton, saying casually, "Clean up the battlefield. Then go wherever you want."
Scarlett clenched her fists, "David, you're not human!"
David got in the car. As the engine roared, a voice reached Scarlett's ears, "You finally got something right. I'm not human—I'm a god!"
Seabrook, the Perez Villa.
Having received the news three hours in advance, Hayden had called all the direct family members together.
In the spacious living room, everyone looked at each other.
The eldest son, Mason Perez, sat in a wheelchair with a serious expression.
The second son, Owen Perez, stood with his two adult sons, Preston Perez and Theo Perez, behind him, looking calculating.
The third son, Zane Perez, frowned and kept glancing toward the door.
The main character, Elizabeth, sat at a table in the corner of the living room, constantly watching messages on her computer.
"Father, it's been over two hours. Is this person coming or not?" Owen was the first to lose patience and stood up to ask.
Hayden also looked serious. He slowly stood up, supported by two young servants, and walked to the villa entrance, looking around, "He'll definitely come."
Before he finished speaking, Owen's wife, Aria Clark, started complaining again, "Father, I can't help but say a few more words. The Turner family and our Perez family are well-matched. Although Beau is thirty-seven this year, he's not even forty yet. So young and accomplished, and he's interested in our Elizabeth—that's not easy to come by."
"If Elizabeth could get together with him, not only would the Perez family's problems be solved, but with the Perez family and Turner family joining forces, even Joshua would have to show us some respect."
Zane also said in a low voice, "Aria has a point. After Elizabeth became president, she did make quite a bit of money at first. But starting last year, problems kept coming up one after another."
"Of course, I'm not saying Elizabeth isn't capable. The key is she's a woman with limited energy."
"Also, about this person coming for the blind date—all we know is his name is David Jones and he has some connection to the Jones family in Eldoria."
"I just asked around. The Jones family does have someone named David, but ten years ago, he apparently made a mistake and was sent directly to Sandbar."
"You know, Sandbar is on the frontier. Once someone gets sent there, what kind of success can they achieve?"
Owen also sighed, "Although the Jones family has strong power in America, compared to them, the Perez family is worlds apart. But even if David and Elizabeth get together, what help can a castaway from the Jones family give our Perez family?"
After hearing their conversation, Mason also began to waver.
"Father, I also looked into David's background. Apparently, he's just a security guard in Sandbar. Elizabeth is at least the president of the Perez Group, Seabrook's top talented woman. Having her marry a security guard seems a bit too..."
Hayden's expression was serious.
His mind raced.
Thinking of how he had rescued Nolan from gunfire years ago, and the Jones family's current unshakeable position in America, he firmly believed Nolan wouldn't harm him.
Since he said David could lead the Perez family to even greater glory, then it must be possible!
"Listen to me on this matter!" Hayden said forcefully.
Just then, Elizabeth turned around, tears in her eyes, "Has anyone even asked for my opinion?"
That one sentence made the room fall silent again.
"Sir, someone's at the gate. He says his name is David and he's here for the blind date."
Hearing this, Hayden instantly perked up, "Quick, come with me to greet him."
As everyone followed Hayden out, Aria asked, "Did you see what kind of car he's driving?"
The security guard replied, "Looks like a Volkswagen."
Aria's face turned cold, "See? Just as I thought—a security guard!"
Zane's wife, Quinn Sullivan, smirked, "A security guard is fine. The family owes several hundred million dollars in debt now. If Elizabeth finds a security guard as her man, we can have him be Elizabeth's driver. That'll save the family a few thousand dollars a month."
Although Hayden heard them talking, he was too nervous to bother arguing with these younger family members.
Everyone came to the villa gate. Dozens of eyes fell on David in unison.
David looked at the crowd, smiled, and introduced himself, "My name is David Jones. I'm here for the blind date!"
