Chapter 5

Several years ago, Joshua was sent to Sandbar Penitentiary for monopolizing trade, illegal operations, and hoarding goods, with eight hundred billion dollars involved in the case.

This Joshua was quite a character.

Less than eight minutes after entering the facility, Joshua confessed everything—his life savings plus all his illegal earnings.

This move directly broke the record for the fastest confession by an inmate at the facility.

David was pleased and kept Joshua by his side, assigning him the daily task of doing his laundry.

Joshua didn't feel humiliated at all.

He treated laundry like scientific research and figured out eighty-one different washing methods.

Three years after entering Sandbar Penitentiary, David simply released him and gave Joshua three hundred billion dollars in startup capital plus connections and support, allowing him to reclaim his position as Seabrook's richest person after disappearing for three years.

Moreover, he received an Earl title for his huge contributions to the economy.

He became the first merchant in Seabrook's history to receive an Earl title!

After getting the title, Joshua spent trillions to build a castle in northern Seabrook to repay David's kindness.

He was waiting for the day when David would come to Seabrook so he could stay there.

Today, five years later, his dream finally came true—David actually came to Seabrook.

After an hour's drive, David and Laser finally arrived at the castle entrance.

Looking through the car window at the magnificent castle before them, Laser couldn't help but say in surprise, "Boss, Josh really went all out. This scale—it definitely took at least a trillion to build."

David smiled, "When we meet, I'll give him some more benefits."

David spent two hours with Laser just wandering around the castle.

Then his phone suddenly rang.

Seeing the unfamiliar number, David felt puzzled and answered the call.

Before he could speak, Hayden's cheerful laugh came through, "David, you left in such a hurry today that I didn't get to ask where you're staying now?"

David replied casually with a smile, "Don't worry about me, I've already found a place to stay."

Hayden continued, "Good, glad you found somewhere. I wanted to chat more with you today, but Elizabeth has been dealing with some troubles lately. She's at the company handling business matters now. If you have time, could you come to the house again? You can keep me company for a few drinks, and I'd like to hear about how your grandfather is doing?"

David knew that Hayden had once saved Nolan's life.

Since Hayden was inviting him, he had no reason to refuse, "Alright, I'll come over shortly."

After hanging up, David had Laser stay at the castle while he drove alone back to the Perez family.

Meanwhile, Hayden looked at Mason sitting in his wheelchair, dropped his smile, and sighed, "He'll be here soon, don't worry. Elizabeth is my own granddaughter after all—I won't harm her."

Ava wiped her tears nearby, "Father, you must find out about his background before he and Elizabeth get their marriage certificate. Once they're officially married, it'll be too late."

Hayden nodded, "Don't worry. When he comes, I'll get him to drink more, and I'll definitely find out what I need to know."

Outside the castle, at a turn on a side road off the main road, a Hummer was parked.

In the driver's seat, Scarlett stared wide-eyed at the Phaeton speeding past.

"David?"

In the passenger seat, Scarlett's cousin, Captain Veda Lewis, looked up and glanced out the window, "Where's David?"

Scarlett frowned with a shocked expression, "That looked like him driving past just now."

Veda laughed out loud, "Scarlett, what are you talking about? This road leads directly to Seacliff Castle. Are you saying David is the owner of Seacliff Castle?"

Scarlett said quietly, "Did I really see wrong?"

Veda leaned back in the passenger seat again, "You definitely saw wrong. David has been at Sandbar Penitentiary all these years—how could he come to Seabrook to build himself a castle?"

Scarlett thought that made sense.

Putting the thought aside, she asked Veda, "Is your information accurate?"

Veda said confidently, "Absolutely certain. There's a ninety percent chance that Flame Demon will appear at Seacliff Castle."

Scarlett looked up at the towering castle structure before them and murmured, "If Flame Demon really shows up here today, then the owner of this castle must have close ties with him!"

With that, Scarlett fell into deep thought.

As for David, driving with the window down, humming a tune, at dusk, he parked his car in a parking lot a few hundred feet from the villa.

He got out and walked to the entrance of the Perez Villa.

The security guard who had been waiting at the entrance immediately came forward and brought David back to the villa's living room.

At this time, besides the servants, only Hayden remained from the group David had seen during the day.

"David, finally you're here. Come, let's go to the study." With so many people downstairs, Hayden couldn't ask certain questions openly.

As David went upstairs, he suddenly remembered something and stopped, "I almost forgot—I didn't bring anything during the day. On the way here, I thought about buying you a good bottle of wine, but then I got a phone call and forgot again. Wait a moment, let me go out and buy a good bottle of wine first."

Hayden quickly waved his hand with a smile, "No need, I have plenty of good wine at home. In the study, you can pick whatever you want to drink."

David didn't stand on ceremony, "Since you put it that way, I won't be polite. Next time I come to your house, I'll definitely bring you two bottles of good wine."

In the study, Hayden pointed to a wine cabinet specifically for storing fine wines, "Look, it's full of all kinds of fine wines. Which kind do you prefer?"

David hadn't made a choice yet.

Hayden stepped forward and took down two bottles from the cabinet, "These two bottles were gifts from foreign friends. They've supposedly been aged for thirty years. Let's try them today, you and me."

David laughed cheerfully, "Great, since you're so kind to invite me, I'll drink with you to the end."

Hayden smiled slightly, found wine glasses, and began his questioning.

However, he ultimately underestimated David.

Two hours later, even after getting drunk and falling asleep, Hayden hadn't gotten any of the information he wanted from David.

David stood up, looked at the soundly sleeping Hayden, and couldn't help but laugh, "I don't get drunk that easily—your plan failed!"

With that, David smiled and left the room. Just as he was about to have a servant come in and take Hayden to his bedroom to rest, he saw Elizabeth coming upstairs with a woman in a purple dress.

When their eyes met, Elizabeth's face immediately showed disgust, "Why are you here again?"
