Chapter 5 A loving family

“What's your name?”, Luciano asked, like he didn't already know her name. This came from the urge to hear her speak.

“Isabella!”, she answered.

Luciano brought his hand back to his side, reaching into his pockets.

“Such a beautiful name!”, He said, taking out his hand from his pockets.

He brought the same hand towards her neck, the Morales family watching the interaction intently.

None of them would have expected the Don would inject Isabella with a syringe all of a sudden.

Luciano watched as Isabella's eyes rolled back, before she fell forward and his taut body caught her just in time.

“Sir, sir! What did you inject her with!?”, Mr Morales asked, suddenly standing up. The fear he felt earlier washed away instantly as his father's instincts kicked in.

“She'll be fine! She just took a quick nap!”, Luciano answered, as he handed Isabella's limp body to one of the armed men who took her outside.

The family looked towards the door, wondering if Isabella was going to be okay.

“Is this hers?”, Andreas came forward to ask as he grabbed the single box Isabella had brought down the stairs.

Assuming it was hers, as the family members were too spooked to answer, he took the box and headed out, Leaving Luciano and two armed men.

“Now, I hope you know there are consequences for your actions?!”, Luciano asked Mr Morales as he took a seat on the single couch where Isabella sat earlier.

“But we already agreed on a deal!”, Mr Morales said, shaking his head vigorously.

“As the plan with your daughter failed, I'll receive three hundred million and not two hundred million!”, Luciano said, crossing one leg over the other.

His sentence was rather shocking, considering the fact that the family had no idea that Isabella was going to make such an attempt.

“But, but sir! We didn't know she was planning to escape!”, Mrs Morales said, an attempt to get the Don to understand that they had no part In Isabella's foiled escape.

“If I had listened to every excuse, I wouldn't be where I am today!”, Luciano said as he stood up from the couch.

He continued, “you'll have your daughter when I have my three hundred million!”, he finished, heading towards the door.

The armed men followed after him, closing the door as they left .

“Mama? Papa? Where are they taking Isabella!”, One of Isabella's sisters asked as they heard the ignition of the engines.

Mr and Mrs Morales, who had tried to keep the details of the entire thing vague to their younger siblings, shared a look, wondering how best to tell them what was going on.

Especially after witnessing Luciano injecting their daughter.

“What do you want to do with her boss?”, Andreas asked as Luciano looked at the car right in front of them. The one where she was sleeping peacefully.

“Just keep her in the mansion, I haven't decided yet!”, Luciano said.

The Morales house was rather quiet, the remaining members of the family sitting in silence in the living room.

Their situation would make one marvel at the concept of time. They woke up that morning like they did every other day and thought their days would pan out like it always did.

Except, that very day, Luciano Rossi, the Italian Mafia Don would have their time.

The ladies stood up to clean the house of the mess that was made while the armed men were still present for surveillance.

Their father went back to his office after realizing the next step was to find a solution.

“Is Isabella going to be fine mama?” the girls asked once again after not getting a satisfying answer beforehand.

“Yes girls, your sister is strong, so she'll be fine!”, Mrs Morales said, doubting her answer, but putting up a strong front regardless so as not to scare her younger daughters.

She continued, “Come on now, you were up all night, go take a nap. Today, I'll let you sleep in!”.

“Alright mama!”, the girls said before they headed up the stairs.

Hearing the door to their room slam shut, Mrs Morales let out a deep sigh as she took a seat.

A tear escaped her eyelids as she remembered how her daughter was treated earlier.

She may not have looked like it, but her mind was not at rest, and it would continue to be like that until she was sure her daughter was okay.

No mother would want her child to be treated that way.

After her much needed moment, Mrs Morales approached her husband's office.

She was rather shocked to hear shuffling, like he was looking for something.

“Amore!”, Mrs Morales called out as she opened the door.

“I need to be left alone!”, Mr Morales answered, looking through the documents he had stacked in a part of the room.

“You need rest amore!”, Mrs Morales said, trying to get her husband to get some rest.

“Rest! I can't rest knowing my daughter is with that, that man!”, Mr Morales shouted as he suddenly passed to look at his wife.

“I know, I'm aware of that, however, he has taken her, and there's nothing we can do to change that fact.

Unless you can magically provide three hundred million euros!”, Mrs Morales said gently, trying to ease the situation.

“Aren't you concerned for our daughter?”, Mr Morales asked, trying to understand why his wife wasn't thinking like him.

Mrs Morales who had been trying to hold herself down for the family suddenly got triggered by what her husband had to say.

“Concerned!? You dare ask me if I'm concerned about my daughter? The one I struggled to birth! The one I cried for the most? Don't you dare ask me that sort of question!”, Mrs Morales shouted, her tone getting higher with every sentence, her breathing rapid.

“How are you going to pay three hundred million if you get burnt out”, she continued, her patience flying out the window.

“You can't tell me what to do!”, Mr Morales replied, equally angry.

“Yes, just like you took out the loan without my permission!” She replied with equal fervor.

She continued, “Mi Chiedo se sono tua moglie”

Turning around, she approached the door to leave when she heard her husband speak.

“Don't you dare!”
