Chapter 29

Elena’s POV

I do have King Harvey’s number, but he needs to see this with his own eyes. I could ask him to return or click the pen he gave me, but no. I will go to the study and look around. I recall King Harvey told me one night he has many secret rooms and wants to share them with me.

I want to see what is hidden.

Returning to his study, I walk behind his oak desk and press my hand on the left corner of it. I saw him tap a corner once and heard a door open.

A door opens behind me from behind the massive bookcase, that slips to the side loyally. I follow the motion and walk into a pure white round cornered room.

In the center of this white room is a simple short white stacked table.

Unsure if my hand will do, I place the pen on the table with a soft thud.

I wait.

Moments later, a soft whirling enters the room and I see from the back wall two towering mannequins appear. The one on the left is a woman in a long-sleeved silk white dress, with an embroidered red veil. The one on the right is a red velvet suit, with a sword on his right side.

Inching closer, I get right in front of the wedding dress and feel the soft satin silk. A plush of a wolf cub is at her feet and her heels are white but have red roses in the center. This material is the most expensive I have ever felt.

I shouldn’t be here…

Looking back to the front door, I see King Harvey leaning on the left side of the doorway, simply watching me.

“Oh, King Harvey, I am sorry, I have never seen a wedding dress this beautiful in person before.”

King Harvey simply nods. “Elena, this is what my parents wore on their wedding.”

I move towards him and close the gap between us, he looks down at me warmly.

“Oh! I am very sorry to intrude…” Bowing my head, I try to shuffle past King Harvey who spins me back into the room.

“What fabric do you like, Elena?” King Harvey hands me a small sample book of fabric, starting with wool and ending with silk.

“Silk, King Harvey. Can you tell me what happened with Gamma Kevin?”

“No.” King Harvey takes the book from me and slips the silk through his fingers. “White?”

“White dress, yes. I am a virgin.” I blush despite knowing this is a fact and not a bad thing at all.

King Harvey swallows visibly. “Yes.”

Now, I am starting to get pinpricks up and down my stomach. This wedding gets closer by the minute, and I just can’t know what to expect. What if I can’t satisfy him?

He seems aroused now but who knows.

Picking the fabric for my dress makes this more real. Everything is happening so quickly I find myself getting whiplash.

“King Harvey… what will you wear?”

“Red and gold velvet suit.”

I nod, feeling faint. Naturally, I lean into King Harvey and when he gasps, I look up. I have fallen into his steady chest. King Harvey carries me back to my room and lays me down on the bed.

He sits beside me politely in silence.

“I am scared of being a wife.”

King Harvey laughs. “I am scared I will hurt you, in bed.”

“…me too.”

“There is no way to master the wolf in me mating wise, I have been asking my father.” King Harvey gives me a piece of his mind I have never seen before.

He never mentioned going to his father for advice and this makes him more human to me, it also shows that he cares for me, truthfully.

“Minus the wedding night… just being a wife…”

“You are my wife.” King Harvey says seriously.

I want to sit up at his sentence, but I feel so weak, I just frown at him, confused.

“What?” I whisper.

“You act as if you are my wife already, Elena. The main difference will be our bedroom life.”

“Can I satisfy you?” I ask in a hoarse whisper. This is not an offer of passion, but a question. I know how terrible my wording is, but King Harvey simply looks at me stoically.

“Yes.”

“You feel it?”

“My soul calls for yours, Elena.” His fingers trace down my face then my neck, relaxing me.

I lean into his touch and close my eyes to rest.

I awoke about an hour later, with King Harvey lightly sleeping beside me. Running my hand down his face, I feel the depth of his cheekbones and warmth of his body.

“Elena,” King Harvey says, his voice still worn with sleep. “If you are well, we can go box to get that tension out of you.”

“Okay.”

I get up and King Harvey follows, then guides me to the training room. In a few minutes, King Harvey and I warm up punching the bag. King Harvey turns to me with a smile, then turns to face me.

“Are you ready?”

I nod at him and duck a soft punch, then another. I throw a punch at him, and King Harvey blocks it with his left hand, then lowers his head as if to headbutt me.

He doesn’t even touch me; he just lowers his head as if to telegraph what he would do in battle.

This is a free shot for me, and a way to show him I know what I am doing. I uppercut him with my right hand and get him right in the nose, just a tap, but it is something.

The gentle shock of my hit makes King Harvey step back and stare at me. A smile blooms across his face.

“Excellent.”

“Really?” I gasp.

“Harvey?” A soft feminine voice, new and gentle comes from the doorway.

A tall woman with King Harvey’s brown hair, straight and long in a red long-sleeved dress stands in the doorway, a scratched emerald necklace catches my attention. It is a massive diamond chunk on a golden thick chain.

She wears a man’s chain with a woman’s diamond.

His mother.

Instantly, I bow as lowly.

“Hello, Queen.” I raise my head cautiously and catch her eyes.

"Is this your human bride?" She looked at me with a frown.
