Chapter 64
In a blur, King Harvey takes us back to our castle and the men walks off to train. Beta Tom looks at me as if to ask a question, but simply walks away. King Harvey frowns as he wraps an arm around my waist, guiding us to the library.
“Beta Tom is very anxious for your answer, Elena. He is desperate for your blessing.”
I sigh. “Are you sure of him, King Harvey?”
“Do you believe me a liar, Elena?” King Harvey raises an eyebrow. “I have not lied to you about a thing, why would I start with Beta Tom?”
“She is my sister, King Harvey. I raised her, I worry, I worry and worry some more.”
King Harvey warmly smiles at me as he squeezes my waist, pulling me to be body and body with him. We walk in step.
“You will make an excellent mother, Elena.”
“What about aunt?” I grumble, knowing that I do trust King Harvey, which means I do trust Beta Tom and will give him the answer they both want. I never asked Emily what she thought of him….
“Speaking of aunts!” A tall woman with long straight, soft brown hair runs to King Harvey in a light pink dress and hugs him tight. He greets her with equal enthusiasm and smiles.
“This is my aunt, Elena.” King Harvey says as he shows her to me.
She grins at me. “Hello, Luna Queen! The news has spread across the lands!”
Her voice is light and sweet, and even understanding.
I blush, taking her hand that she extends to me. “T-thank you. You are human.”
“Yes, and so are you!”
“Where is Uncle?” King Harvey asks, looking around the room like a child.
I smile. He seems more at home with them than his own parents.
“Uncle is talking to Beta Tom, Harvey. Give them a few minutes, poor Beta Tom seems a bit upset.”
“He…wishes to marry my sister.” I whisper.
“Oh! And you are worried?” His aunt steps forward and looks into my eyes. Having a human around is a nice treat and I feel more relaxed, especially after all the kings and their wives at the party.
“Yes.” I take a seat at the small red velvet chair, and she takes the one right beside me by the window.
“Well… Elena, I know Beta Tom, he is King Harvey’s best friend.”
“Really?! He never said that!”
She nods. “Oh, are you worried about her facing predjuice? I did, plenty of it, but after you in charge, I can see you being an excellent human Luna Queen and you will be taken seriously, especially with King Harvey backing you up.”
“That is true…”
“Are you scared she will not stand the sex?”
I blush so bad I have choice but to throw my face in my hands. She laughs at me earnestly. Then pats my back.
“You survived I mean, and if the werewolf is in love, then there is no issue, Elena. You know that.”
I exhale. “Can you tell me if he is in love?”
“Sure!”
King Harvey leaves a moment and returns with King Harvey’s Uncle and Beta Tom. Beta Tom looks more upset than I have ever seen, his eyes sunken in. King Harvey’s Uncle looks like King Harvey’s father, taller but with a kinder face and eyes.
It seems his wife has humanized him.
Beta Tom sits beside King Harvey, and soon there is a little circle of us sitting on these red velvet chairs. King Harvey is to my left, his aunt at my right, her husband at her left, then Beta Tom.
King Harvey’s aunt takes Beta Tom’s hands in hers and whispers. “Fangs.”
In a blink, Beta Tom’s fangs are fully extended out of his mouth, and I gasp. His eyes are silver.
She squeezes his hands knowingly. “Very, very good.” Her hands emit a soft humming sound and a light red flame licks at her finger tips. They flash over Beta Tom’s hands.
“You may ask me what you wish.” Beta Tom speaks slowly, but he nods, giving consent.
“Once you are a full luna, their werewolf sides accept you automatically, Elena. You must use this to your advantage always. They do not mind answering questions and you must be firm. I do not enjoy this analogy, but it is as if you are talking to an animal. Firm, secure. Now, do you love Elena’s sister?” King Harvey’s aunt explains, only glancing at me once.
“Yes.” Beta Tom replies with no hesitation. “I consider her my mate already. I love her beyond myself and every reason.”
Looking at King Harvey and seeing how he studies Beta Tom, I sigh heavily.
“Ask him something.” King Harvey’s aunt says.
“Uhm… have you… been with my sister?”
“She wishes to wait, I respect her.” Beta Tom replies.
“Would you betray my husband for her?”
“As King Harvey would betray me for you, Elena.” Beta Tom says with a firm blink. His eyes revert to normal as King Harvey’s aunt removes her hands from his.
“You would?” I ask King Harvey who smiles.
“Have I not told you that?”
“Beta Tom is your best friend!”
“And you, girl, are his wife!” King Harvey’s uncle chuckles as he claps a hand over my shoulder. “A wife comes first.”
“Oh.” I blush. “What else can you tell me about being married to a werewolf?” I question his aunt.
Beta Tom gives King Harvey a quick final word and is gone.
“Well…” King Harvey’s aunt laughs. “His sex drive as you know is not normal, so… just go with that. As for children, the babies are the same as human babies, will not claw out your tummy or anything. They grow faster than humans, and your pregnancy is at the most three months. You will have many children.”
“Huh? How many do you have?”
“Ten,” King Harvey’s uncle replies with a smile. “All half-breeds.”
“Why does everyone make such a big deal about me being human then?!” I huff.
King Harvey’s uncle sighs. “Elena, I was stripped of my royalty.”
“…what?” Turning to King Harvey, I see him nod sadly.
“King Harvey went to war to prevent that for him and be kind to humans… he did restore some of my title, but not much. Our children will have some royal title, but they are not very happy about that after what happened to me.” King Harvey’s uncle says.
“As for luna abilities, Elena.” King Harvey’s aunt says happily. “If Harvey transfers some of his power to you, it will be a great help. After, make sure you practice and often, do simple things, levitate pencils and books with one hand individually. Eventually, you can lift very heavy items and when you are mad you can crack homes. As for the power I just showed you, you need to practice on Harvey to begin with, because you can connect to him very quickly. Then try on your sister.”
“My sister?”
“You need to be able to use it on humans too as a Luna Queen.”
“Oh, okay. What about protective luna abilities?”
King Harvey’s aunt nods. “My husband made me a foam shield and had me levitate it, think of bubbles with levitation. To make an orb shield, think of you in that bubble or just in a bubble in general, like a hamster, to create a sword, train with a small dagger and wrap that in your powers until you can extend it. You will think of drawing a long blade, or an extended metal rod. Perhaps use one of those metal batons that extends. That is good and just think of making it big. You must think creatively.”
I nod, then get up and find a pad and paper and start to write.
“Oh! What about breastfeeding?” I ask and am too nervous to look at King Harvey who stares at me intently. His uncle says something and the two start to mummer, laughing.
“Quit it, you two!” King Harvey’s aunt swats her husband’s hand away with a grin. “Harvey is very excited to see you as a mom, Elena. Anyway, pump your milk, no fangs for your chest.”
“Alright…” I blush.
King Harvey grins. “The next part of our lives is going to be exciting, Elena.”
