Chapter 7 Pregnant

Killa

"How was she?" I asked, taking a sip of my drink, not that it was helping. That feisty Crucifer had me shook last night, and that rarely ever happened. I was looking forward to seeing her the next morning, but I had some urgent business to attend to.

Sly smiled a little dangerously, telling me what I needed to know.

I wasn't the only one intrigued by Kade Cross.

"She is perfect for you, OG," he said with a smirk as he tossed his stress ball and caught it. I flipped him off because that sounded crazy.

Rocco, who was immersed in his phone, possibly looking for another woman to warm his bed since he and his baby mama were off again, laughed at what Sly said. Those two needed help, and that was saying a lot because I knew I was messed up too.

"Damn, I need to meet her. I mean, I've only heard stories about her, but if Sly approves, then she's a hit," Rocco said, nodding at me.

"Shut the fuck up, both of you," I said, making them laugh at me. I ignored them and walked towards the window, looking out. Chicago was always so pretty at night, but make no mistake, shit went down during times like this. That's why I built an office here. "She's a lot tougher than I expected. I definitely underestimated her," I said, taking another sip as I thought about her outrageous demands.

She's smart, I'll give her that.

"Look, Killa, I may have only been around her for a few minutes, but from what I observed, she's as deadly as they come, and you know why? She has something to lose," Sly said, making me turn to look at him with a questioning gaze. "Her daughter," he added with a smirk.

"No, man, come on. That's fucked up," Rocco said. Sly rolled his eyes and continued playing with his stress ball. He always talked about how soft Rocco had become since he became a dad. I always tried to defend him, but times like this made me realize Sly might be right.

We are Hounds, and playing dirty is part of our nature.

"You ain't really considering it, are you?" Rocco asked, looking at me with disappointment, like it was supposed to faze me. "Boss, you can't…"

"It's war, Rocco. And all is fair in war. You might not like it, but it is what it is. Also, mind your tone when talking to me," I said and made my way back to my seat.

Rocco nodded but kept quiet. He shot Sly a dirty look, not that the other guy cared.

I thought about what Sly said, and I won't lie, it was a terrific idea. Kade wasn't like most women, and I'd forgotten that. I'd treated her like some hoe on the side, and she made me pay in the most outrageous way possible.

I have to let her into the books.

I knew I was exposing myself, but I needed those routes. I needed to secure that deal with Vercetti, and the Italian fucker only needed the Crucifers' routes and land. I had no idea what for, but there was too much on the line to care about that. The only way I could think of to get access to it was marriage, but I hadn't planned for Kade to ask for the books.

"How did she respond to Kiana and Kassia?" I asked. My mother insisted on being friendly, but I knew for a fact Kade wasn't going to give them the time of day.

"Oh, she was quick, barely even acknowledged them. Kassia wasn't exactly friendly either. It was a shit show, to say the least," Sly said, shaking his head and smiling. "Cute kid, though. It's a shame she has to go through this." He shrugged.

I wasn't surprised about Kiana and Kassia, but Sly was right. JJ was a replica of her father. It was impossible not to know whose child she was. I couldn't stop staring at her when Nikita brought her over.

"Then don't do it. Trust me, that shit will backfire big time," Rocco said, still trying to plead his case.

I was going to reply, but there was a knock on the door, pulling my attention away from Rocco.

"Come in," I said as the door opened. A smile broke out on my face when I saw who it was. "Come here, sweetheart." I patted my lap, and she strutted over slowly, deliberately teasing me. "Get out." I motioned towards Rocco and Sly.

Sly let out a laugh while Rocco just shook his head, but both of them left nonetheless.

"So," she said as she finally sat down on my lap and wrapped her hands around my neck. I leaned back and watched her with a smirk dancing on my lips. "You got married?" she asked, playing with my beard, looking a bit hurt as the words came out of her mouth.

I sighed before raising her chin and making her look at me. "Bianca, I know it's not what we planned, but I promise this isn't real, okay? It's all business. You're the only one, baby," I said as gently as possible.

"How can you say that? You put a ring on my finger and then married another? Business or not, that's messed up, Killa, and you know it," she said and made to get up, but I held her still.

I hate sentimental shit, but I've loved Bianca since we were in Pre-K and my father was the president. I wasn't going to lose her, and certainly not over Kade.

"I know. I know. What do I do to make you believe me? I don't want her, baby. I only want you. She's only serving a purpose, and I promise you, I'll get rid of her the moment I'm done with her."

Bianca looked at me, biting her lip while her fingers played with my open chest. I knew what she wanted whenever she got like this.

"You will do anything?" she asked, batting her lashes.

I nodded. I wasn't joking when I said anything.

"Get me pregnant.”
