Chapter 5 Chapter 5

Kinslee POV

“Fuck,” Kyan said.

“Is it true? A rogue wolf?” A man with short snow white hair marched into the basement. His yellow robe flowed behind him.

“Who summoned the council?” Kyan grounded out.

A guard bowed. “Everyone was informed about the rogue. We thought it was a breach of pack security.”

“It is,” Finn said. “This might be a matter of werewolf security as a whole.”

“No, there’s just been a huge misunderstanding!” I offered.

They’d never believe me. More people entered the dusty and dark basement.

Most of the people who entered were elderly, except a man with short black hair. Unlike the others, he was dressed in casual clothes to suggest he hadn’t been asleep.

They discussed the ordeal at great length and detail. They spoke about me as if I weren’t mere meters away from them.

Kyan was the centre of conversation. While others spoke over one another, he remained stone cold and silent. The worst part was that he hadn’t removed his gaze from me.

How could he be so rigid and not feel the intensity of the mate bond?

I pressed every body part together to stop the throbbing between my legs, but nothing worked. My heart pounded hard and painfully. My nipples were erect and wanting. I needed his touch. I was desperate that even his eyes on my skin felt like his hands on my thighs.

“She’s dangerous!” A man with white hair yelled.

“Calm down, Vance. We could use this to our advantage,” a woman said.

Great, now they want to use me.

Kyan hadn’t flinched despite the conversation around him.

My longing intensified, and I bit my cheek because I could moan at any second. I was wet and throbbing. The force of my desire could trigger a heat.

In a room full of wolves, that could be deadly. Alpha females had the strongest heats. Most wolves found them irresistible. Unlike in the De Monte Pack, I was no one here. There was nothing stopping these guards from fucking me to death.

I pleaded with my eyes for this to end. It’s better if they lock me up, or better yet, just throw me away like trash.

My eyes locked with Kyan’s.

“Enough.” Kyan’s deep voice silenced them all. “I’m taking her.”

“Where are you taking her?” Vance demanded. “She should be killed right here before the pack wakes up to hear of this news.”

Kyan dragged me to my feet with one arm. He eyed my naked body and removed his robe.

He placed it over my shoulders, and I hurried to cover myself.

“None of you can tell me what to do. I’m taking her and that’s final.”

“Kyan, I think we should talk about this, bro. The mark of morrigana is a dangerous thing. We don’t know why someone dumped her here. She could come with diseases or who knows what,” Finn said.

“We can all agree this pack has had enough of curses, and somehow they all come with women!” Vance yelled.

Kyan growled and tugged on my arm. “Don’t tell me what I already know. If she were dumped on my property, then she is my property.”

My lips parted in surprise.

Excuse me?

The room fell into silence until one woman spoke.

“Your Highness, think about this,” the woman said.

“I don’t want to think about this anymore, Mila. For all we know, the mark could be fake,” Kyan said.

If only that were true, I thought.

Mila, the only woman on the council, raised her chin with a quiet confidence. “You’re right, your Highness. The mark could be fake, but we know this is the year of prophecy. The chances of the mark being fake are slim.”

“Gather your best seers and find out, but until then she’s under my watch,” Kyan said firmly.

“Kyan…” the man, not in his sleeping clothes, said.

They locked eyes for a second. A silent conversation went on between them. They must be using the mind link. I couldn’t listen in because I wasn’t part of this pack. Kyan broke eye contact with the man and turned to me.

“Let’s go,” the King ordered.

He dragged me from the basement and up a flight of steps. That was when I noticed the piece of fabric pressed in my fist. It was stained with mug. It was probably white, but it was ruined by all the dirt. Kyan marched so fast I stumbled with each step.

“Keep up,” he ordered. “You have a lot of explaining to do.”

“I can explain,” I said.

He kicked the double doors open. The scent of sex and passion filled my nostrils.

My wolf growled and made me resist going into the room. Kyan turned back at me with wide eyes. My skin crawled with betrayal and disgust.

“No,” I said.

“What?” He growled.

Kyan picked me up and threw me on the bed. The robe flew open, revealing my body to him.

“Don’t touch me!” I ordered.

He stopped in front of my legs and tilted his head. His wolf flashed in his eyes. It was an order to submit, but my wolf rebuffed him.

He smirked. “You’re an Alpha female.”

“I am a King’s daughter!”

He shoved his hands in his pockets.  “No king would lead his daughter to a mad Lycan’s territory. Why are you here?”

“I…” The truth was, I didn’t know why I was here.

My pack was miles away from Kyan’s Island. It was a two-day trip on a carriage or wagon.

“I don’t know,” I finally responded.

He clapped my legs together with his thighs and threw himself on top of me. He grabbed my jaw and made me look at him.

“That’s not good enough!”

“I demand to speak to my parents.”

“You’re not in the position to demand anything, little mouse. The only thing you need is to be thoroughly fucked.”

My pulse quickened again, and the ache between my legs was back.

“I can smell how much you need it.”

“N-No.”

He pressed his pelvis into me. My jaw dropped, and my eyes closed.

“You’re wet and ready,” he whispered in my ear.

He turned my brain to mosh. His cock was as hard as steel. I wondered if he showed that I’d never been this close to a man before, or was the mate bond totally covering my innocence?

He stroked himself on me. I needed more. I craved it.

My panting got louder and heavier.

“That’s it,” Kyan whispered.

Kyan’s lips hovered over my cheek. He was milliseconds away from kissing the corner of my mouth. My wolf jumped in delight.

Then, the double doors flew open.

“What the fuck are you doing?!”
