Chapter 4 Jealousy?

Zyle

The room was adorned with human skulls and animal fangs. I traced my fingers on some of the artifacts before letting out a small sigh.

“You look tired.” Eliot, my father, also the pack’s Alpha, said, while grinding a few herbs in a mortar. It was mom's drug. She was attacked with wolfsbane during a clash with a rival clan two years ago.

“Going to school at my age can be tiring and boring, you know,” I replied, slumping on a rocking chair and closing my eyes.

“Pfft…ha ha ha” Eliot burst out laughing. I opened my eyes and looked at him with a raised brow.

“What's so funny?”

“I remember giving you the advice to go to Gradinton under the disguise of a professor not a student.” He sounded so cocky. I scoffed in response relaxing into the chair and rocking myself.

“You've finally spoken to her right?”

“Monroe?” I asked and shifted on the chair.

“Yeah… she seems cool…” I frowned.

“I understand you do not want to perform the sacrifice but her blood is the only pure beta blood that we've been able to track for the past seventy years.” He said it as though it was so easy to gut an innocent human for a sacrifice they didn't know about.

“I really don't think I can pull this through.” I finally said. The mission had been weighing on me for the past year after I transferred to Grandinton.

I pulled out a cigar from a pack I saw lying on his work table and lit it.

I've never had a problem with killing humans, it's part of our animalistic instinct as wolves but I couldn't bring myself to kill Monroe.

She didn't deserve it.

He paused his movements and dropped the pestle before looking up at me.

“You were sent to Gradinton for a reason, Zyle. Your mother had been drinking this bitter tea for the past two years, and her health has been deteriorating. Do you not want her to stand up again and run across the forest?” his smile had been replaced with something else. Disappointment.

“Do you not want to hear her sing and howl under the full moon?” he continued

“Is your friendship with that girl's brother more important than your mother's health?” Emotional blackmail had always worked on me.

“Dad. Can someone else do…” he cut me off.

“ Son. You are the next in line to rule our pack, if you cower because of emotions you'll put the lives of our kind in danger.” He sounded angry.

“But…” I trailed off.

“Her heart would cure the Luna of the wolfsbane poison.” He said resuming his pounding.

I leaned back on the chair, taking a long drag off the cigar.

“Her body would be crushed into puree and spread across the pack granting us immunity to one of our weaknesses, wolfsbane.”

“The first red moon is in the next two months, you must speed up the progress.” I closed my eyes and sighed.

What would I do? I could not choose a human over my mother and pack.

Would killing Monroe finally grant the pack wolfsbane immunity?

There was only one way to find out.

I was made into a stalker. The prerequisite for becoming an alpha was getting more difficult day by day. I was to make sure Monroe didn't die before the red moon atonement.

“Zyle, what are you thinking about?” Sasha, my betrothed, asked.

“Nothing…” I replied. I've never really understood why I was betrothed to Sasha, we couldn't perceive our pheromones and all we ever did was smash and leave.

I continued washing the dishes, with my back turned to her. She slid her hands around my waist and rubbed my belly up and down. I paused.

“There's no need to worry, soon you'll be made Alpha to the whole of Lycos. Then I'll be your Luna and our pups will run around the palace and grow strong enough to become the next leader.” I sighed. I wanted that life. An easy life, but the price to pay was not so easy.

She slid a hand into my pants, her fingers brushed and stroked my cock. I lifted a brow and a small smirk formed on my lips. I spun around and her pupils were dilated with lust.

I spun her around and made her bend over, her palms on the island for stamina.

“I know about you and Brian.” Her body stiffened. I caught her and Brian, my twin brother, fucking in the woods under the gibbous moon. I left them at it. Didn't want to interrupt.

“It's really not…” she tried to say but I've undressed both our lower bodies and without warning I thrust deep into her causing her to yelp and tighten her pussy against my cock.

I pulled out again and banged into her hard, increasing my movements. It had been a while since I fucked someone, my emotions were all over the place and release might be just what I needed.

I held her ass firmly and pushed my dick into her hole, grinding against her and feeding on her moans. The moisture from our connected organs made lewd wet sounds that filled my penthouse.

She rested her face on the island forcing me to close in and hold her ass steady, thrusting into her in quick paces.

“Yeah…right there…” she murmured.

I arched my head backwards and groaned as my dick twitched.

Filling her hole to the brim with my seed I withdrew my cock and zipped up, panting. She pulled up her thong and turned her sweaty face to look at me.

“Was this punishment?” She asked. I arched a brow and went to the kitchen’s second sink to wash my hands.

“I really don't have anything to do with Brian, it was just the heat of the moment and he was in rut.”

Being in rut meant that Brian was in his heat stage and anything with a hole would be in for a sex marathon with him, if they got too close. But Sasha was an alpha as well, only omegas could relieve alphas from the heat of rut.

She understood where she had fumbled in her lie but I didn't need to hear more.

“You are jealous.” She said crossing her hands with a small smirk on her face.

That was the problem. I wasn't jealous. I was never jealous of anybody. Maybe it was because I had seen her several times with her omega concubines and alpha sex mates, I'd grown immune. But, I couldn't remember the feeling of jealousy.

That night I went out to get some air and hunt some animals but I ended up hunting a group of humans that made my skin crawl. A familiar scent made me trace my steps towards it, like a hypnotized dog, I breezed towards it.

Monroe, the girl I was assigned to keep safe was sprawled on the floor with a group of men trying to get their way with her. Their laughs and her screams filled the forest.

It was customary that a werewolf should never show their true form to humans but…desperate times called for desperate measures.
