Chapter 5
The dilapidated building was on the verge of collapsing. At that moment, Vic Connor and Eileen Ford stood there, naked, staring blankly as the truck that had delivered the goods drove away.
It wasn’t until someone took out a phone to take a photo that she realized what had happened. Feeling extremely embarrassed, she ran outside the room.
“What on earth is going on here?”
Eileen Ford followed Vic Connor. The two of them ran into a small grove of trees, where they hurriedly put on their clothes.
“How the hell am I supposed to know?”
Vic Connor is a well-known second-generation rich kid. Back then, in order for him to get into Deep Sea University, his father donated a huge sum of 20 million to the school.
“Could it be that Reg Butler did it?”
“That’s impossible. That worthless wretch wouldn’t even dare to do it, no matter how much courage was given to him! But this is too strange. I must have someone investigate it!”
While talking, Vic Connor took out his latest Apple 7 and made a phone call.
“Xiaobin, please find out where Reg Butler went this afternoon.”
“Okay, Vic. Just wait for my good news.”
After hanging up the phone, Vic Connor and Eileen Ford took advantage of the crowd dispersing to sneak back to the underground garage surrounding their rental apartment. They then drove away in a Corolla.
Reg Butler took the money and didn’t go straight back to the dormitory. Instead, he went to an internet cafe with a few of his roommates that day.
“What? The place is booked?”
“Do you know what? I’m a loyal member of this internet cafe! I’m here to earn points!”
The leader, a blond hooligan, yelled so loudly that the young network administrator couldn’t help but shiver all over.
“I’m sorry, sir. Someone has indeed reserved the venue for today, and they’ve booked the most expensive VIP suite. Please come back another time.”
The young network administrator spoke in a timid manner.
“It seems like you really don’t understand my temper at all. Fine, you won’t give it to me, will you?”
The blond thug pointed upstairs. The two thugs behind him immediately picked up two beer bottles at the bar entrance and headed upstairs.
“Sir, sir, the second floor is a VIP area. You can’t do this…”
Bang!
The network manager tried to stop them, but was kicked to the ground by the blond guy. He couldn’t get up for a long time, holding his stomach.
Reg Butler and his three best friends were scoring relentlessly. They had won seven or eight games in a row, and the entire team’s momentum was at its peak.
“Lao Si, did you win the lottery?”
The leader got five kills throughout the entire game. At this point, he glanced at Reg Butler with some suspicion.
“Yeah, Lao Si, hurry up and tell us what’s wrong. Did you get another scholarship again?”
“What scholarship could possibly make Lao Si, who’s usually so stingy, spend ten thousand yuan to book the place for himself?”
The second and third guys also sighed in agreement. All three of them, with their “underdog” looks, turned their eyes toward Reg Butler at the same time, which made Reg Butler feel a little proud secretly.
“Actually, I’ve always kept a secret in my heart: I’m a rich second-generation heir!”
Reg Butler said bluntly that he had no reason to hide anything from his three best friends.
“Negative… second… generation!”
After hearing this, the three of them were initially stunned, then burst into laughter.
“Lao Si, I’ve noticed that you’ve become more and more humorous lately. Even your expressions when joking are great. To be honest, if you practiced a little more, I think you could even become an actor!”
The boss joked around, and immediately, the second and third in line started laughing uncontrollably as well.
“I told you, I’m really a rich second-generation heir!”
“Who the hell said you wanted to book the place?”
Just as the three of them were mocking Reg Butler, the blond thug, along with two other hooligans, rushed upstairs. As soon as they entered, they smashed the wine bottles they were holding on the ground, scattering shards of glass everywhere.
“Doug Butler?”
Upon seeing who had arrived, the three men who had previously mocked Reg Butler immediately became timid.
Especially the boss, he whispered to the three of them, “The leader of the most violent gangsters around our school. I heard that several girls who came home late at night were raped by that monster!”
“Who the hell wants to book the place?”
Doug Butler threw another beer bottle, which landed right in Reg Butler’s hands.
“This is a public place. You’d better behave yourself, or I’ll call the police right away!”
Reg Butler gently placed the beer bottle on the table beside him. His sharp eyes were fixed on Doug Butler and the two others.
“Lao Si, come back! You’re no match for them!”
The other three were already terrified and huddled together, afraid of getting involved in the situation.
“Heh, so you must be the person who booked the place!”
Doug Butler ran his hand through his yellow hair and pointed at Reg Butler. “Hit me!”
The two thugs behind him stepped forward, ready to attack.
“Bang!”
Reg Butler snatched up the beer bottle from earlier and smashed it onto one of the hooligans. Blood flowed down the hooligan’s head.
Everyone was stunned. At that moment, Reg Butler raised his foot and kicked another thug to the ground. He then shouted to the three people behind him, “Run!”
“Damn! Lao Si is really awesome!”
The three of them watched as Reg Butler knocked down two of the men. Realizing what had happened, they rushed towards Doug Butler along with the fourth man.
Doug Butler didn’t react in time. He was immediately pushed to the side by the four of them. By the time he realized what had happened, the four of them had already run away.
By the time Reg Butler and the others had run a good distance away from the internet cafe, a police car arrived at the bar’s entrance and rushed inside.
After being beaten by the blond guy, the network manager quickly pressed the alarm button while the blond guy wasn’t looking.
The local police received the report. The guys with yellow hair didn’t have time to run and were taken away by the police right away.
Back in the dormitory, all four of them looked helpless.
“Luckily I ran fast. If I hadn’t run fast, those bastards would’ve definitely targeted me!”
The boss pursed his lips and glanced at Reg Butler.
“Don’t worry, that won’t happen. It’s likely those kids will never show up around the school again.”
Reg Butler seemed very calm. Then, he looked up at the clock in the dormitory, and suddenly, a brilliant idea struck him.
“I almost forgot! I need to return the books I borrowed from the library today. If I don’t return them, they’ll probably become overdue!”
After saying that, he grabbed the book on the table and ran out of the dormitory.
Running at a brisk pace, Reg Butler arrived at the library in no time. Unfortunately, the library was about to close at that moment.
“Luckily, I made it in time!”
After returning the books, Reg Butler felt relieved and decided to go back to his dormitory to get some rest.
Just then, a girl in a red top and jeans skirt came towards him. Her long hair flowed freely, and she had light makeup on. As Reg Butler passed by her, he felt as though the whole world was spinning around him.
“Jacqueline David?”
How could Reg Butler not know Jacqueline David, one of the three most popular girls at Deep Sea University?
Back when he first started college, he secretly asked his classmates for photos of Jacqueline David. He kept those photos for many years, and to this day, they’re still on his desk in the dormitory.
Not only that, but Jacqueline David wasn’t only considered the most beautiful student among the top three beauties of the school, but she also excelled academically, often ranking at the top of her class in exams.
She’s not only beautiful but also talented. No wonder she’s considered the dream girl of every boy in the school.
