Chapter 7 Chapter 0007
•TRISTAN•
"Hmm... Yes, Tristan, yes," she moaned. "Fuck me. Fuck me harder. Ahh yes..."
I gave her one big stroke and filled her with my cum before collapsing on the bed beside her. She shuddered as she cuddled on my chest.
"Do you think she will leave when the contract is over?" She asked after a long moment, and my heart skipped a beat.
I hadn't really thought about the scene that Raven walked into. But I didn't want to, because if I did, it'd be the same thing as feeling sorry for something I had no reason to.
I didn't owe her to be faithful to her. She wasn't my mate, and we knew that the first day we were married. We knew that five years later, it would be over.
"She has no choice," I answered. "I kept my promises with her and made her the Luna of this pack for five years. She can't tell me that I didn't keep my end of the deal." I tilted my head and looked at Rumi. "You're the one I love. If I knew we'd end up together, I would've chosen you from the beginning."
"Oh, Tristan," she blushed, leaning over for a kiss. "I love you too."
"So, are you going to give me a little more time to solve this? You and I will be together and no one will be on our way. That's a promise."
"There's no need to make promises," she smiled, my ever smiling Rumi. "I trust you. You've never disappointed me during the four years we've been together. I only wish that things happened differently."
I moved a strand of hair behind her ear, seeing the sadness behind her eyes made my throat tighten. I imagined how hard it was losing her sister because we were in love.
But I couldn't be without her, even if it meant breaking Raven’s heart.
"I will fix this," I muttered as I pulled her closer. "Don't worry, babe. We will be alright."
Later that afternoon, Rumi left and went to her house while I drafted an email to my lawyer about my divorce in my home office.
I erased every doubt in my mind about my divorce and focused on Rumi's laugh that was stuck in my mind since morning.
She was the only thing that kept me going for another day. My marriage with Raven wouldn't have survived the entire five years if it weren't for Rumi.
When I was done and had sent the email, someone knocked on the door. I answered and told them to walk in, but when I saw Raven, I wished I had told her to leave me alone.
"What do you want?" I sneered. "If you're here to talk about Rumi, you should know that there's nothing you can do about us. And I don't want you to cause trouble for her because she's your foster sister."
She closed the door and walked toward me. For a moment, I expected her to shout and beg me to reconsider her as my wife.
But she placed an envelope on the desk in front of me. The thought of what it was made my stomach tighten painfully.
"What's this?" I sneered.
"I want a divorce, Tristan," she answered. "You and my sister can be together now. We don't have to wait until June to nullify our marriage. You and I wouldn't have worked even if we tried, and I won't stand in your way anymore."
I picked up the envelope in frustration and pulled out the papers inside. I should've been happy, but it made my jaw clench that she thought she could divorce me.
The audacity.
My eyes skimmed over the legal terms, over her neat signature at the bottom of the last page. She had already signed it.
“You think this is how it works?” I asked coldly, tossing the papers back onto the desk. “You walk in here, drop this in front of me, and just… what? Set yourself free?”
Raven didn’t flinch. That irritated me even more.
“I’m not asking for your permission,” she answered. "This is what we both want."
A humorless laugh left my lips. I leaned back in my chair, studying her as if I were seeing her for the first time. She looked thinner than usual and paler.
“Do you really believe anyone will want you after this?” I scoffed. “You’ve been my Luna for five years, Raven. Everyone knows our marriage was a contract. Everyone knows I never chose you.”
She didn’t respond.
I stood up slowly and walked around the desk, circling her like prey.
“Once this is finalized, you won’t be the Alpha’s wife anymore. You won’t have this title and you won’t have this house. Do you think another Alpha will line up to marry the woman I discarded?” I tilted my head, my voice dropping lower. “No one marries a rejected Luna. They’ll see you as damaged goods.”
Her expression remained steady, but I saw her fingers curl slightly at her sides.
“You’ll be alone,” I continued mercilessly. “No title, no mate, and no protection. Just a woman who couldn’t even keep her own husband.”
“I don’t care.”
My brows furrowed. “What?”
“I don’t care if no one marries me,” she repeated. “I don’t care about the title or this house.” Her eyes met mine, and for the first time, I noticed something different in them. Not pain, or pleading, but detachment.
“I just want out.”
Something inside my chest twisted violently. “You think you can just walk away?” I snapped.
“Yes.”
“No,” I barked, stepping closer. “You don’t get to decide that. You are my wife!"
