Chapter 4 I Reject You All
Kieran POV
“Kill her. I do not want her to be a slave. Just end her with no mercy” I stared at the letter, amusement plastered on my face.
I had never been more shocked than I was at this moment. Hearing a man that a woman had loved desperately as she claimed for years decided all of this behind her.
I had read the words a dozen times already, but no matter how many times I looked, they still didn't make any sense to me.
No evidence of if she really cheated. No reasons, no pretense. Just an order as if he thought we were his executioners. As if we followed his rules.
Yes, we execute, but not in this manner.
“Are you sure you aren't reconsidering her?” My wolf asked in between my thoughts and all I could do was shove him off.
“More reasons I have always hated his gut. Let's have her head brought to him in his court tomorrow, Kieran. That's the least I can do here.” Victor announced nonchalantly, earning a glance from me.
“End her? Not even when she is your mate?”
“No!” He interjected almost immediately. “She is not my mate! You found your mate before we did and now we have to share mate's? I am actually disappointed to think you are reconsidering this mate thingy.” He barked, his eyes turning red in anger.
I crushed the letters in my fist, gritting my teeth as I threw the letters into the bin nearby. The bastard audacity!
“He is not even trying to be subtle about it.” Silas who leaned against the wall far away from me, his arms crossed said after contemplating.
Victor scoffed, pushing away from his seat. “I have a feeling that something isn't right, though. He might be scared. She knows his secret.”
My eyes widened as the thought of what he said might be true. So true. “Damn right, he's scared. But we don't know why.”
Alexander had thrown his mate away, sold her like she was nothing, humiliated her infront of his pack…and yet, she was still a threat to him?
He wasn't afraid of losing her, he was afraid of her letting his secrets out.
Silas let out a slow breath, his hand hanging in his mouth like he had a whole lot, running in his mind. “That tells us something, doesn't it?”
“It tells us she's worth keeping. But on the look of things, I think she still needs to be killed.” Victor said, grinning darkly as we turned our gaze on him.
“C'mon!”
“I am being serious here. I have a plan. We torture her so badly, she tells us his secret and we execute her before she spills anything about us to anyone. She is like water.”
I gave him a pointed disturbed look. “She's not a weapon, Victor. It is obvious she is just a victim. Although we do not know if all of this is a facade yet.”
“She could be,” he replied easily, rolling his shoulders. “And clearly, Alexander is terrified of her potential.”
That much was true anyway.
“So, do you think we should move on with the plan?” Victor asked and I shot him a hard glare.
“What plan? We don't take orders from Alexander. That much is clear. We can't just murder someone like they are nothing.”
Silas lowered his head. “And the girl?
I exhaled slowly. “We keep her alive. For now. Just like I said earlier. ”
Victor grinned wider. “I do not like where this is going.”
“Then if you don't, let's have a conversation with the girl in question.” I offered and the both of them shot me a glare like I had just something that was above their power.
“Going over? For what reasons? To get caught up with that scent again? No, I will not do that. She clearly needs to be out of this pack, don't you get that? Her mate wants her gone. Must you always be the saviour? You did this once and it landed us somewhere we” Victor flared, pointing at him and Silas as he continued. “ Somewhere we shouldn't have been. You made a fool of us for over a year, Kieran. And you want to start on with this because you believe she is our mate?”
It was hard. Suddenly it was hard for me to swallow the lump that had gathered in my throat. I felt ache inside of me as memories I never wanted to open again came back, flying in my head and causing a lot of headaches, but would they even care?.
“We need to see her. If any of you isn't fine with it then you won't be forced.” I stated and without saying another word, I walked out of the room, trying to hide the emotions that had built up in me and my trembling hands.
For years I have endured this pain so much but still it felt like I would never Jump out of the roof.
I had not taken more than three steps when I heard them from behind.
“Wait, Kieran. We are coming along.” Silas voice said sharply as I halted to a stop, turning my gaze back to them while they hurriedly walked towards me.
Reaching the underground cells, we were led to the cell where Elara is and her eyes opened wide when she saw us matching in.
“Probably here to finally kill me.” She muttered under her breath, but I could still hear it.
“Well, maybe if you will give us what we want peacefully. We can consider letting you live as a slave. However, if you have decided to prove that you would be reluctant, we will go ahead with the orders from Alexander, your Alpha.”
I could see that disappointed look on her face and proof that she had been crying in here all day and faking all the proud moments. Acting all strong not to be used randomly.
“He wants me dead?” She asked, bluntly.
I stared at her for a minute before nodding. “But if you can tell us what you know about him, then we might consid….”
I had not even finished my statement when she dropped the bombshell.
“That we all are mates? I'm sorry but I reject you all.”
