Chapter 10 Who are you?

Elder Daniel stepped forward with his hands behind his back as if the broken doors, dead guards, and blood on the floor were nothing important to him. He stopped a few steps away from Justin and looked him over from head to toe before speaking.

“I'll admit something,” Daniel said calmly. “You’ve got courage. Not many people can walk into the Lawson Estate, destroy half the security, and still stand here breathing.”

His eyes moved briefly toward Kane’s broken body lying near the entrance.

“You defeated Kane, but don’t misunderstand what that means. Kane works for this family. I do not stand on the same level as him.”

The guests quickly found their voices again.

“That’s Elder Daniel.”

“Now the real fight begins.”

“That man is finished.”

Daniel took another step.

“I am giving you a chance because today is Young Master Damien’s birthday, and I would rather not turn this hall into a burial ground.”

He looked directly at Justin.

“Kneel down. Apologize to Young Master Damien for your disrespect. Then break both your own legs. Do that, and I might allow you to leave alive.”

The words sounded less like an offer and more like an order already decided.

Several guests nodded immediately.

“He should accept.”

“Elder Daniel is already showing mercy.”

“If it were another day, he would've been dead already.”

Justin listened quietly.

Then he gave a small laugh.

Not loud.

Not forced.

Just enough to make the room fall silent again.

He tilted his head slightly and looked at Daniel.

“So you're Daniel.”

His voice stayed calm.

“The man your guards kept talking about outside.”

A few people inhaled sharply.

“He's mocking Elder Daniel.”

“Has he gone crazy?”

“You’ve got quite a reputation,” Justin added, his voice carrying a faint mockery.

The hall became quiet.

Daniel’s face changed immediately. The calm look disappeared from his eyes.

“How dare you speak to me like that?” Daniel said sharply. “This is the last warning you will ever get. Drop to your knees right now, or I will break every bone in your body with my own hands.”

Justin took a slow step forward.

“Kneel?”

He looked at Daniel for a moment, then gave a small scoff.

“You actually think someone like me would kneel before someone like you?”

His eyes moved over Daniel calmly.

“You're not worth it.”

The words landed hard.

Voices spread through the hall.

“Did he just say that?”

“He's openly insulting Elder Daniel…”

“That idiot really wants to die tonight.”

Some guests backed away while others stared without blinking.

Daniel slowly clenched his fists.

A strange purple energy began spreading around his arms like smoke wrapping around metal. It gathered around his hands and twisted violently.

“So you chose the hard way.”

His voice turned colder.

“Fine.”

“I'll bury you myself.”

He stepped forward.

The floor cracked under his foot.

Then he disappeared.

Several guests lost sight of him completely.

One moment he was standing across the hall.

The next moment he was already in front of Justin.

His fist shot forward with terrifying force.

“Kill him!” Damien shouted from behind. “Break him apart! I want him dead!”

A few guests grinned.

Some already believed the fight was over.

Everyone inside knew one thing about Daniel.

When he attacked, people died.

But before the punch could land—

Justin raised one hand.

Simple.

Direct.

His palm closed around Daniel’s fist.

The sound stopped.

The movement stopped.

Everything stopped.

Daniel’s arm remained frozen in Justin’s grip.

The hall fell silent.

Someone near the back spoke in disbelief.

“…What?”

Another guest stared with wide eyes.

“He blocked it…”

“With one hand?”

“That’s impossible…”

The purple energy around Daniel’s arm shook violently, but his fist still refused to move forward.

He pushed harder.

More power poured into the attack.

Nothing changed.

Justin’s hand remained locked around his punch like solid iron.

Justin tilted his head slightly and looked at him calmly.

“You talk too much,” he said. “I expected more from you.”

Then it happened.

A golden aura burst out from Justin's body.

It did not explode wildly.

It simply spread.

But the moment it appeared, the entire hall changed.

The air became heavy.

Several guests suddenly found their legs giving out beneath them.

Wine glasses slipped from trembling hands and shattered on the floor.

The lights above shook.

Cracks spread across parts of the wall.

Daniel’s purple energy started breaking apart.

The power around his arm twisted violently for a second before collapsing completely.

Gone.

Like it had never existed.

Daniel’s eyes widened.

His arm felt heavier.

His breathing changed.

For the first time since stepping into the hall, he could no longer keep his calm face.

No…

This pressure…

This presence…

His mind started pulling up old stories he had once dismissed as impossible.

One man.

One soldier.

One name feared across battlefields.

The man who ended a war and disappeared before anyone could reward him.

Daniel’s throat tightened.

His voice dropped lower.

“That…”

He stared at Justin's face again as if trying to see through it.

“That can't be…”

Justin said nothing.

The golden aura continued flowing around him quietly.

Daniel’s hand began losing strength inside Justin’s grip.

“Who…”

His voice nearly failed him.

“Who exactly are you?”
