Chapter 2 Chapter Two

Kamari’s Pov

I opened my eyes slowly as a heavy splash of cold water hit my face. I stared at my surrounding I was still my house in my kitchen but something was different. My hands and legs were tied to a chair, my entire body soaked with water, my hair dripping with water, Did something happened?. I was seated on a chair and in front of me no other person than the Muderer—Luciano De Rossi.

“Welcome back, Kamari. I didn’t realise that three buckets full of water would wake you up from your slumber." Luciano beamed from where he stood. He stared directly at me as he spoke, his deep blue eyes boring in mine.

“Why are you standing there surrounded by these men? I assume they must have caught you before you tried escaping right?" I joked as I glanced at Jasper, my husband's right hand man. “ He is the one that killed your boss, you all should be after him for his actions."

"Who do you think Jasper is? Your husband's right hand man? Haven’t you realised it already? You are the one tied to a chair, not me. You might be slow brained right now, but Jasper and the rest of the guards here are under me,” He smirked as he moved closer to me. He bent over just lower enough to reach my ears, " you are screwed Kam. The moment these guys discover that your fingerprints are all over Davin’s blood they won’t hesitate to pull the trigger and blow your head off.”

My breath caught. Did he really want to blackmail me in front of Davin’s guards? Or has he already done that? " You can fucking lie to these guys here but one thing is certain, you can’t fabricate them to the police. You will be paying dearly for your sins,” I whispered back at him, and for some reason he smirked as he stood upright.

“Police? He chuckled, They are just a bunch of fragile chickens in uniform. What would you think they will do to a man that runs the whole country? Arrest me? Or throw me in jail? Don’t be silly Kamari.”

“Now let me be clear to you Kamari. Your husband Davin, ran away with my shipments and my cargos. But before I traded with him, we made a deal and you are part of that deal. Do you know how you are part of it? Because your husband sold you to me.” He muttered, signalling one of the men beside him to bring him his phone from the kitchen cabinet.

I froze for a second but still I refused to believe what he had just said as it sounded like a practiced lie. “ You lying piece of shit,” I yelled, not minding if the guards would blow my head off just as he said. “After killing him that is the next lie you can fabricate right? My husband made a deal with you? And you expect me to believe that? Oh yes he did."

He arched his brow but said nothing. I pressed further, “I need to see the agreement papers with my husband’s signature on them before I can be convinced that my husband did make an agreement or a deal with you.”

“What if you find out that your husband used you as a collectural?” He asked in a proud tone that he was definitely someone who is full of himself. I felt inside my heart crumble, My parents did the same thing to me and now my husband? Someone I thought I had found love and peace in. I still stood my ground refusing to let him see me crumble or break.

" Just mere paper work won’t convince me I need all the proof you have since you claim that my husband made a deal with you.” He gave me a cocky smile that made him dangerously handsome.

“Whatever you wish for, princess." He bowed his head slightly with a deep chuckle. “ Don’t you call me that!" I resorted. Luciano tapped his phone, and a sharp beep filled the kitchen.“Listen,” he muttered. My breath caught as my husband’s voice crackled through the speaker.

“I told you. I don’t have the money right now,” Davin hissed, his voice low, impatient. “Just take her. Do whatever you want with her. She’ll obey. She’s stupidly loyal.”

My heart dropped.

Another man—Luciano’s voice answered calmly, “So you agree to the shipment exchange? Your wife in place of the payment?” Davin scoffed. “I already said yes. Move her tonight. I don’t care where you send her. As long as my debt clears, she’s yours. She won’t fight back.”

My fingers trembled. That wasn’t my husband. That was a stranger. “You’re selling her like cargo,” Luciano said in the recording, almost taunting.

Davin sneered. “Stop pretending you care. Just get her out of my house before she suspects anything. I can’t stand her face anymore.” Then the recording clicked off.

My lips parted but no sound came out. “He… he said that about me?” My voice cracked. Luciano watched me with unsettling calm. “Now you understand why I killed him. He is my debtor and has to be eliminated.”

“ And as it stands now, you are my possession, I can decide what I want with you. Maybe have you killed or have you been my sex slave?" A sex slave? That was what I was to Davin and nothing more. I had to work for my own survival despite the fact that he was capable of catering for our needs. I thought I had been freed from this cage but somehow I will be ending up in another.

"That is a loving wife isn't it? Suffer for her husband’s crime even if it will totally crush her ego completely,” He taunted, a big cocky smile on his face.

“Davin was never a husband to me. He was more like a monster to me, the same type of monster that you are." I muttered weakly. I could feel my body giving up but I struggled to breath, to stay alive.

“ Oh princess. Davin was never a monster. I am the monster you should be afraid of isn’t? I am now your new master and you are no longer Mrs Davin." He smiled in relief and accomplishment.

“Asshole." I spat with the last strength I had inside of me. “You can cover up all your crimes but one day it will surely catch up with you and bet me your life will be as miserable as those begging on the street."

"Do anything you want with her but don’t kill her.” Before my eyes

finally went shut I heard him whisper to Jasper.
