Chapter 3 He is not my brother
“Okay…” she whispered.
“You are no longer allowed to sleep on my bed anymore” he said gently, but pinned her a serious look as he reached for her hand. “And I want you to stop kissing me on the lips. It not proper”
Camilla stared blankly at him for long seconds as if what he said had not registered in her mind yet.
“Cam” he squeezed her hands, “did you hear me?”
She sounded like she was going to start crying any minute. “Is that why you don’t come home to me anymore?”
“What? No.” He shook his head quickly. “I told you… the workload in school has been fucking crazy”
“So why are you saying this… You don’t want me anymore” she whispered, her eyes filling.
“Of course I want you. You’re my sister Cam… my only favorite person. But this closeness is just… unhealthy”
Truthfully, that was also why he doesn't return home so often. Every time he came home, she clung to him like she couldn’t breathe without him and it made him tingle in places he shouldn't and feel things he shouldn't for his sister. The best thing to do was to put some boundaries and distance between them.
“But how is it not healthy Max?” she whispered. “I love you”
His heart skipped a beat. He breathed in and out, trying to control his breathing. Was it rage, anger, or something forbidden he felt.
“Cam… we’re siblings”
Before he could blink, she was sitting on his thighs, her legs on either side of his lap, her arms locking behind his neck.
“Please don’t push me away” she whispered, leaning into him.
Her lips brushed his own in a soft amateur kiss.
Something in his body jerked and stood erect instantly.
His hand shot out and held her shoulder firmly. He broke the kiss and pushed her to look into her face
“The fuck cam?! Don't do that again”
She gave him a flirty smile and began rocking herself against the bulging tension in his trousers.
She had an evil smile on her face, obviously aware that she was getting her desired reaction from him even though he was trying to hide it from his face… his standing dick was enough evidence.
Both surprised, shocked and angry all at once, Max held her around the waist and lifted her up. He made her stand on the floor, pushed himself up from the bed and guided her gently towards the door.
“What are you doing?” she demanded.
“Get out”
“No!” She hugged him tightly. “I want to stay with you. Please”
“Not anymore Cam. I don’t want you in my room again. Let go”
But she clung even tighter.
It took effort to untangle her arms. He closed the door immediately afterward, leaning against it, digging his fingers into his hair.
He had really made a big mistake.
The next day was Friday and Camilla was just coming out of the bathroom that evening when she heard the sound of a door closing.
Max had been avoiding her all day and it hurt. It felt totally wrong because he was changing. He always wanted her around him but now…
She missed him so much it felt like her lungs were shrinking.
She quickly creamed her body, put on a black top and black pajama shorts. Her damp hair fell over her shoulders as she combed it quickly. She didn’t care how she looked. She just needed to see him.
She left her room and without knocking, she pushed his door open but he wasn't there.
When she was about to turn and go down stairs, she heard voices from the room opposite.
She walked to the door and pushed it open and she came to a stop.
Max and Zoe were on the bed... Only that, Max was sitting with his back pressed against the headboard of the bed and typing something on a laptop calmly, while Zoe was lying beside him on her side and looking into the laptop… She was too close for Camilla's comfort.
Max looked up when the door slammed against the wall. His entire body tensed. He had been avoiding Camilla all day, but seeing her angry like that did something sharp and painful inside him.
Camilla’s glare shot at the girl on the bed. Zoe lifted her brow with an annoying smirk. Camilla rolled her eyes. She didn't know when the she-demon came. Must be when she was taking a nape.
“What is she doing here again?!” Camilla demanded, her eyes on Maxwell.
“She’s staying for a week or two,” Max replied simply. “She has something to sort out”
Camilla’s jaw tightened. “It’s time to sleep. Let’s go.”
Zoe’s eyebrow lifted higher. Max sighed.
“Go and sleep, Cam. I’m busy”
She stomped her foot lightly like she used to as a child when things were not done her way “I want us to sleep together in your room. You think I don’t know you have been avoiding me? I miss you…”
A muscle in his jaw ticked. His voice dropped dangerously “Cam, I told you last night… no more sleeping together. You’re grown. You need to learn to sleep alone. Soon you will be going to University. You have to learn to sleep alone”
“Sleeping alone doesn’t need learning” she snapped. “I don’t want to sleep alone. I want to sleep with you… in your room or mine. I just want you there”
Max closed his eyes and wiped a hand over his face. When did she get like this? Her boldness was growing every day.
How the hell did she develop something so sinful for him at such a young age.
Soon, she will go to school… far away from home and her mind was already spoiled. He doesn't want boys hovering around her in school, or worse… she, trying to attract them.
And it made his inside boil.
His mind travelled to the previous day and he sucked in a calming breath… Camilla actually tried to seduce him
Zoe finally spoke. “Little girl, let your brother work. He’s helping me out with something very important”
Camilla glared at her. “He’s not my brother”
The words punched Max straight in the chest.
Zoe smirked.
Cam stormed out of the room, slamming the door behind her.
For a moment, Max couldn’t breathe. He stared at the door she just left from.
Not her brother?
So what did she think he was?
Later that night, when he finished helping Zoe, he went to his room. Cam wasn’t there. He went to hers and found her asleep, curled tightly under the blanket, breathing softly.
He walked in quietly, pulled the blanket up over her, and stood beside her bed for a long moment watching her sleep.
Then he turned off the light and walked out quietly, closing the door behind him.
He leaned on her door and took in a heavy breath.
He knew for a fact that if she keeps being this rebellious, things between him and his supposed baby sister would change… and it might not be good for her…
