Chapter 4 Crazy vampire
“My son, what are you doing?” His mother walked up to him, stretching her own hand to remove Evan's hand from her son. However, she was stopped by her son. Evan wasn't comfortable. She could feel a dark aura coming from the man holding her. All manner of questions stirred within her.
‘Pet?What is that supposed to mean? How the hell will I become someone's pet? Is he even a normal pureblooded vampire? Why are his eyes not red?’
“Mother, this will be my pet from now on. It's no big deal,” came his calm words that kept startling Evan. He told her so firmly that she couldn't even think of struggling. Her blood in that area must have frozen by now. Her breath was caught in her throat, and her other free hand was extremely cold. She couldn't stand the pressure from this room, and Ezekiel's aura as well seemed to be giving her a hard time standing. Both her legs were extremely weak and shaking; thank the Lord for this big ball gown covering her legs, else it would've been a point of attention for everyone.
“My son!Look at what rubbish you're blabbing out. She is just a lowly human. Nothing more.”
“That's why I said she's my pet.We will not talk about this anymore.” With that, Ezekiel pulled Evan with him. He took her upstairs.
‘Huh? Isn't this the direction to his room? Why are we headed there? Wait? What is the meaning of a pet?’ thought Evan. Many questions in her head couldn't be answered. What is wrong with Ezekiel? Only someone crazy would think of something as foolish and senseless as this. Evan herself started seeing him as a foolish duke.
‘He isn't qualified to be a duke! I guess the lord of the land made a huge mistake!’ thought Evan. Ezekiel pulled the maid to the third floor of the building. To say Evan saw this place was, in fact, beautiful was an understatement! She gasped at every delicate presence. When they got to Ezekiel's room, he opened the door with just one punch. Still holding the maid, he took her into the room. When they were both inside, he let go of her hand. Taking two steps back, he viewed her.
“Clean up the room. Make sure it's clean,” with that, he left through the door.
Evan was stunned. She blinked multiple times.
“What?Do pets clean? Crazy vampire.” She looked around the elegant room, which seemed like heaven. This was more than her room. She quickly ran to the bed and threw her body on it, happily giggling. This felt so unreal.
Never in her wildest dreams did she dream of lying in such a soft, cozy bed. She was all smiles. Remembering that she was asked to clean the room and not lay on the bed.
She stood up quickly, arranging the bed properly. Her eyes darted all over the place, but she couldn't find a single speck of dirt.
She even checked the windows, but to no avail; nothing was dusty or dirty. What was she supposed to clean?
“Huh?I can't see anything dirty,” she said to herself. This was because the room was cleaned and well polished. The fragrance in it was cozy. It was obvious that this room had just been cleaned with care. Exhausted, Evan looked for a corner where she could lay down.
She was just a lowly maid; if she was caught lying on the duke's bed, this would be her last day on earth. The room was tidy and neat. She could even roll on it all day. Evan laid in the corner of the room; she slowly drifted to sleep. When the duke returned, he saw the girl sleeping in the corner of the room. He sighed as he walked to the bed and threw his body on it.
He looked up at the ceiling. He grew up with a Lord and only came to visit his parents occasionally. Whenever he did, something usually caught his attention. This girl—he had watched her grow up, watching her beautiful smile as she danced in the garden every evening.
“Pfft.” Sometimes he hated himself for doing that, but he couldn't help it. The coat he was wearing was suffocating him bit by bit. He wanted to take it off immediately. Suddenly, his throat was itchy and dry. He took a long breath as he inhaled a sweet scent. Something was off ever since he came into this room—that smell. He was dying to have a taste. It smelled so warm and fresh. His head automatically turned in its direction. It was none other than Evan.
Evan woke up on the spot, rubbing her eyes. As soon as her eyes collided with Ezekiel's, she stood up immediately, bowing her head in a sign of respect.
“Milord,” she greeted him with a slight bow.
“Hmm, get ready. I'm about to take my first bite,” was Ezekiel's reply, sending daggers through Evan's heart.
