Chapter 5 Saving People
"Blake, right?"
"I don't know what your relationship is with the Gould family, but since you're willing to marry my daughter, I still have to thank you!"
Stone Gilbert walked quickly toward Blake, thanking him with complete sincerity.
"No, sir, I should be the one saying thank you!"
"Being able to marry such a beautiful lady as Miss Gilbert is absolutely my honor!"
Blake's attitude was equally sincere.
He showed no pride at Stone's thanks, and instead expressed his true feelings.
Stone was slightly taken aback. "You're not worried about Shirley's condition?"
"To be honest, I'm still not sure what illness Shirley has. If it suddenly flares up at some point, it could lead to irreversible consequences!"
Before this, Stone had tried to find other husbands for Shirley.
But no matter who they were, after seeing Shirley in this state, they would rather offend the entire Gilbert family than marry Shirley.
This outcome left Stone extremely helpless.
Even though he had connections everywhere and outstanding abilities, when it came to his daughter's happiness, he couldn't really force anyone.
After all, he knew better than anyone what condition his daughter was in.
However, Blake's response at this moment far exceeded his expectations.
This guy seemed to have no resistance to Shirley at all. In fact, he could even sense a hint of excitement in his attitude.
Stone really couldn't figure out what this person's intentions were.
"It's okay, sir. Miss Gilbert doesn't have an illness. It's very likely that she carries a special bloodline. I can help suppress Miss Gilbert's problem and restore her to normal!"
Blake could sense that Stone had no ill will toward him, so when it came to Shirley's issue, he chose to speak honestly.
"Really?"
"You're sure you can treat Shirley's condition?"
"Give me half an hour. I'm confident I can bring Shirley back to consciousness, and she won't relapse again for a while!"
Actions speak louder than words!
No amount of explanation was as direct as taking action.
Blake decisively chose to act, and also planned to use the methods Occam had taught him to see exactly what kind of bloodline Shirley possessed.
"Alright, from now on, you're Shirley's husband."
"I'll send someone to register you two. As for the wedding, we'll discuss it later after Shirley wakes up!"
Whether what Blake said was true or false, finding a man who didn't dislike or reject his daughter was a good thing.
As a father, Stone just wanted to make this happen quickly, to avoid any complications.
"Thank you for Mr. Gilbert's approval. I'll start the treatment now!"
Blake didn't refuse either. His body actually needed a woman with a special bloodline to help suppress it.
This marriage to Shirley was also a good thing for him.
With that, Blake directly carried Shirley in his arms and couldn't wait to return to Shirley's room on the second floor, closing the door tightly behind him.
Just then, Shirley's mother Lida arrived late, and happened to witness Blake impatiently carrying her daughter into the room.
"Stone, what's going on?"
"Why is Shirley being carried into a room by some strange man?"
Looking at his wife Lida's unhappy expression, Stone laughed heartily.
"Honey, I was just about to share some good news with you, and here you are. Our daughter has finally found her happiness."
"This young man named Blake not only doesn't mind Shirley's condition, but also says he might be able to cure her. I've already sent someone to register them. From now on, we won't need to worry about Shirley anymore."
"What?"
Lida's face changed dramatically when she heard Stone's explanation.
"Who gave you permission to make this decision on your own?"
"I think this Blake is just lusting after our daughter's beauty and wants to take advantage of her. This talk about treating her is complete nonsense. We've consulted so many experts who were all helpless, so how could he cure Shirley when he knows nothing about medicine?"
"No, I need to go check. I absolutely can't let this guy succeed!"
Without giving Stone a chance to explain further, Lida rushed up to the second floor.
"Open this door!"
Lida was very agitated, pounding heavily on the door with her hand, wishing she could rush in immediately.
Inside the room, Blake had already learned through special means what special bloodline Shirley carried.
It turned out that what Shirley possessed was the most glorious Gallic Rooster bloodline in all of France.
This bloodline was extremely rare and extremely powerful.
Once it flared up, it was very difficult to control!
Fortunately, Blake's body contained the Wolf King bloodline, and even just surface physical contact could successfully suppress her bloodline.
However, to completely control this bloodline, the two of them would need to merge together.
But now was clearly not the right time to do that, and Blake never forced anyone anyway.
Slowly activating the Wolf King bloodline, Blake successfully suppressed the Gallic Rooster bloodline in Shirley's body.
But after sensing the presence of the Gallic Rooster bloodline, the Wolf King bloodline in Blake's body became extremely agitated, as if it could make him lose control at any moment.
For a brief moment, Blake really wanted to pounce on her and complete the fusion.
Fortunately, Blake still had a shred of rationality left and forcibly suppressed this impulse.
But this forced behavior was extremely mentally draining, which made Blake look like he wasn't in very good shape, and he collapsed onto the bed.
After being suppressed by the Wolf King bloodline, Shirley's condition clearly improved.
Just then, the door was opened from outside by Lida.
When knocking repeatedly got no response, Lida became frantic and simply found a key to open the door from outside.
The moment she opened the door, she saw Blake lying on the bed.
"What are you doing? Get off my daughter's bed right now!"
Lida angrily rushed toward Blake and pulled him up from the bed.
"Mom!"
Shirley, gradually regaining consciousness, looked up and saw the furious Lida, and instinctively spoke.
Lida, who had been in a rage, immediately softened when she heard Shirley's voice.
"Oh my God!"
"My daughter, you're awake! You've regained consciousness! God bless, I knew you'd be alright!"
Watching his wife and daughter embrace, Stone, standing in the doorway, instinctively turned his gaze to the somewhat weakened Blake.
Blake seemed to have some real skills.
Not only was he presentable, but he actually had some tricks up his sleeve.
Shirley, whom all the doctors were helpless to treat, had actually woken up under his care!
