Chapter 3 Chapter 3
ANELISA'S POV
Astonishment reeled up inside me and the cool breeze that blew from the sleek window swept my skin.
"Do you think you're so special?" He barked, his fangs were out as his eyes morphed into a yellowish glare.
His lips curved into a snarl as his words spoke entirely of his disdain.
What was he saying in all of this?
The vicious-looking men were just a distance, grinning and my father, who was adjacent to me, wore that proud look at his son-in-law for stopping me.
"I'm not going with anyone!" I retorted, dragging my bag and struggling to get on my feet.
However, Peris grabbed my neck, pressing it so hard that I couldn't breathe, and my boneless limp was forced to rise.
No one was stopping him and the skin on my face shrunk as I wrestled out of his hold.
"Arghh!" I screeched, kicking my legs, but they weren't on the ground anymore.
"It's not your decision to make! The sight of you disgust me!" He brawls while gurgling. My trachea burns as he tightens his grip and flung me aside.
My body swooshed in the air, and then I landed at the feet of these men.
I could feel my bones crack as I went numb, the blood left in my dried.
I let out a gasp, unable to breath while my head lowered with rage and grief seething through me.
His words registered in my head like a resounding hum that sank through my skin.
The dense air hit my nose and I felt my body jerking from the ground so I had to lazily stand upright with quaking legs.
My body hasn't digested the excruciating pain he inflicted on me as I shut my eyes, panting slowly.
When I raised my wandering eyes up, I met Peris' hot gaze.
"You're going with them" Peris commanded with a heavy breath, and I coughed, rubbing my throat.
My anger simmered in my eyes as tears flowed, and I was forced to accept fate.
"Well, I must say, I'm proud you're a part of this pack, to discipline a disrespectful wimp like her", my stepmom announced with a wicked chuckle.
"It's a good thing you suggested this negotiation in the first place" the father proclaimed, striding closer to Peris, who nodded in delight and I widened my eyes in horror.
It only means Peris planned all these just to get rid of me.
It was obvious, he must have been frightened that I might expose the truth and just wanted to silence me.
His face wore a mischievous glint, as though plotting something else, one that would consume me.
"It's my honor to serve this pack and such girls shouldn't exist in society."
"How could you! After everything!" I retorted, unable to control my emotions, but a slap landed on my face.
I swirled my face, my hair covered me and I didn't move. All my eyes envisioned were stars dancing in circles.
It was my father, cursing at me for never talking back to the Alpha.
"Enough of the drama and take her away!" Peris announced and one of the men carried me over his shoulder like a lifeless being.
Everything was upside down as my body bang clumsily on him, as I wrote, turned, but his strong grip wasn't yielding to my demand.
"Let me go!" I protested, my voice shrieking, barely noticeable. While they walked me out of the castle, I could see Hypatia. Her eyes reduced me to a mere shadow.
She was obstructing their path and I fumed inside of me with unforgiving eyes as the betrayal still struck me.
It dawned on me that she always stole everything from me yet claimed to be the only one who cares.
I went speechless with so much pain in my heart that it overshadowed the pain in my body.
"I wish you a happy love life in your new home" she muttered, stepping aside for the men to leave with me, and I was thrown inside a carriage.
More like a cage, stripped with rods and bondage. I felt the palm of another, constraining me with chains like the slave I was.
My body jolted on the hard iron, as I curled myself to a corner, sobbing and trying to stay strong, but it wasn't working.
My eyes held the rail of this carriage as I squatted in it like an animal trapped.
The wheels were riding fast while I glared at the castle. I could see them all standing in a row with stern eyes perching on me.
This isn't the end of my story, they'd pay.
However, would everything have changed if I never looked back at the castle?
**
I sat back on the carriage, my body sore and I flickered my eyes as only the rhythmic creaking of wooden wheels was heard.
It was a bumpy and never-ending ride which came to a halt in the forest. Fear sank inside me as darkness looped, the trees of the night stood still, their branches etched against the sky.
The air is filled with damp earth and decayed leaves.
The harsh wind rustled dried leaves on my face. It was obvious the atmosphere was heavy with the weight of despair.
It dawned on me, that I wasn't the only one here, though my vision was blurry, but something was off, the fact that these men weren't our kind.
I couldn't feel that wolverine scent and the aura was different.
Their bodies towered over us, their scales glinting in the flickering light of the moon.
Their eyes burned with fierce fire and that flame fueled their brutality, and we were pushed forward.
Most of us stumbled and fell, our bodies were battered and bruised from the relentless march.
However, my eyes couldn't look away, their appearance was terrifying.
Their claws swapped through the air with deadly precision and I tried not to be a part of those who would face.
I am afraid to say the word, my heart was too broken to assert where I was.
We were only females, and the weakest of them all, which was bizarre.
Our bodies shackled and shuffled relentlessly towards a larger carriage.
The chains on us clanked and rattled and the disgusting faces of the men before us was taunting.
It seemed as though they were leading us towards a borderline, and it dawned on me that I'd be taken to a place I fear the most.
My body trembles as my breath catches in my throat and my heart flips, and I wish to start a run, but it would be futile because I was trapped.
The stories I always hear about those who cross the border and never return because that part of the world belongs to them, the dragons!
