Chapter 13

He frowned and took a step forward, grabbing Zona Lawrence's arm.

"Go to a banquet with me tomorrow."

Zona Lawrence looked up, a little surprised, "Sir, what are you talking about? How could I go to a banquet with you!"

Zona Lawrence also froze for a moment, but she quickly realized it was just another way Amos Sari wanted to humiliate her, and she quickly refused.

Amos Sari didn't give her any reason to refuse, "You go where I tell you to go, do you think you have the right to refuse me?"

Amos Sarai's domineering words left Zona Lawrence speechless, yes! She was now Amos Sarai's woman, his servant, and he was her master. Of course, whatever Amos Sarai said was law, how could she have the right to resist.

She gave a self-mocking smile, "Yes, sir, I understand. If you don't mind having this lowly servant."

Although she had agreed, who says she can't express her dissatisfaction! Zona Lawrence's words changed Amos Sari's expression.

He abruptly shook Zona Lawrence's hand, his tone cold, "Your are getting bigger and bigger. I warn you, when you attend the banquet with me, you must not bring me into disgrace, otherwise, you know the consequences."

Amos Sarri finished delivering a threatening remark, turned and went upstairs. He didn't know if he would be driven mad by facing Zona Lawrence again, so he decided to leave before he lost his temper, so as not to lose his patience and sew the mouth of this little woman shut.

Wanda Lawrence had been looking forward to this party early on and had also followed the advice of Mrs. Lawrence, preparing to personally dress Amos Sarri in a formal gown, but every time she went to Amos Sarri's company, she came up empty-handed.

After leaving her message last time, she left, and this time she came to the company intending to personally find Amos Sarri to discuss it, only to find out that Amos Sarri wasn't there again.

Wanda Lawrence looked at her with a look of helplessness, her expression not looking particularly good, but she knew she had to maintain her gentle image in front of others, so she said with some sadness.

"He's not here either, did he go home?"

"I don't know about that either, the President doesn't tell me his schedule, and anything he does tell me, I'll remember, but anything he doesn't tell me, I don't know either." the explained somewhat embarrassed.

She saw Wanda Lawrence's even more regretful expression and thought about what Amos Sari had said before, so to supplement her inability to fulfill Wanda Lawrence's wishes, she leaned in and whispered in Wanda Lawrence's ear.

"Miss Lawrence, you don't need to be too regretful, our president really likes you. I told him everything you said, but he didn't agree to accept your evening gown."

Wanda Lawrence changed her expression upon hearing this, but soon, the secretary's words brought her to smile.

"Because our president said he would prepare a set for you. At the time, he said you didn't need to prepare a dress, as she planned to design one herself."

"Miss Lawrence, you are truly fortunate. I have never seen our president so concerned about a woman. It seems your good fortune is not far off."

Wanda Lawrence felt pleased with the secretary's words, but she said shyly on her face, "I didn't even know, Amos Saroye, he really is something, he didn't tell me anything, could it be he wants to give me a surprise?"

The secretary is a sharp-tongued person; hearing this, she immediately followed Zona Lawrence Wanda Lawrence's meaning and said, "That's right, that's right, the president must have thought so, he just wants to give you a surprise."

“You're already engaged, you know, maybe the CEO is just planning to propose to you at this party!”

The secretary thought Amos Sali did seem to be quite nice to Wanda Lawrence, so she decided to flatter her. Her words made Wanda Lawrence feel quite elated, while also stirring up anticipation in her heart.

If it's really as the secretary said, Amos Sarri wants to propose to her at the banquet, then should she do some preparation?

Wanda Lawrence's heart began to race, feeling she hadn't done enough. If she were really to be proposed to by Amos Sarri, she had to do better, to surpass everyone else.

Thinking about this, she couldn't stay any longer and simply took the secretary's hand, saying, "Alright, I understand, thank you. If I really marry Amos Sarri, I will definitely give you a big red envelope."

At this point, she shifted the conversation and said in a hushed tone, "But you shouldn't let Amos Sarri know about this. If he finds out that I already know his purpose, he will be disappointed. Let's both pretend we don't know and keep this surprise until the very end."

The secretary looked as if she understood, "I know, Miss Lawrence. I'll keep my mouth shut tight."

Wanda Lawrence left satisfied, but didn't expect that the day of the banquet would indeed bring her a huge surprise.

Zona Lawrence, dressed in a white gown with a diamond-embellished bustier, looked at herself in the full-length mirror, hardly believing she was wearing it.

She looked at herself in the mirror and always felt as if everything was a dream. She had originally thought that what Amos Sari had said about her attending the banquet was just talk, but she never expected him to actually prepare an evening gown for her.

Moreover, it was such an exquisite evening gown, the style of which was consistent with the style of the banquets she had attended before.

Zona Lawrence in the mirror was wearing a sweet makeup, radiating an elegant demeanor of a white rose.

“Is this really me?” Zona Lawrence began to doubt herself.

The butler eyed Zona Lawrence with a hint of , but ultimately had to admit that she looked truly beautiful in this outfit.

Although she knew Zona Lawrence's status, she couldn't help but admire her natural beauty in her heart. The butler snapped back to reality, glanced at her watch, and said.

“Alright, it's almost time, put on your shoes and let's go! The master is still waiting for you outside.”

Zona Lawrence let out an "Oh," and hurriedly started to change her shoes. The butler frowned, seeing that Zona Lawrence hadn't put them on in a while, and directly stepped forward to pin her down on the bed, then crouched down to prepare to change her shoes for her.

Zona Lawrence, flattered, stood up quickly and refused, "No, it's not okay, Auntie, I'll do it myself."

The butler narrowed his eyes, "This is what I'm supposed to do, anyone could do it. Just sit there, we're all here to serve Mr."

Zona Lawrence reluctantly sat down, but her heart remained uneasy as the butler helped her change her shoes, only letting out a sigh of relief once the shoes were changed.

The door of the small room swung open, and Zona Lawrence radiated dazzling beauty. Standing at the doorway, she was like Cinderella turning into a princess, undergoing a magnificent transformation.

Amos Sari was sitting on the living room sofa reading a magazine when he heard the noise, looked back, and froze completely.
