Chapter 6
Zona Lawrence covered her swollen face, turning her head in disbelief to find that the person who had come was Wanda Lawrence.
Wanda Lawrence had already torn off the gentle facade she had in front of Amos Saar, her face now fierce like a demon from hell. Zona Lawrence's heart trembled, and she subconsciously took a step back.
But when she backed away, it made Wanda Lawrence act like a cat whose tail was stepped on. Wanda Lawrence narrowed her eyes coldly and approached Zona Lawrence step by step.
"Zona Lawrence, Zona Lawrence, my dear sister, I really underestimated you. How shameless you are, you just came out and want to seduce my boyfriend. No, he will soon be your brother-in-law."
Brother-in-law's two words struck Zona Lawrence like a shield and blade, and she stifled her trembling body, turning her head away from Wanda Lawrence's smug face.
But she couldn't help but refute, "I didn't seduce him."
Zona Lawrence had long known that Wanda Lawrence wouldn't let this go so easily, but she hadn't expected the other party to come so quickly. She felt a mix of grievances and absurdity about it.
In the beginning, Amos Sari was her boyfriend, her fiancé, the father of her child!
Who would have thought, five years later, everything had changed, she became Amos Sari's enemy, while she, this good sister, became Amos Sari's fiancée.
How ridiculous! How absurd!
But she had no way to defend herself, Amos Saray misunderstood that she had betrayed him when she had not, but she had no way to defend herself because she had no evidence to prove her innocence.
Wanda Lawrence thought Zona Lawrence had given in when she didn't speak, but she still felt uncomfortable. Even if Zona Lawrence became as pathetic as she was, she thought it was only right.
This bitch Zona Lawrence should be lying in bed, full of tubes, just like her filthy mother, to make her completely satisfied in her heart!
But she has changed her mind now, she won't let Zona Lawrence die so easily, because she will make her live a life of hell!
Thinking of this, Wanda Lawrence's lips curled into a cold arc, "Zona Lawrence, I'm warning you, you are not allowed to get close to Amos Sari anymore, otherwise, I will make your mother suffer the punishment that should have fallen on you."
"What do you mean?"
Zona Lawrence's eyes widened, as if she had been struck in her most sensitive spot. Originally, she thought that as long as she kept enduring in silence, Wanda Lawrence wouldn't do anything to her.
But she didn't expect that the other person would target her mother. Now her mother has become a vegetable and can only rely on machines to sustain life.
How could Wanda Lawrence bear to do this?
But as she looked at Wanda Lawrence's evil face, she knew the other person was telling the truth and would follow through.
Zona Lawrence's legs suddenly went weak, the last glimmer in her eyes faded, she lowered her dim head, gritted her teeth, and directly knelt on the ground, "Wanda Lawrence, sister... I beg you, don't do this, if you're unhappy with anything, just come to me."
"I beg you, don't do anything to my mom, she can't move anymore, she can't anger you, she's a patient, you can't do this."
Zona Lawrence reached out to grab Wanda Lawrence's arm while speaking, but was swiftly swatted away.
A hint of mockery flashed in Wanda Lawrence's eyes, though her delicate face showed an inappropriate glee that didn't match her status.
She took a silk handkerchief to wipe the skin Zona Lawrence had just touched, then disdainfully threw the cloth onto Zona Lawrence's head.
“Not that I can’t refrain from doing something to your mom, but as long as you stay far away from Amos Sari, I don’t bother with you either.”
“Alright, alright, I promise, I’ll stay far away from him, I won’t show up in front of him.” Zona Lawrence agreed eagerly, her voice choked with emotion several times.
If possible, she really wanted to stay away from Amos Sari, but coincidentally, every time she could meet Amos Sari, what kind of fate is this?
"I know you wouldn't dare to approach him." Wanda Lawrence sneered, then rolled her eyes, her expression instantly softened, becoming the gentle and vulnerable Wanda Lawrence again.
"Oh dear, my dear sister, why are you kneeling on the ground? It's so cold down there? Get up quickly."
Wanda Lawrence's tone was gentle as she quickly pulled Zona Lawrence up, looking like sisters who deeply cared for each other.
Zona Lawrence hadn't quite reacted yet when she suddenly heard voices and chatter nearby.
"What's going on here? It looks like two sisters, how did this happen?"
Zona Lawrence hadn't realized the situation yet when she heard Wanda Lawrence's scolding from above, "Zona Lawrence, you really are something, seducing your brother-in-law, but I won't hold it against you, we're blood sisters, after all."
"But you can't kneel down in front of everyone like this! I know you like him, but I love him too, I really don't want to have any ill will between a man and his own sister, but you're making it very difficult for me."
“I feel things can't be forced!” Wanda Lawrence looked like she was trying to give some advice, and Zona Lawrence gradually realized something.
But before she could even open her mouth to defend herself, the onlookers—patients, family members, or medical staff—began pointing fingers at her.
Oh my god, it turns out it's the sister-in-law seducing the brother-in-law. How can there still be people like this who have no shame.
Yes yes, she does look quite decent, but I never expected her to be such a wanton character. I wonder how she learned her manners.
I think she has no manners at all. Look at her sister, gentle and charming, and her brother-in-law is blind to even look her way.
“Didn’t you hear? It seems like this young sister has been seducing her brother-in-law, but he looks down on her. However, she just won’t give up and has even gone to her sister for help. She really lacks refinement, shameless.”
Every word felt like a needle piercing Zona Lawrence’s heart. She couldn’t believe it and glanced around in disbelief.
She opened her mouth to protest, but suddenly felt a sharp pain in her arm. She looked blankly for a moment, her eyebrows twitching as well.
It was actually Wanda Lawrence's red nail-stained hands that were painfully pinching her arm.
The other person had a smile on their face, but the force in their hands was considerable; she felt as if those cherry-red nails were like knives her flesh.
She wanted to speak, but she saw a warning in Wanda Lawrence's eyes, and the words died in her throat again.
She must endure, otherwise her mother would suffer even more severe retaliation. Zona Lawrence dare not take the risk and could only bow her head and silently bear it.
Taunts and ridicule from all directions, these words were like a series of mountains pressing down on her, crushing her without any means to fight back.
