Chapter 9
At this point, Mrs. Lawrence suddenly changed the subject, "But you're still partly of our family's blood."
"Here's what I'll do, after your mother passes away, I'll personally arrange a marriage for you, as a way to repay your mother and you."
"Don't worry, based on your current lifestyle, I'll definitely find you a wealthy husband, someone older who will be caring. I'll carefully consider it for you."
“I don’t want it.”
Zona Lawrence was finally disheartened at this point; the entire family before her were wolves, just as the saying goes, "once a stepmother comes, a stepfather follows."
She knew her grandmother had always looked down on her and her mother, but she never expected her to be so vicious. Not only did she curse her mother to death, but she actually wanted to use her as a marriage tool, marrying an old man.
Not right, at this thought, Zona Lawrence's lips curled slightly into a mocking arc, she probably wasn't meant to be a tool for marriage, she wasn't even worthy of being a tool for marriage.
According to the cruelty of the Lawrence old lady, she would probably only send herself to a man that even their family wouldn't look at, she fears she is both old, ugly, and cruel.
She stumbled to her feet, forcing herself to meet the gaze of the three Lawrence family members, "My mother doesn't need your interference, and neither do I, nor do I need your interference in my marriage."
Her tone paused, Zona Lawrence felt a sense of triumph, "You yourselves said that I am no longer a member of the Lawrence family."
"You little bitch, what are you talking about?"
Lawrence the old lady didn't expect the other person to dare challenge her authority, her expression changed, and subconsciously, she wanted to slap her again.
Since it had already come to this, Zona Lawrence couldn't let her succeed so easily. She took a step back and sneered coldly.
"I'm telling you, from now on, neither me nor my mother Vitta Langwen will have any connection with your Lawrence family. I will take care of my mother's medical expenses myself, and I don't need your interference."
She finished speaking and pointed at the few with her finger, her eyes filled with hatred, gritting her teeth and saying, "Get out of here! I don't want to see you!"
When Zona Lawrence left the hospital, she had several more wounds on her face. She had just mustered up the courage to resist Wanda Lawrence and her group, but she was alone and found it difficult to withstand the attacks of the three people in front of her.
Zona Lawrence raised her hand and touched the scars on her face, giving a bitter laugh. She had made enemies with them, but she didn't regret it.
If her mother had to live under their threat, she would rather take all their anger upon herself.
Her mother could no longer move and had to rely on medication to stay alive. She didn't want to make her mother suffer any more, and Zona Lawrence, thinking this, couldn't help but walk towards Amos Sari's house.
Now the only one who can protect her is Amos Sarai, of course, but to say protect is too naive.
She knows Amos Sarai won't let herself die easily now, she understands the hatred he holds for her, Amos Sarai hates her, but rather than being tormented by the Lawrence family, she would rather cling to life by Amos Sarai's side.
The misunderstanding from back then, she had no way to explain, but she understood that Amos Sari truly loved her back then. However, reaching this point was not what he had hoped for.
Moreover, she knew Amos Sari well. As long as she stayed by his side for a day, she would not allow anyone to interfere with her, not even Wanda Lawrence.
As long as she stayed by Amos Sari's side, her mother might be protected by her.
Zona Lawrence had such a hope in her heart that when she returned home, a chilling sound would come from the living room.
"Where have you been?"
Amos Sari's voice was like a sharp blade, and Zona Lawrence subconsciously trembled. She lowered her head and dared not look at him, whispering in her defense, "I just went to the hospital, I wanted to see my mother."
Amos Sari sneered, "What are you putting on for me now? Did I tell you to go out?"
As he spoke, he walked step by step toward Zona Lawrence, his aura as if an invisible hand, pressing Zona Lawrence to the spot, unable to move a muscle.
"I... I really went to the hospital to see my mother, I'm sorry, I won't do it again next time," Zona Lawrence whispered tremblingly, her head lowered even lower.
Amos Sari saw her timid demeanor and only felt heartbroken.
“Why? Where did that proud princess go? Why would she become like this?”
He couldn't help but reach out and pinch Zona Lawrence's chin, forcing her to look at him, but in the instant she looked up, he had already completely suppressed the tenderness in his eyes, his face covered in ice.
“Let me take a good look. Isn't this Zona Lawrence from years ago? What's wrong? Spending five years in prison, have you lost all your sharpness?”
“Now when you talk to people, you dare not look at their eyes, what are you so ashamed of?” saying, his grip became tighter.
Zona Lawrence sniffled, but it made Amos Sari even more annoyed, “What are you pretending for? Did I tell you to speak?”
Zona Lawrence’s eyes were filled with mist, but she still bit her lip and didn’t dare to speak again. She now felt both love and hate for Amos Sari, as well as being aggrieved.
Amos Sarai could once be true to himself as he did back then, but why does he hate himself so much now?
The woman before him was crying, which annoyed Amos Sarai greatly. He pushed her away directly and said in a cold voice.
"Don't act in front of me anymore. I won't believe you again. Since you're only coming back now, you must accept the punishment."
“Before accepting the punishment, pour me a glass of water.”
Zona Lawrence, with a shaky heart, didn't dare say much and hurriedly ran to the kitchen to pour water, but because she was too rushed, she almost fell, quickly steadied herself, and hurried to the kitchen.
Amos Sari stood behind her, seeing this, his heart grew even more annoyed, after playing with his hair, he went straight to the sofa and sat down, impatiently opening the financial channel and started watching.
Soon, footsteps approached, Zona Lawrence walked over to him, handing him the cup of water.
"Here's the water."
She stammered, Amos Sarai took the water displeasantly, just took a sip, he expressionlessly poured the water directly onto Zona Lawrence's face, Zona Lawrence looked at him surprised.
Amos Sarai threw the cup on the ground, "I told you to pour me water, you poured such hot water, do you want to scald me?"
"No, I..."
Zona Lawrence defended herself in her mind, "It's clearly a cup of warm water."
Amos Sari raised an eyebrow, "I think it's too hot, keep pouring for me."
Zona Lawrence blinked, suppressing the anger in her heart, and turned to pour another cup of water.
Amos Sari took it and drank a sip, then splashed it on Zona Lawrence's face, "It's too cold, pour me another one quickly."
