Chapter 2 Back View Photo

Seeing Cecilia's suspicious expression, Sebastian added, "It was Brenda. I gave her a ride home after leaving the office."

So it was Brenda.

She did like wearing strong perfume.

And every time she got in the car, she insisted on sitting in Sebastian's passenger seat.

That was one of the reasons Cecilia disliked her.

Brenda Hughes was Sebastian's sister.

Apparently, she had a bad heart as a child and had a heart transplant, so the Hughes Family pampered her growing up.

Back when the Hughes Family was poor, they still spoiled her rotten. Now that the Hughes Family was living well—even wealthy—thanks to the company Cecilia founded, they gave her whatever she wanted.

The new place she lived in now was bought for her in full by them.

Her monthly expenses were also covered by Sebastian.

Cecilia had even discovered that Sebastian bought Brenda clothes, shoes, bags, jewelry, and more.

She wasn't a petty person and didn't oppose Sebastian being good to them.

Brenda had health issues, so she understood Sebastian looking after her more.

But Brenda wasn't someone who knew gratitude at all.

Lazy and idle, she often bossed Cecilia around, taking advantage of Sebastian's affection for her.

At the mention of Brenda, Cecilia couldn't help complaining, "On the way? How was it on the way? She lives in Starry Sky District now, an hour's drive from us."

"Honey, she's a girl. Even if it's not on the way, as her brother, I have a duty to get her home safely, right?"

Cecilia grumbled, "What's right about it? A woman in her twenties, a grown adult, not working, not doing anything useful, just fooling around, and she still has the nerve to ask her brother to drive her everywhere?"

Only Sebastian would give in to her every request. Anyone else wouldn't go to such lengths.

"She's still young and doesn't know better. You should talk to her more!"

"You think she'd listen to me?"

Seeing Cecilia getting more worked up, Sebastian loosened his hold a bit and soothed her gently, "Alright, honey, don't be angry. I'll go take a shower. We haven't made love in so long, I've been dying for it!"

Cecilia didn't want to fight with Sebastian over Brenda either. Her eyes swept over his sexy Adam's apple, and she swallowed without any self-control.

She gave Sebastian a flirty smile, her voice turning sweet, "Hurry up!"

Besides being handsome, Sebastian had an amazing body, too.

Sebastian quickly washed up and came out with just a towel wrapped around his waist.

Cecilia looked over at the sound, and she had to admit that she was such a sucker for a pretty face.

"Honey, here I come!"

Sebastian was especially passionate today, pressing Cecilia beneath him and kissing her.

From her lips to her collarbone and all the way down, making Cecilia moan softly.

Sebastian's large hands roamed all over Cecilia's fair skin, lighting fires everywhere, his mouth alternating between kisses and sweet words, "Honey, I love you!"

Cecilia was served until her whole body went soft, responding incoherently, "Honey, I... love you too!"

The two fooled around thoroughly.

Cecilia was left glowing and satisfied, her head resting in the crook of Sebastian's arm, her fingers mischievously drawing circles on his firm chest.

She suddenly suggested, "Honey, let's get a new place!"

Sebastian caught her wandering hand and asked in confusion, "Honey, we're living just fine here. Why the sudden change?"

Cecilia pouted, her tone carrying some dissatisfaction, "Molly starts elementary school in a year. I'm planning to send her to Starlight Elementary. Honey, we can afford it now. Molly is our only precious baby—don't you want her to go to the best school?"

Starlight Elementary was the best elementary school in River City and even the whole country. Anyone with any means wanted to send their kids there.

Cecilia was no exception.

Seeing Sebastian stay silent, she got a bit angry, "We can buy a house for Brenda, but not for our own daughter?"

"Of course we can!"

"Then let's move to Starry Sky District! Starry Sky District is closer to Molly's school, more convenient for dropping her off and picking her up. It'll also be more convenient for you to drive Brenda around."

Their current place was a two-bedroom they'd bought before marriage. It was old, and there weren't any good schools nearby.

Before, Cecilia thought it didn't matter—as long as the family was happy together, it didn't matter where they lived. But now with Molly's schooling coming up, as a mother, she naturally had to think more about her child and plan a good future for her.

"Okay, let's move then! I'll ask around first, then take you to look. You can decide which one you like!"

Thinking about moving to a bigger place, Cecilia was too excited to sleep.

She turned to look at Sebastian, already sound asleep, and reflected on herself again.

Cecilia decided she wouldn't randomly suspect Sebastian anymore.

Just as she was about to turn off the light and sleep, her phone on the nightstand buzzed.

Her best friend Sophie Morgan had sent a photo.

The background of the photo happened to be the restaurant she'd seen in that food review livestream.

Afraid of waking Sebastian, Cecilia got up and went to the living room.

She dialed, and Sophie picked up instantly.

Before the other person could speak, Cecilia asked first, "Where did you get that photo?"

Sophie's surprised voice came through the phone, "I only sent one photo, and you already know what I mean, and you're calling me directly to ask. Cecilia, do you also think that back looks like Sebastian?"

Cecilia didn't answer right away, because she wasn't sure either.

She'd just made up her mind to trust that Sebastian would never cheat, and then Sophie immediately sent a similar photo, proving she hadn't been seeing things.

She might have been mistaken, but could Sophie be wrong too?

Sophie was a famous host at River City TV Station. She rarely mistook anyone she'd met before.

But could she really judge that Sebastian had lied and cheated based on just one photo of someone's back?

Cecilia found herself struggling again between believing and not believing.

Noticing Cecilia's silence, Sophie felt bad, "Cecilia, don't panic. I saw this photo on social media; it might not even be him. I sent it to you just to make you more alert, so you don't stay home too long and trust everything he says!"

Sophie's comfort didn't make Cecilia feel better—it only made her heart feel more blocked.

She and Sebastian were college classmates. She'd fallen for him at first sight at the welcome party.

Later, Sebastian pursued her openly, and despite her family's opposition and friends' warnings, she agreed to be with him in their junior year.

After graduation, she founded her current company, and Sebastian helped her grow it.

After working day and night, the company finally got on track two years later, and they got married.

After marriage, she gave birth to Molly and was forced to return to family life, leaving Sebastian to manage the company.

All these years, they'd been loving and sweet, never even fighting. She didn't believe Sebastian would betray her.

But was the man in the photo with his arm around another woman's waist really not Sebastian?
