Chapter 3 :DRAGON KING
DRAGON KING.
I have waited for years, years and years of extreme torture for her to finally show up. I had questions, punishments and things lined up for her.
Amber ruined me, she ruined my kingdom and stabbed me in the fucking chest with the same dagger I asked her never to touch.
I gave her everything as my wife and my queen but she—
Opening my eyes and seeing her again after such a long time filled me with so much anger that I wanted to snap her head in half but she doesn’t remember me which annoyed me the most.
The more she speaks, the more I am convinced that she must have lost her memory.
How long did I sleep anyway for her to forget me like this? Did she get married to someone else?
A lot of questions are in my head as Zeke leads me to the house.
I haven’t been here in ages but things sure look different, even Zeke looks different with the weird clothes and the four wheeled thing he drove over.
Back then, I had horses. Thousands of horses and I am hoping he did not exchange my horses for that thing. I will have his head before he even says anything.
“Welcome home, master” he says as we step into the house but my jaw drops again. My throne room has been reduced to this.
I abruptly turn to him, my jaw clenching in anger.
“What the hell, Zeke?”
“The world has changed in five hundred years, master.
“What?” My eyes open wide for a moment,” five hundred what?”
“You slept for five hundred years master,” he continues.
Zeke was my right hand man and my army commander in Asfort. The one that was in charge of keeping me in check unless I unleash the disaster and chaos that was written in my destiny. Five hundred years later, he is still around, still taking care of me.
“With each passing year, we made preparations for your return, master.” He continues, “I searched for Amber everywhere but I couldn't find her. I didn’t know she would bring herself to you this way.”
I look around again. My throne is gone and in its stead are chairs that look too fancy for me. The dark place I used to love now had more lights than I remember having in my entire palace.
“So everything here is five hundred years later?”
“Yes, master.”He replies. “The others will be here soon but how about you take a shower and have a change of clothes? I will tell you everything when you are done.”
“What’s a shower?” I cork an eyebrow at him.
“A bath, master.” He says, “you take a bath and come down.”
“Fine. Have the bath ladies come to my chambers.”
Zeke lets out a sigh as he scratches the back of his neck.
“They are no bath ladies, master.” He replies, “but I will show you how it’s done now.”
This is the most horrifying thing I have ever heard. What exactly is going on? How did the world change for the worse in five hundred years?
“And you abolished the bath ladies when you got married to Amber, master,” he continues, “she was the only one allowed to bathe you.”
“What?”
“Have a shower first. I will try to juggle your memory as much as I possibly can.”
I don’t say anything again as he leads the way. My head is banging too and I can feel that I have lost a good chunk of my memory. I only remember Amber and the fact that she was responsible for my five hundred years sleep and a little memory of who I used to be—nothing else.
We finally enter another room and this time, it finally feels like home. The room is exactly now it was five hundred years ago. The book shelves, my personal armory, the portraits on the wall. Nothing changed, especially the woman in the picture. She is exactly the same, just a few changes to what the word wants.
“She is the one,” I mutter to myself as i continue staring at her smiling sweetly at me. How can someone who claimed she loved me do this to me?
“The room is just as you left it, master” Zeke’s voice pulls me out of my train of thought.
“It was wise of you not to have touched it.” I tell him, “I would have had you whipped did sure.”
“The bathroom is that way, master.” He says again, “I will bring out some clothes for you.”
I don’t bother to respond to him as I walk into the bath chambers but for a few seconds, I am mortified. Nothing looks familiar, even the huge bath lake I used to have was gone. It’s all marbles and cliche things.
“So where is the water?” I call out to him and he comes rushing into the bathroom.
“We use a shower now, master” he responds and walk towards the wall. I watch him turn something and water immediately spills out. I take a step back. What the heck?
“And these are soaps, master” he continues.
“Did you agree to have everything we enjoyed In Asfort be replaced with these rubbish?”
I am disgusted, truly digested.
“This is America now, master and your mansion stands beautifully in the middle of New York City. Have your shower and I will—
“Get lost.”
“Yes, master.” He scurries out of the room while I stand looking at the water for a long time. I may not remember anything but this is ridiculous—the world is on its way to its doom.
After having my supposed shower, I walk out of the bathroom naked and I see him standing by the bed. Some clothes are sprawled on it and he hands me a white cloth.
“This is the towel master.
“I am too tired. Clean my body.”
“Yes.”
He immediately sets to work while I allow my eyes to travel round the room again. I can’t even remember half of what has happened in this room.
After he is done, he hands me a pair of pants which look weird from what I know but I wear it either way. Asking about everything that has changed is already giving me a bad headache.
“You didn’t bother to tell them that we had the best designers in Asfort?” I ask as I put on the “Tee shirt” he hands over to me.
“You will get used to it, master” he responds with a coy smile and I roll my eyes to the back of my head.
“Where is Amber? Did she run away?”
“Living room”
But as I take a step towards the door, memories begin to flash in my head and my headache intensifies. I only remember Zeke calling out of me and grabbing a hold of my hand, everything else went pitch black.
