Chapter 4 Chapter 4

Serenity returned to class in a daze. The moment she stepped in, Adele rushed over and asked, “Why are you so late today?”

Serenity told them everything. After hearing it, Beatrice slammed her hand on the desk. “What. A slave. Is he crazy?”

Serenity said gloomily, “I think he’s crazy, too, but I’m afraid he’ll expose the letter to the whole school. If that happens, I…” She trailed off, her face dark with worry.

Adele sighed helplessly. “I’ve heard that everyone in this school is afraid of him, even the three guys who always follow him.”

“Well, he relies on being the principal’s son, so he’s always so arrogant,” Beatrice added.

Serenity buried her face in her hands. “I don’t want to hear about this anymore.”

Adele pulled her hands down. “Are you trying to run away. Once you get tangled up with him, there’s no turning back. I’ve heard that if they get hold of any girl’s weakness, she’ll be completely harassed, with no way out.”

Serenity shuddered. “You make it sound terrifying. But why me?”

“Because you’re too naive. That’s why you get bullied. How about I get the letter back for you?”

Serenity instantly lit up with hope, grabbing her friend’s hand. “Adele, you really are a good friend. You’re the best.”

Adele patted her chest. “Don’t worry about anything. As long as I’m here, no one will dare bully you.”

Beatrice asked skeptically. “But how are you going to get the letter back?”

Adele flipped her hair, striking a dangerous pose. “Have you seen the movie Mean Girls. Anything she knows, I know too. I’ll do it like this.”

Then she cleared her throat, pointed at Serenity as if imagining she were Vince. “Vince, listen up. If you don’t want to die a painful death, then…”

Before she could finish, Serenity suddenly spun her around. Adele froze stiff when she saw Vince standing at the classroom door, who knows since when.

“Then what. Go on.” He stepped fully inside, jerking his chin.

Adele was dazzled by Vince’s overly mature looks. She completely forgot what she had just said and forced a flattering smile. “Ah, what I meant to say was that it’s a great honor for Serenity to become your servant. Please look after her more. Even though Serenity has many shortcomings, she’s very cute. Please treat her well.”

Adele’s sudden change in attitude within a single second nearly made the other two girls faint. To the astonishment of Beatrice and Serenity, Adele pushed her friend toward Vince.

Serenity tried to run out of the classroom, but after just two steps, Vince grabbed her ponytail and dragged her away, while Adele and Beatrice hid in a corner, whispering to each other in admiration.

“He’s really cool. No wonder he’s called the Charming Prince.”

Beatrice nodded in agreement, her eyes shining like stars. “Yeah, he really is handsome.”

Meanwhile, before Serenity could even resist, someone dragged her away roughly. She cried out pitifully in the hallway. “You traitors, I trusted you for nothing. How could you treat me like this?”

Serenity jerked her hand free. “Didn’t you tell me to go back to class? Why are you here looking for me?”

Vince crossed his arms. “I came because there’s something I need.”

“Why didn’t you say so earlier?”

“I hadn’t thought of it then. Now I have.”

“You…” Serenity was at a loss for words. She could never win an argument against Vince.

In the Applied Fine Arts class, the classroom was spacious and bright, sunlight streaming through the glass windows. The teacher was lecturing in an even tone. “All right, look at page forty, line nine. I’ll write it on the board, and we’ll discuss it later.”

When he glanced down, he saw Serenity diligently copying her notes, while Vince leaned back in his chair, feet propped up on the desk, a careless smirk on his lips.

The teacher frowned and tapped his ruler on the desk to get Serenity’s attention. “You’re not a student in this class, are you?”

Serenity nodded slightly, looking flustered. “No. I’m not in this class. Sir, please help me.”

“If you’re not in this class, what are you doing here? Stand up and leave immediately.”

Serenity brightened. “Yes, sir. I’ll leave right away.”

She had just begun to rise when Vince slammed his hand on the desk, and Kelvin pressed her back into her seat as if restraining a prisoner. Vince spoke calmly. “Sir, she came with me.”

The teacher’s frown deepened. “No exceptions. Anyone who isn’t a student in this class is not allowed to sit here.”

The atmosphere grew tense. Leo shot to his feet, his voice full of challenge. “Sir, you’ve got some nerve. Do you even know who he is?”

Vince leaned back lazily in his chair but took the initiative to speak, his tone mocking. “We should give the teacher a chance. Sir, I’m Vince. I brought her here to take notes for me.”

The teacher slammed a piece of chalk onto the desk. “Take notes for you? When you eat, does someone eat for you, too? Who do you think you are?”

Vince curled his lips and lifted his chin arrogantly. “You want to know who I am? I’m Vince, the only son of the principal of Galaxy School.”

The whole class buzzed, and the lecturer stood there stunned. “You’re the principal’s son?”

Vince did not reply, merely raising his chin higher.

At the peak of the tension, Serenity stood up again, hoping to escape this power struggle. “I’m sorry, sir. I’ll leave now.”

Immediately, the teacher’s expression changed faster than flipping a rice cracker. “No need. Sit down and take good notes.”

The classroom was filled with the stench of flattery. Serenity sighed and returned to her seat like a cat cornered with nowhere to run. Vince tilted his head and whispered, “Don’t ever think about running away from me. It’s useless. When I want to do something, no one can stop me, not even a teacher. Do you understand?”

Serenity gritted her teeth. “What do you want from me?”
