Chapter 7 DALIA
DALIA
I can't believe that the big bad Alpha kept me here for two days without food or water. I don't know how long I will survive. My powers are back, but there's nothing I can do. I'm chained up and so weak to do anything. I need food and water. Maybe only water will do. I just want to feel alive again.
If I don't do anything I will definitely die here. Alpha Ezekiel is heartless. I won't be surprised if he watches me die here. I could see the struggle in his eyes. His lycan doesn't want this, but he's so stubborn to yield to his lycan.
Does he hate me that much?
Will the mate bond be enough?
What if I die here?
No, I won't let that happen. I am Dalia, daughter of the moon goddess. My mother saw potential in me, that's why she sent me here. She knew I would survive. I'm capable of taking care of myself.
Just like I have been doing for the past two days. I yanked the chain. I tried using my power to cut through it, but nothing is happening. I wonder what this fucking chain is made up, that even fire can't break it.
“Stop trying so hard, you can't break that chain. Nothing in this world can break it.”
I flinch at the deep voice. I didn't realize that I still have a company here with me. I thought the young man that walked in here with Ezekiel left with him. I look up at a pair of brown eyes staring at me with glint. He wears a cocky smile. He looks handsome, dominating, and intimidating just like Ezekiel, the big bad Alpha. He oozes power. He's definitely a lycan and a strong one at that. I ignore him and continue trying to break the chain.
“So feisty,” he says and crouches in front of me. “Who are you?”
“Didn't your Alpha tell you who I am?” I ask sarcastically. He should know that I am not scared of him, even though he looks all intimidating.
“No,” he smirks. “But I do know you took him in a fight. Though I'm still wondering how a little thing like you fought him.”
“I'm not little and I'm not a thing!” I snap. He should be lucky that I'm chained up, or else I would have whipped his ass.
“I like you. I think we're gonna be friends,” he says with a cocky smirk.
“Well, I don't wanna be your friend.”
“I'm Nikolai, Ezekiel's Beta and best friend. What's your name, and why did Ezekiel lock you up?” He asks, ignoring my sarcastic comment.
I don't want to answer him, but I think he deserves to know who his future Luna is. “I'm Dalia, daughter of the moon goddess and your Luna. Your Alpha locked me up because he is stupid.”
He is speechless for a while as he stares at me amused. “Luna? He was cursed not to have a mate”
“Guess he didn't tell you that the curse was lifted. To think that you are his best friend…” I rolled my eyes.
He chuckles. “You are right, we tell each other everything. That's why I won't believe you are his mate.”
“If you don't believe me, then I don't think we have anything to talk about. I believe you should leave,” I say and close my eyes. But my heart is beating. How long will I stay here?
What if this chain doesn't break, will I die of hunger here? Ezekiel meant his words. He will only free me if I agree to leave his pack which is not an option. If I leave, then I won't be able to fulfil my destiny. I need him to accept me as his mate so we can figure out how to stop this war which is my destiny to stop
I heard him chuckle. “I believe you. I don't think there's any other mate that can handle Ezekiel if not someone like you. A feisty little thing.”
I glare at him. “I'm not little. Once I'm free from this chain, I will definitely show you what this little thing can do.”
“I can't wait to see,” he says with a flirty smirk. I scoff and roll my eyes.
“But why did he lock you up?”
“Because he doesn't want me. I'm the daughter of the woman he hates.”
“You mean the moon goddess?”
I nod. “He has always wanted me dead. And don't ask me why I'm here because I have no choice than to be here. A war is coming and it's my destiny to stop it, and he has to accept me as his mate to help me fulfil my destiny.”
“This is ridiculous. Why should it be him? Why didn't your mother mate you to another lycan? When she knows how much Ezekiel hates her.”
“That I don't know.”
“What is this war you talk about?” He asks curiously.
“The devils, they will come back again, and this time it will be brutal.”
He scoffs. “Ezekiel sent them back to hell one hundred years ago.”
“He did, but that was just temporary. They will be back again, and we need to be ready for them.”
He suddenly looks distracted, as if he's having an inward conversation. I guess someone just mind-link him. After a while, he turned to me.
“I have something to attend to. Don't worry, I will get you out of here little Luna,” he says with a taunting smile. I glare at him. I fucking hate it when he calls me little. “Though I'm not really assuring you. Ezekiel can be very stubborn, but if war is really coming, we need to do something about it.”
He winks at me before leaving. He's so annoying just like his Alpha. I can't believe he's the Beta of this big pack. Can he really get me out of here? I have no choice but to trust him. That's the only option that I have. I've tried my best to break this damn chain and nothing is happening. And if I stay here a few more days, I will definitely die of hunger.
I will have to teach that big bad Alpha a lesson once I leave here.
