Chapter 4 4

King Ramsey~~

The moment she passed out in my arms, I lifted her effortlessly and began leaving the woods.

What she didn't know was that I had installed a tracker in her handbag, cell phone, and whatever she was holding, so she wouldn't dare escape from me.

It took me seven years to find her, and I wasn't going to let her leave until the contract ended. But, I didn't expect her to be my mate.

I had gone into a rut while searching for her, my lycan seeking our mate. I knew for sure that the night I'd go into a rut, I'd find my mate…and even though I didn't want a mate until my deal with her was ended, I wasn't expecting her to be the mate in heat, waiting for me.

The death of my father wasn't a coincidence; I had known from the start. At first, I thought her parents had a hand in it, until they also passed on. These seven years, I'd been digging the enclosed hole to see the end of it…and now that I did, I would get out whatever was enclosed in there.

I left the wood back at my palace and washed her up. Surprisingly, I couldn't even sleep but kept watching her until dawn.

She was the first female to beg for me, and it was my first time to seek a female's consent before having them.

I was the Viper King of the Viper biker club, and I take what I want without seeking consent.

The death of my father taught me never to be loyal or respectful, and I had thrown that away for a long time. He died in my hands, right on his bed. I watched his body go cold and eyes shut tight…and that was the last day I sobbed.

His death hardened my heart. Even the woman I had seen as my mother didn't show up with her son during his funeral. I mourned him alone with his officials. It was after his funeral that Lysandra’s parents died, right when I was planning to stage an attack on them.

I lost my right as the next Lycan King, which took me five good years to restore.

Lost in thought, I didn't realise she was awake until she sneezed out again and again.

I quickly turned and went straight to the bed, “You caught a cold while escaping from me.”

Her pupils dilated. She looked like she wasn't recalling what had transpired between us last night.

She first pulled the duvet and her eyeballs almost popped out of their sockets. Her lips opened, but she couldn't even speak.

“What? You begged for it and I made sure you climaxed more than five times. You kept begging for more, until the heat subsided.” I helped her explain it. There was nothing big there except that she was a virgin, and if she wasn't in heat, it could have hurt since I didn't know until I penetrated her.

I sat on the bed, staring back at her, “I also washed you up. Should that be a problem when I'm your husband?”

“But…” her throat bobbled. “It's a contract marriage and not…”

“You didn't read the contract very well. Did you also forget that I could claim your body as many times as I wish?" I leaned towards his face and she slowly shook her head. “Good, now start getting ready to leave with me.”

She rolled her eyes, “Where to? How did you find me in the…

“You better not repeat it, or there's a penalty for it as it's written there.” I snapped at her and began leaving the room. I decided that we share the same room, because there was nothing to keep a secret from her when she's in this with me. “And do not tell anybody that we are mates. I'll initiate the rejection once the deal is over, and we part ways.”

I almost forgot that important part.

Maybe, I didn't even need a mate, because of what use would it be? I'd just hire some woman for surrogacy instead of having someone as my wife. That gender is so cruel just like my foster mother.

I went straight to my office and began getting things ready to leave for my company, then a knock came on the door.

“Boss,” Hunter bowed before me. “Your brother is here to see you.”

I scoffed. For the first time. “He's here to see her, not me.” I responded, trying to understand why he wasn't scared to come here when he left her at the altar.

I wondered how shocked she was to realise that Jonathan was my brother. I guessed that it could be the reason she escaped, because she didn't want to fall into the mess of brothers.

After Hunter, my PA and beta, left, Jonathan showed up before me and claimed a seat before I could even speak.

He knew so well not to show up before me, but I knew he did take the risk because of her—his arranged bride.

“You keep coming in between my wins.” he started, but I didn't even spare him a glance. “On the day I was to be officially pronounced as the king, you showed up and took the crown. On my wedding day, you claimed my bride.”

I still didn't speak.

“How do you think she would feel if she found out what you'd done to her in the past? You aren't even royal blood, and you just showed up in the life of my father. I am the biological son of my father and should own everything he left behind…but you, who was only picked up along the way and claimed my father's name is the bad boy of the family.”

I bit my lower lip, listening to the truth he was spilling.

“What do you intend to do with her? You've taken everything Father left behind away from us, and even my bride. What next? Are you going to snap her uncle and his family to death too?”

I gave him a long deadly look and the least he could do was to stand.

“Ramsey, I've been calm when you took everything. But you see her? I won't let you succeed in taking her. Since it reached that extent, eat your cake while it lasts, because I will return with full force.” he threatened and started leaving.

I watched his retreating figure as he opened the door, but I hated that he bumped into her, frozen at the doorstep.

For the first time, my heartbeat resounded in my ears loudly. I clenched my fingers into my palms, and anxiety overwhelmed me as I watched how they stared at each other.

Why can't she just pass him?

And she finally did, brushing shoulders past him towards me.

Surprisingly, I released a hanging breath. How stupid I was to be worried about such things when neither of them meant anything to me.

“Ramsey,” she took a seat, followed by the door slamming behind Jonathan. She glanced backwards and whispered to me, “Is he really your brother?”

I gave her a single nod and she scoffed. “I see. But you both have no resemblance. You don't even look like his mother.”

If I told her that I was an adopted son, would she also see me as a rebel and traitor who showed up in the royal family? I was busy picking up fruits that I sell to make money when the late King saw me and traced the orphanage where I stay. He adopted me and changed everything about me.

I had no parents. I didn't know what they looked like…but Jonathan and his mum despised me from the first day I was brought into the palace and I didn't care since the man who adopted me treated me as his first son, since I was older than Jonathan.

“You have no business with that. Just focus on our contract.” I swallowed deeply and resumed arranging the files on my table. Jonathan should be ashamed of himself for not being able to at least protect the woman he claimed belonged to him. “If you wish to return to him, that will be after the deal is over.”

Done, I stood up. “Ready to leave?”

She shook her head, “I have to freshen up.”

In minutes, I was set and was waiting for her in the car. Everything Jonathan had said reflected in my mind again and I sighed.

He was telling the truth. I had taken everything away from the main families and I do not regret it a bit. Father never trained me to be this dangerous, but I chose this path and established this biker club because of them, so they should get ready for the worst.

I was just starting, and I wouldn't stop until I fished out everything I wanted to know.

When Lysandra stepped in, we drove straight to the company.

I offered my hand and led her out of the car, because everyone must see us as the real couple until the deal was over.

She stiffened as her eyes drifted from one side to the other, then she turned to me, “Fairyland Ventures? This is your company?”

I nodded, because I didn't expect less from her.

But, she took back her hand from me, her face contorted and tears began blurring her vision.
