Introduction

Having a contract marriage with the ruthless and most deadly mafia ace, Nathaniel Alroy, was going to be Zariah Ezekiel’s biggest mistake.
She, who was known as the ‘human killing machine’, could have done anything for him, she was blind for him, she knew he was her only weakness.
In fact, according to Zariah- 'Fuck my leadership, responsibilities, expectations, all I want was him to be mine. All mine.'
And he took advantage of it, he used it.
He started their marriage by dominating her, restricting her life to his commands so she could become his ‘doll’.
Because according to Nathaniel- 'She will dance around fingers like a puppet and then... I will crush her like a delicate rose.'
Both of them have contrary perspectives about each other, their marriage was useless, a show for the underworld.
Both of them had their own hidden, dark, intentions in which the mention of sincerity was absent. Discard their feelings, their purpose was their priority which was- Another’s defeat.
Can Zariah revive the man she once lost?

Chapter 1

Fear.

When was the last time I, the heartless, the unbreakable, experienced it?

I no longer remembered. In fact, did it exist in me in the first place?

But, tonight, before his dominating presence, my body gave up on me as if control was no longer possible, as if submission was my only ability.

"Do you know what I hate the most?"

In the dimly lit room, his piercing emerald orbs forcefully linked to mine as the scowling from the man supposedly my ‘husband’ reverberated in the room.

“Do you know what disgusts me the most?”

Stumbling upon my wedding dress, I swallowed hard, my back firmly pressed against the cold wall, resting my palm on it for support.

The wedding dress failed to conceal the coldness I received through his glare, breaths were tightening around my throat.

My heart was pounding at an incomprehensible rate in anticipation when there were barely recognizable distances between us.

"Pathetic people like you." He hissed, his strong form, hovering over mine. Strands from his half bun fell on his handsome face.

Asserting his dominance, scrutinizing my quivering form and I hated it, that was not how I intended to display myself.

How can I, Zariah Ezekiel, be weak? By a mere man?

“No, th-that’s not it,”

“Hmm? What?”

He arched an eyebrow, giving me a chance to speak for myself but to no avail, my whispers were unheard by him.

“I.. am not pathetic,”

The tip of his fingers traced the side of my face and brought it down. My breath hitched, my body tensing up at the foreign touch which I only imagined about.

“If not then what is with this reaction, sweetheart? Why be so vulnerable and weak before me?” He smirked darkly.

“I..” I gulped, “I haven’t been touched before, that’s why,”

He took my honesty as mockery, “Are you fucking serious?” He laughed a little, eyes shifting from the bottom, stopping at my eyes sternly.

“Are you telling me this angelic body is untouched? Do you expect me to believe it?”

“I am not lying,”

“Well then, let’s find out. It's our wedding night after all."

My heartbeats boomed, in fact the loudest resonance in the room when he unbuttoned a few buttons of his shirt, temptations visible through his slightest action.

With one hand on the wall, his other hand began to probe my body ready to devour me, "In any case, I strongly believe you know what a couple does on their wedding night, right?"

I nodded innocently, “Mhm,”

I shut my eyes, fidgeting my fingers around my dress, knowing the magical effect he held on me, he shifted his hand to my waist and yanked me into him.

"Although it's unusual to see a puppet filled with such emotions." He jeered, traveling his eyes down, making my heart skip a beat.

"No, not a puppet but..." His gaze stopped again at my lips, announcing my position, "A doll."

"Your... doll?"

"That's right. My doll. But, you know what, Zari?" He said with one hand holding my waist firmly while cupping my cheek, shutting down all my senses by one tender touch.

His lips curved upward from one side in a pernicious way, he was so pleased when I swayed along, connecting our gazes as if it was the only thing I longed for.

“I want my doll to be fearless,”

“It exists only for you,” I unintentionally whispered back.

“My, my, why is that?”

Snickering, I knew not a single reaction of mine was a part of my personality, it was NOT me.

Yet I had no choice.

"I guess the delicate princess of her father couldn't bear a rough man."

The allure of his voice made me weak, leading me to press all my weight on him, clutching his lapel desperately to not mock my condition.

But to no avail.

He smirked wickedly, “Still here you are, enticed by the title of a Queen so much that you are ready to submit on your father’s word and be my doll, ”

“Stop, Nathaniel, that is not it,”

"No...?"

Sliding his fingers around my laces before untying them while pressing his muscular chest over my back to amplify the seduction.

Burying his face in the crook of my neck, inhaling my scent before locking his lips on my neck intensely, forming this mark to which I moaned his name.

“Nathaniel,,,”

Closing my eyes, pleasure flowed in me when his lips mystically moved on my skin as if it belonged to him while loosening my corset, and exposing my back to him.

He let out a suppressed chuckle, "Then what's with this reaction, Sweetheart? Look how easily you have given up,"

"P-Please."

I unwillingly moaned, trying to resist his charm but he laughed in return.

Keeping me in place against the cold wall, slipping his fingers inside to draw lines on my exposed skin, indulging in the shivers my body emitted.

“Please what, doll? We are getting started,”

His tempting tone wrapped me, biting my earlobe, growling as I could feel his arousal.

My heart skipped a beat, he considered my frantic senses a measly start or was it my inexperience?

"Nathaniel, Don't."

I shook my head, turning to him but he cupped my cheek.

"Shh, Shh, Don't be startled just yet, I will be gentle tonight."

He smiled, kissing my cheeks but I knew how rough his 'gentle' can be.

"How is this going to work if you agitate easily? Aren't you the unbreakable? The strongest?" He whispered.

Flickering all his desire he planned to burst, sliding the dress down slowly, very slowly, as if he was savoring the moment.

“I am but… I know you too, I know none of it means anything to you, you don’t even feel anything for me,”

Gulping, I bore my timid gaze into his inscrutable one, he smirked evilly with a clear-cut reply, pushing me down on the bed.

So? That doesn't refrain me from claiming what is mine,”

Looking down at me hungrily, he took off his shirt, throwing it away, revealing his ripped muscles that dried my throat.

Gripping the sheets distressfully, I tried to crawl back but he grabbed my ankle, shifting on top of me.

“What is your full name now, Zari?”

“Zariah… Alroy,”

“Exactly. The wife of Nathaniel Alroy,” He growled in my ears, pressing his body with mine.

“My woman, the one who belongs to me, who is meant to submit to me only, in that case, who is here to stop me?”

Heat emerging from his body surged in me, inducing a numbness I had never experienced before.

What was happening to me?

“But- but- that’s wrong,”

“It’s doesn’t matter, Dear, this is the life you have chosen,”

With a shallow breath, I synchronised my heartbeat with his, lust taking over as I struggled to resist it but couldn’t.

Those heartless eyes preyed upon me and I senselessly permitted him, arching my back when he left butterflies kissed all over my body, brushing his knee between my legs.

He prepared to devour me, to touch me, to make me his, in every way possible.

"And soon, I will teach you. How to be my perfect doll.”

Enunciating his intention, he captured my body with his indescribable seduction, marking my body, my heart, my soul, as his possession.

And I was utterly powerless before my lust, my zeal, unable to tell him the decision of entering his life wasn't forced, rather I chose it...

"Kara." Cole’s voice drops. "Are you—did I hurt you?"
"No." "I'm fine."
"Fuck," he breathes. "You're—"
"Don't." My voice cracks. "Please don't say it."
"Aroused." He says it anyway. "You're aroused."
"I'm not—"
"Your scent." His nostrils flare. "Kara, you smell like—"
"Stop." I cover my face with my hands. "Just—stop."
Then his hand on my wrist, pulling my hands away.
"There's nothing wrong with wanting us," he says softly. "It's natural. You're our mate. We're yours."
"I know." My voice is barely a whisper.

I spent ten years as a ghost in the Sterling mansion—a debt slave to the triplet Alphas who made my life hell. They called me "Carrot," shoved me into frozen rivers, and left me to die in the snow when I was eleven.

On my eighteenth birthday, everything changed. My first shift released a scent of white musk and first snow—and three former tormentors stood outside my door, claiming I was their fated mate. All three of them.

Overnight, the debt vanished. Asher's commands turned to vows, Blake's fists became trembling apologies, and Cole swore they'd been waiting for me all along. They declared me their Luna and promised to spend their lives atoning.

My wolf howls to accept them. But one question haunts me:

Would that eleven-year-old girl, freezing and certain she would die, forgive the choice I'm about to make?
