Chains And Whispers.
Chapter Six: Chains And Whispers.
Clink!Clink!
Aiden slowly opens his eyes, his head pounding. Iron cuffs on his wrist burning slightly suppressing his power.
“Where the f*ck am I?”Aiden tries to move as the clinking sounds of the cuff persist.
The stone and cold walls of the cell look ancient. A single window where the moonlight peeps through.
“What's going on? One minute you were living your normal life stressing about your finals, now you are thrown into a cell in the middle of nowhere by some creatures, Aiden”, he whispered to himself.
“I'm losing my mind, is this some kind of dream?”, he yanks his hair in hands.
He had flashbacks of being ripped out of Aldrich’s arm. He would appreciate being Aldrich rather than being alone in this cold room.
“Aldrich..where are you?”
__
“Let go of me, now”, Aiden was being grabbed by two guards.
“Where are you taking me to?”Aiden struggles from their grip.
He gets dragged to a high roofed room with a stone curved looking shrine at the very center.
“Lay him down, we would proceed with the blood check spell”
Aiden panics, “No, no.. I'm not what your you want”
The vampires gather around, casting spells. Every minute felt like hell. Aiden went through an almost unbearable pain till he passed out.
__
Aiden's eyes shoot open, still chained to the shrine. “He is the true moon’s child”
“I'm nothing, okay? Can you translate your cult nonsense to English at least”
“Who is Aldrich to you? Are you mated already?”
“Aldrich is nobody to me, I don't even know him. Mated, what's that?”
“Take him back to his jail”, says the vampire that seems to be the oldest.
__
At night, Aiden lays down staring at the window. “Don't let them break you, you have lived till now”, he hears a tiny woman's voice from the other cell.
Aiden moves closer, placing his ear against the wall.
“Is there someone there or the walls talk now?”
“Oh I could imagine you so grown now”, the soft voice comes again.
“Who are you?”Aiden asked.
“Someone who tried to protect you but is made to pay for it”
“I don't get it?”
“Keep it down there.”, a guard interrupts.
She goes silent.
Aiden tries to pull his powers but the cuffs burn his wrist more, weakening him. Aiden collapsed.
“Help me, Aldrich”, his inner wolf growls for Aldrich.
__
“We are running out of time, I can't imagine what they must have done to him now. I want him back”
“You have been like this for hours. Seems you are not chill about your mate”, Merrick smirks.
Aldrich, Fiona, Merrick, and Grants gather around a table. Maps are stretched, as they have spent hours making a perfect rescue plan.
“Since, we are going into their territory. We are already at a disadvantage, we need you to be able to easily locate his scent.” She points to Aldrich.
Aldrich closes his eyes, trying so much to focus on his mate bond.
In his vision, he sees Aiden sitting in a cold cell. Whispering his name, “Aldrich” again and again.
Aldrich gasps, bleeding from his nose.
__
Aiden felt weak and feverish, it feels like he has spent forever here. Suddenly, he feels like Aldrich's presence wasn't so far off.
He hears the woman's soft voice again. “The moon child is powerful than all of them”
Aiden felt like something spark within him, his power overcoming those of the cuffs snapping them open.
The cells violently shook like an explosion happened above.
The alarms went off, red light blaring.
__
“He's down here somewhere, I can feel his bond”. Aldrich,Fiona, Grants and Merrick made their way through the underground.
The council's soldier, warlock constantly attacked them all the way.
Fiona swords skills were still as immaculate as ever, cutting them like they were nothing.
Grants uses his earth magic to break down walls using rumbles to block barriers.
Merrick transforms to his beast form, ripping the guards into shreds with his sharp claws and teeth.
Aldrich makes his way deeper into the underground.
_
Aiden's crescent mark glows brightly as he tries to gather strength violently gripping to the irons of the cell.
“Ah”, the iron detaches from the cell wall crashing to the ground.
He checks the next cell, and sees a tiny woman. “Madam, let me get out of here”
“No, just Aiden. We would meet again so other times, a much better time”
She was at the far end corner, Aiden could see her face.
Aiden limps through the hallway. Two warlocks stood in front of him casting spells.
Aiden puts his hand out, a golden energy explodes knocking them to the walls.
“Oh, no…no. I didn't mean to. I'm sorry”
The building was beginning to crack more.
Aiden is exhausted, no sign of an exit or Aldrich. He collapsed to the ground.
A pair of boots appeared in front of him, blood splatter on them. Looks up and meets with the most gentle eyes.
Aldrich was in battle, his eyes glowing bright. He drops to his knees, touching Aiden gently like he was a porcelain doll.
“You are safe now. I got you”
Aiden falls into his embrace, crying.
“Get me out of here, Aldrich”
Aiden clings to him tightly.
“Nice reunion.”, he dark and eerily laughter echoes as the air darkens.
A tall figure appears. Tall, black robes, nails ancient and sharp as ever, a dark magic staff in hand. It was Malachai, the leader of the council Force unit.
“The Moon's child is mine,Aldrich. With his Powers, I would be able to control the Alpha Prime”
“Stay away from him”, Aldrich shields Aiden pushing him behind him.
Aldrich gets hit by dark magic sending him through the air.
Malachai lifts Aiden in the air with dark magic. Dark force wrapping around him.
“LET. HIM.GO”, Aldrich roared.
