Chapter Eight: What the Moon Hides.
Aldrich walks in to smoke in the kitchen. “This is a mess, or should I just order something instead. Ahhh, I don't even have a phone anymore”
Aiden was cursing under his breath. Aldrich laughs, “At this rate you might actually burn down my mansion. What are you doing?”
“I was just trying to make omelets and got them burnt instead. I'm so hungryyyy”, Aiden cried.
Aldrich nods, “please get out of there”
“I already had the staff make breakfast”
“Oh whatever. You lived for centuries and can't cook, I guess we are even”
Aiden follows him out of the kitchen to the dining room. He licked his lips, salivating at the food on the table.
Aldrich helps him pull out a chair, gesturing for him to take a seat. He sits across Aiden staring at him most of the time they eat together.
They had conversations, with Aiden making him laugh most of the time. Aldrich admires his features.
“You know what I'm scared of? Not passing my finals exams. I have been missing class for weeks now. I feel like I'm cooked. Tell me, what are you scared of?”
I'm not scared of anything else in this world but losing you like I lost my first mate, Liora. I watched her died in front of me. I don't want that again”
Aiden held Aldrich's hand around the table. “I feel safe around you and the others too. You treat me like a family would. I have never had that and I might feel something for you, Aldrich”
Aldrich smiles, leans in to peck Aiden on his forehead.
“Hmm..Can I have your phone? They is someone I need to call”
“Who?” Aldrich hands him his phone.
“Prince, my best friend and a nursing student too”
“I would get you a new phone before…it's afternoon”, he checks his wristwatch.
The phone rings….
“Hello”, he hears from the other side.
“It's me, Aiden”
“You this rascal, where have you been? I have been helping you with your assignment and everything. You owe me your life right now”
“I'm sorry for the burden, I will be back soon”
“I hope you are okay? I was so scared, I even went to the police”
Aiden laughs. “It's not funny, idiot”
“My bad, I'm sorry for making you worry like a mom”, Aiden struggles holding his laughter.
“Just get your ass over to campus. I miss my best friend”
“I promise to come see you, bye”
“Hurry up then. Bye”. He hangs up.
“You guys seem close”, Aldrich says with a hint of jealousy in his voice.
Aiden shot him a look.
“We should go out today, I got something to show you”
Aldrich transforms to his beast form, then Aiden sits on his back as they ride deep into a forest.
They came to a stop by a cave entrance with a stone. Aldrich places his paws on it, then it slowly opens.
He transformed back to his human form, held Aiden's hand as they walked into this cave.
He take Aiden to an underground room containing ancient moonstone tablet. The prophecy of the Moon’s child was written on them.
Aiden gently touches them.
The prophecy says about an Omega, half wolf half witch hybrid, destined to have the most powerful Alpha cub.
Aiden passed, eyes widened. “Wait, what? Who's having a cub or baby or whatever here?”
“You and I”, Aldrich replied.
Aiden starts to laugh loudly, holding his stomach.
“Is this a joke, or something? I know you are ancient but at some point you would have picked up a biology book, right? I'm a male, you know that's impossible”
“Aiden, you are an Omega. An Omega can have a baby regardless of gender”
“Huh?”Aiden was shocked, unable to believe his ears.
“What the f*ck is going on? I don't wanna have a kid wolfie growing in my stomach. That sounds pretty weird”
“If you had grown among your kind, you would have known this”
“Your mother might still be alive. She was captured by the council when she hid you away so you don't get killed. Putting you in a way you could live among humans was the best option”
“Oh my God ... .oh my God”, Aiden ran his hand through his head pacing the room.
“I would teach you all you need to know including controlling your powers as your destined mate”
“This mate thing is it like a marriage proposal or something?”
“It's deeper than marriage. It's a bond between the souls of two wolves by the moon goddess”
Aldrich pulls Aiden into a hug. Whispering into his ears, “I would be by your side all through it all”
He looks into Aiden's eyes then leans in to kiss him. The kiss starts slowly, then passionately turns needy.
Aldrich's hands roamed Aiden's chest under his shirt, while Aiden had his arms around his shoulders.
Aiden lets out a moan, as Aldrich sucked on his neck.
Then stops, “We need to stop or we continue you might get pregnant”
Aiden shoves him. “Stay away from me, from now on”
Aldrich smirks before turning away.
Grants, Fiona and Merrick help set up a safe training ground for Aiden.
“The training is going to be divided into three. Socrory, weapon training and how to control your beast form.”, Aldrich said to him.
“What do you get to teach me, huh? Big guy”, Aiden raises his eyebrows.
Aldrich leans in, “Would you consider breeding”
Aiden froze, then hit his arm. “What have been reading lately, pervert”
“Fiona was right, I should have kept myself updated with what's going on out there. Spent some time on social media”, Aldrich smirks.
“You are turning red. Hurry up and get to your training”
“Liar”, Aiden jogs away.
The training has begun, Aiden was so excited about his new powers, gold aura, could make wind howls and blast things away with energy.
“This is so cool”, Aiden howled.
It was all fun till he unintentionally threw Merrick across the room with a wave of energy making Fiona and Grants laugh so hard.
“I'm so sorry”, he ran over to Merrick.
“It's okay man”, Merrick grabs his hand getting pulled from the floor.
Aiden kept tossing and turning in bed, he checked for Aldrich but he wasn't by his side. Aldrich stood in the balcony again under the silver moonlight.
Aiden goes to him. “Thinking about something, huh?”
Aldrich hugs him from behind, holding his hands.
“I need you to trust me to protect you”
“I don't know if I can trust people….but when you look at me with your eyes, Aldrich. I can't help it”
Aldrich cups his face, pulling him closer into a passionate kiss. He lifts Aiden off the floor, bridal style to the bed.
As they disappear inside, a shadowy figure in the dark watches from the woods.
“You survived, witch offspring and you are with him. It's time to finish what had started two decades ago”
The figure smirks, tosses a coin into the air.
