Chapter 5 005
SOFIA
I finally found a job…
But that wasn't all. I found a wedding ring to it. “Who hires someone to be their bride?”
“Does he see me so cheap that he approaches me with such?”
But then life has only presented me with limited choices. I sighed repeatedly each time I remember how I later walked back to him to accept after thinking it through countless times.
“It’s a lot of money. If I refuse, I don't get the job and I don't get the money, that would a total loss for me on both sides and I doubt Kiki would be happy to hear that,” I thought.
Once again, she was also a party to me agreeing to this and if I turn deaf hears to her advice, she definitely would snap.
“I can't even afford to let that happen. She is the only family I’vegot,” my voice in my head uttered.
I watched him smile like he had won a lottery. “All you got to do is sign the contract,” those were his last words to me before I ended up in his home, an undeniably beautiful and luxurious penthouse.
Even my sadness couldn't last each time I feed my eyes with the beauty around me. “Yeah, I did it for the money. Lord knows I hate that dude and detest that night with him!”
“But now I have a fat bank account and Kiki is definitely smiling back at every money transactions between us!”
But it had been cold in here. Steven never looked at me and we only act like happily married couples outside.
He would even use a pillow to separate us whilst we sleep on the bed. “Well, not like I wanted any different, this is what I signed for now I have to live with it..”
“Ma'am, Mr. Gold might be coming in late tonight. He went for a grand occasion so he sent a message that you shouldn't stay up for him,” the bodyguard said whilst I sat on the couch staring at the TV.
I sighed….”Okay,” I responded in a cold tone.
This was the usual. Either he was coming in late or not coming at all. Most times, it was the latter so I had to live up to the routine.
Sometimes I wished life was fair to me and I had the best start up. Maybe I wouldn't have ended up like this…..
“I doubt he would come back this night again,” I voiced out as I stood up.
Not long after, the same bodyguard barged in, trying to catch his breath….I fidgeted at his sight.
“What happened?”
“Uhm….Mr. Gold had a minor accident on his way. Just two blocks away. He is bleeding and home was the….was the close-est I could come,” he stuttered.
His shaky voice got me really tensed and I rushed out to the car outside to see Steven…
STEVEN
I mumbled.
Last thing I remember was my car colliding with another. I could hear familiar sounds but just one voice stood.
The voice of Sofia as she ordered my men to get her whatever it is, I could hardly hear her.
Before I knew what was happening, I fell asleep but still could feel someone pressing down my body and cleaning my wounds.
Even though it hurt. I was comfortable as the pain relieved at her every touch.
“I didn't know you had magic hands,” I struggled to keep my eyes open as I spoke.
“I wouldn't call them that,” she answered. “You need to relax, you know you are still healing up,” she spoke in a sweet tone.
Her soft voice pierced my soul and it felt like I was just hearing them for the first time.
I never saw this part of her. I was drawn to her that minute. I stretched my hands further and held her face…”You look so adorable, Sofia,” I spoke softly.
“I don't think I gave you anything to make you hallucinate,” she teased but I was hell bent in getting her attention so I pulled her in closer.
She leaned over and I gave her a wet kiss. My hands went around her waist and I grabbed her butts and kissed her neck.
It was a passionate moment and she moaned my name under her breath as I kissed her all over.
The night wore on smoothly and every bit of it was worththinking about over and over.
Her lovely face, her warm smile, her soft tender skin and ample bosom, where trademarks of bliss.
“She must be God sent,” I thought out loud as I got ready for work the next morning.
Uncle Greg had not been a bother ever since I presented him the marriage certificate between Sofia and I.
The look on his face when I told him I had gotten married, one would think he was going to butcher me to death on that very spot.
The news was indeed a shock to him and I loved it that way. Now he has no means to take over my father's company from me.
“Please ma, leave the premises before we call the security on you,” I overheard one of the staff raise his voice from outside.
“What's going on out there? It better not be my Uncle...I'm not going to take it lightly with him this time around!” I lashed out loudly.
I stepped out of the office angrily to see what was going on and my eyes widened in surprise at who I saw standing with two other security men from my company.
“Katherine Jones?”
“What are you doing here?”
“Hey, let her be...she is an old colleague of mine…Come in please,” I ushered her into my office immediately.
“Katherine?” I repeated, still surprised to see her after a long time. We were colleagues at the Baines Business School, Florida.
She was the last person I expect to see after such a long time. She was never a traveller and with the way things played, I never thought she would want to see me.
“What brings you here?” I asked out of curiosity.
“You…”
“I’m pregnant for you, Steven”
Uhn????
