Despite her efforts to fight him at every turn, the chemistry between them sizzles and leaves her torn between her growing desire for him and her need to escape.
As Edward struggles with his own feelings, the two find themselves on a dark road trip, facing danger at every turn. But will their attraction be enough to save them, or will it instead lead to their doom?
Chapter 1
AMELIA
I don't care what you say, there's no chance I'll marry him! My voice trembled with rage as I faced my father for the first time in my life. I'd be lying if my knees hadn't trembled under my false bravado.
"Calm down," Kyle , my father, told me. Anger was nothing more than an annoying gnat he could swat away. You don't have a choice.
My brothers prowled around the edge of the room, all looking for ways to avoid my eyes. None of you are going to defend me? Harry? Marcos? Not even you, Chase?
Fear shook my chest as they continued to ignore my pleas for help. Shit, my father should have informed them long before he gave me the news.
He killed Mom. His men killed Kyle Jr. How do you expect me to become his wife? It's fucking sick.' Mac shuddered, but none of them came to my aid. "It's sick!"
'I won't lose any more sons to his bullets. You've always known you'd marry for the good of the family.' Dad ran a hand over his chin and looked as rotten as I did. He didn't want this either.
"I thought you meant a rich mobster my age. William's older than you. You'd lose me to save them?" It hurt. Pain gripped my stomach and made my intestines churn like a pit of snakes.
"I'm trying to save all of you, would you rather it was Mery?".
Tears welled up in my eyes as I stared at my father. What a fucking question, me or my little sister? I didn't want either of us to end up under that sick bastard. No.
I don't have a choice. We need his restraints. We've fought long enough and someone needs to bury the hatchet to stop the killing.' My father sighed as he leaned heavily on his ornate mahogany desk.
Why does it have to be me, I had never fit the mob princess mold. Sure I liked the trappings of our wealth, the indoor pool, the vacations, being able to have whatever I wanted, but the pressure of the lifestyle had never appealed to me. I didn't know if others felt the same way or just ignored it, but I hated it. If it hadn't been for my family, I would have started from scratch somewhere a million miles away from grim old Glasgow and our crime-ridden lifestyle. For me, we were living in a gilded cage on a steaming dung heap. What about love? Freedom? Happiness? I wasn't going to have any of that and would trade every penny, every designer dress and even our family mansion to be happy. No one cared.
" You're my oldest daughter and you're the one he loves." Dad's voice caught in his throat, the hatred of decades was still there despite the supposed agreement.
What if I say no?
You don't have a choice.
"You can't force me to sign a marriage certificate or say the vows."
"I'm sure that won't be a problem for William . He knows enough people in the system for them to approve whatever he wants . It's not all bad, Amelia . With the wedding will come a new era of peace between us and the Harrisons . And you will be the wife of the most powerful man in Scotland . Think of the opportunities that will open up for you. You will want for nothing."
"If I survive that long . You know what happened to his wife, not to mention the string of women he's abused over the years. You can't paint this as a fairy tale to soften your guilt. He'll hurt me, he'll rape me, he might kill me - and then what, will Mery be next?"
Dad flinched at my words as my brothers shifted uncomfortably. No one denied it, for we all knew it was the truth. He had beaten his wife so badly and had mentally wrecked her for years. She had run away and left his two children with him. They were older now, of an age similar to ours, but they had spent the last decade without her. She had loved them with all her soul, but even that wasn't enough to keep her from fleeing William's wrath .
And I would be next.
Dad plucked up his courage, stood up straight and glared at me. He usually got angry when he didn't have a good answer.
"The deal is done, Amelia . You'll marry him and that's that."
And just like that. He left the room wrapped in a storm of rage as I collapsed on one of the dark green couches. Tears flowed in torrents as hope spilled out all around me. My whole life was screwed up. Shattered before I'd even done anything. Twenty-eight years old and I'd never loved anyone, never had a job, never gone out on my own without someone following me to protect me. A little bird going from one cage to another much more terrible one.
Harry slid in beside me and pulled me into his arms as Chase and Marcos joined us. They held tissues in one fist and a glass of water in the other.
"Why didn't you help me," I accused, my vision blurring under the sea of tears.
"We tried, Amelia . We've been trying for days. It won't budge." Harry wiped away a tear and pulled away to look into my eyes.
Chase's whole body vibrated with rage, always the hotheaded brother. "I should find him and put a bullet in his head."
"You should," I said.
"No. You can't." Harry had become much more serious since our older brother had fallen in a shootout and had had to take over command of the Kensington Syndicate . The responsibility weighed heavily on him, having to take on a role that was never meant for him.
"It would only result in your death or an even bigger war between us. Things are too unstable. I don't like it, but we have to try to make peace before all the criminal organizations in Scotland implode. This is just the tip of the tower of cards. Underneath are a series of deals and agreements that limit the bloodshed. If we go in hard, it will all fall."
"Why me?"
"William always loved Mom, but she chose Dad. You're too much like Mom at your age, and he's a sick bastard. This way punishes dad in a way that will hurt him more" .
"I think it will hurt me more."
I lay back on the bed, the heavy curtains blocking the light that bothered me from outside. Groaning, I pulled the comforter over my head and went back into hiding. There was no room in my world for light at that moment. As the minutes passed, the air under the comforter became hot and suffocating, but I was still buried. Maybe I could suffocate. At least I wouldn't have to marry William .
The door opened and closed with a click, but I remained impassive, ignoring it completely. A weight beside me made the bed shift beneath me before light fingers found my hair and gently stroked it.
"You can't stay here forever," Mery said , muffled by the comforter.
"Yes I can."
"Your room stinks. It's disgusting."
"What's the point," I said when she pulled the blankets aside enough to let me see her face, her expression soft as she pushed my greasy hair away from my eyes.
"You can't let them win. Come on, I've never seen you like this. Everyone's worried about you. It's been days, Amelia."
"Good. They should be worried. There's no way I'm marrying him."
Mery lay down beside me and slipped her arm around my waist, hugging me close, assuming the role of big sister instead of the usual family girl.
"I wish I could help you," she whispered against the comforter.
"I know, what can I do?"
"Could you run away?"

After the Affair: Falling into a Billionaire's Arms
From first crush to wedding vows, George Capulet and I had been inseparable. But in our seventh year of marriage, he began an affair with his secretary.
On my birthday, he took her on vacation. On our anniversary, he brought her to our home and made love to her in our bed...
Heartbroken, I tricked him into signing divorce papers.
George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.
His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"
Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."
Oops, Wrong Girl to Bully
My back hit the desk. Pain exploded through my skull.
"Girls like you don't get to dream about guys like Kai." Bella's breath was hot on my face. "You don't get to write pathetic love letters."
She shoved me again. Harder.
"Maybe if you weren't such a desperate little—"
I fell. My head cracked against the corner.
Warmth trickled down my neck. Blood.
Their laughter turned to gasps.
The door slammed.
I tried to stand. Couldn't. The room was spinning, fading to black.
Someone... please...

Biting his lip, he stalks toward me, his hand going to the seam of his pants and the thickening bulge there.
"Are you sure you don't want me to touch you?" He whispers, untying the knot and slipping a hand inside. "Because I swear to God, that is all I have been wanting to do. Every single day from the moment you stepped in our bar and I smelled your perfect flavor from across the room."

Invisible To Her Bully
Claimed by the Alpha's Love
Four years ago, Fiona's meticulously planned conspiracy turned me from an ordinary omega into a prisoner carrying the weight of a murder charge.
Four years later, I return to a world that has changed beyond recognition.
My best friend Fiona, who is also my stepsister, has become the perfect daughter in my mother's eyes. And my ex-boyfriend, Ethan, is about to hold a high-profile mating ceremony with her.
The love, family bonds, and reputation that I once cherished have all been taken by Fiona.
Just when I had reached my breaking point, questioning the very purpose of my existence, the legendary Alpha Lucas of Moonhaven suddenly appeared in my life.
He is powerful and enigmatic, a figure that all werewolves hold in awe.
Yet, he shows an extraordinary persistence and tenderness towards me.
Is Lucas's appearance a gift from fate, or the start of another conspiracy?
Rise of the Banished She-Wolf
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.
I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.
The Forbidden Throb
Mine changed in the time it took to open a door.
Behind it: my fiancé Nicholas with another woman.
Three months until our wedding. Three seconds to watch it all burn.
I should have run. Should have screamed. Should have done anything except stand there like a fool.
Instead, I heard the devil himself whisper in my ear:
"If you're willing, I could marry you."
Daniel. The brother I was warned about. The one who made Nicholas look like a choir boy.
He leaned against the wall, watching my world implode.
My pulse thundered. "What?"
"You heard me." His eyes burned into mine. "Marry me, Emma."
But as I stared into those magnetic eyes, I realized something terrifying:
I wanted to say yes to him.
Game on.
The Biker Alpha Who Became My Second Chance Mate
"You're like a sister to me."
Those were the actual words that broke the camel's back.
Not after what just happened. Not after the hot, breathless, soul-shaking night we spent tangled in each other's arms.
I knew from the beginning that Tristan Hayes was a line I shouldn't cross.
He wasn't just anyone, he was my brother's best friend. The man I spent years secretly wanting.
But that night... we were broken. We had just buried our parents. And the grief was too heavy, too real...so I begged him to touch me.
To make me forget. To fill the silence that death left behind.
And he did. He held me like I was something fragile.
Kissed me like I was the only thing he needed to breathe.
Then left me bleeding with six words that burned deeper than rejection ever could.
So, I ran. Away from everything that cost me pain.
Now, five years later, I'm back.
Fresh from rejecting the mate who abused me. Still carrying the scars of a pup I never got to hold.
And the man waiting for me at the airport isn't my brother.
It's Tristan.
And he's not the guy I left behind.
He's a biker.
An Alpha.
And when he looked at me, I knew there was no where else to run to.
