Chapter 1
EMMA'S POV
I stood looking in the mirror. Where had the time gone. My hair was pure silver braided down my back. I was just putting in the diamond earrings Ben had given me a few years ago. I wore the matching diamond pendent around my neck. My dress was black silk fitting the curves of my body the bodice was modest with sparkling clear gems. It went just below my knees. I slipped into my heals as Ben walked into the walk-in closet.
"Hey pretty lady," he said with a smile.
I turned from the mirror to look at my mate. He had started wearing a goatee a few years ago it suited him. His hair was tied back into a tail.
"Come here let my fix your tie," I told him.
"Happy Birthday Emma," he said again for the tenth time. I finished his tie and kissed him.
"Thank you, love," I said.
"You ready, everyone is waiting at your dad's." He said.
"As ready as I will ever be," I said with a smile.
"You know you don't look a day over forty-five," he said. I laughed.
"You have been saying that for years I'm sure I have aged some." I told him.
"Nah, to me you are still that sweet seventeen-year-old I met on that day at dinner at your parents." He said.
"Come on, let's go before I decide we are going to stay here and I strip that tux off you with my claws." I said laughing.
When we got downstairs Emerson was dressed in a red three- quarter length dress the bodice was made of silk and modesty cut. The skirt faired from her waist made of silk layers. Her hair was done the same as mine, but she had her dad’s jet-black hair.
"Happy Birthday mom." She said as I descended the stairs.
"Thank you princess, you look beautiful," I told her.
"Thank you, mom" she said twirling around, so her dress flared out. I laughed. Ben helped us on with out coats and we took the truck down the mountain to my fathers. Well officially my brother Andrew's now. But old habits die hard. Ben helped us out of the truck my father stood there with a displeased look on his face. I went and hugged him.
"Oh, dad smile we could have driven our Harley's." I said teasing him.
"Emma...." mom cut him off.
"Dwayne leave it alone." She warned him.
"Let's get you all inside before you freeze," dad said. Like we would we were wolves and bears it would have to be a lot colder then it was. Mom and dad took Emerson into the ballroom with them after five minutes Ben and I entered, and everyone yelled.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY " I was sure I turned red.
All the children had come home for this day with their mates and children. Even Emily and Luke were here with their twins.
Ben and I walked around, and I thanked all the guest who came from all over to celebrate this day. Even Ted and Sands were here with their mates.
I was dancing with Ben when I felt a huge pain in my stomach making me double over.
"Emma, are you ok, let's sit down." Ben said everyone was coming over to see what was wrong.
"I'm fine I just had a pain it is gone. Hailey can I talk to you for a minute? Privately!" I asked. Everyone got the message.
"Emma, what just happened?" Hailey asked.
"It was weird, It was like I just gave the last push to deliver a pup. I'm perfectly fine now. Do you think. I don't even want to think about it but do you think the next silver wolf was just born?" I asked confused.
"I don't know, your life writes the history books on the silver wolf. But it does say once every hundred years and today your 100 years old." Hailey said.
"But why would I feel that, even dawn is confused." I said. If we go according to history not accounting for your life. Then yes it could be, but why you would feel that is unknown. I think you should just say you had a stomach cramp. You're feeling ok?" She asked.
"Yes, perfect like it never happened." I told her. I drank some water someone had brought to me. Hailey stood up.
"She is fine it was just a cramp, let celebrate," Hailey said. Ben came over concern written all over his face.
"It was just a cramp, Ben I'm fine. I hope you all remembered a birthday cake for me." I said trying to get his mind off of what happened. As the night went on everyone started to relax see I had no more pains. But little did we know for sure seven hundred miles away. In a small pack Trisha Robinson had just given birth to a tiny, beautiful baby girl her hair was black as night her skin as tan as the sand on the beach. Leonard and Trisha were thrilled. They had been trying for years to have pups, but Trisha had never got past the first six weeks of pregnancy before she lost them. So, this little girl was a special gift from the goddess. Little did they know how special she really was. They named her Grace after Leonard's mother.
TRISHA'S POV
"Len she is so perfect," I said holding our little girl. Len leaned down and kissed his little princess. He got a shock on his lips.
"They must not use fabric softener in these scrubs I just gave our princess a shock" he said. Trisha looked confused.
"Maybe it is a scent thing, some fabric softeners are very strong." She said. The nurse came in and took the baby to weight her and all the stuff they do with new pups when they are first born. Another nurse came in and checked me.
"Your healing quit well Trisha, if everything is good with the pup you can go home in a couple of hours just take it easy for a few days try and sleep when the pup does. Congratulations to you both. I will come visit tomorrow and check on you." Bess said then left.
"When I get you both home I have to go on patrol. Is your sister coming to the house?" Len asked.
"Yes, she is already there getting things ready, remember to stop by Alpha's office and registrar her in the pack." I reminded him.
"Don't worry, I will not forget. I'm sure Luna will be down to see her in the next few days." He said. I smiled. I was so happy the goddess had finally blessed me with my own pup after so long. Three hours later we walked into our small but comfortable house. Len ran to our room to get change into his uniform, I don't know why he insisted on going to work Alpha had told him to take the night off. But he was a true warrior and protector of the pack. Brenda and I settled Grace in her crib.

Before I could answer, he moved closer, suddenly looming over me, his face inches from mine. I felt my breath caught, my lips parting in surprise.
"Then this is the price for speaking ill of me to others," he murmured, nipping my lower lip before claiming my mouth in a real kiss. It began as punishment but quickly transformed into something else entirely as I responded, my initial rigidity melting into compliance, then active participation.
My breathing accelerated, small sounds escaping my throat as he explored my body. His touches were both punishment and pleasure, drawing shudders from me that I thought he felt reverberating through his own body.
My nightgown had ridden up, his hands discovering more of mine with each caress. We were both lost in sensation, rational thought receding with each passing second...

On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.
