Introduction
"DYLAN, OPEN THE DOOR!! LET ME GO!!"
I yelled furiously as I glared him with pure hatred and disgust.
"Never", he mumbled in an inaudible voice. My blood boiled seeing his audacity still I calm myself down and looked at him in anger.
"Why?", I gritted.
He finally looked at me. His eyes turned darker as he smirked menacingly.
"Because you're my wife, Evelyn Black"
Evelyn Black is an intelligent and innocent girl who tries to stand for herself as she gets betrayed by the love of her life Dylan Black when she comes to know about his dark, cruel intentions behind their marriage...
Chapter 1
Inside Black's Palace
Evelyn's P.O.V.
"NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS"
I screamed on top of my lungs with tears rolling down my face as I saw him staring me with cold eyes. There was no softness or sympathy in those beautiful blue orbs. His expressions were icy cold as he looked at me sternly.
"Listen there is no use of yelling and putting up a show now as we have already arranged-"
"Shut the Fuck Up!! Do hell with your arrangements. I had made it clear. I won't marry you. That's it." I shouted at him with blood-red eyes.
"Evie, Shut Up! You have to-" Mom chided me but I instantly cut her in midway.
"You all Shut the Fuck Up now. I had enough with your bullshit. How could you do this to your own daughter? Am I really your child?" I yelled while tears kept falling down like a river.
"What are you saying, Evie? You're not in your senses anymore." Mom tried to calm me down.
"See we need to hurry up. The guests are about to arrive. So just get her ready.", Mr. Black spoke in a bored tone.
"NO! I WON'T."
I screamed furiously and was about to run away from there when Dylan grabbed my wrists tightly and pulled me back.
"No sweetheart. You will." He glared me with his murky eyes. My jaw ticked at this man’s audacity. I glared him with disgust as the obscene scenes I had witnessed an hour ago flashed in front of me eyes.
~Flashback
An hour before
Today is my wedding with my love, my boyfriend Dylan Black. He is the CEO of Black Estates.
Dylan is four years older than me. We met 2 years ago on a business trip in London for discussing about a project which was designed for the collaboration of Black Estates and Clarke Enterprises. I was the leader of the project. Dylan immediately liked it and agreed to work with us.
After that we started meeting each other frequently. He used to hit on me which I didn't liked first but eventually fall for him later. Soon we started dating. Then one day he proposed me which I gladly accepted.
Dylan is very caring and protective towards me. Many girls envy me as he is too hot and charming but that handsome hunk had fallen head over heels for a simple girl like me.
I was completely dolled up now and Man, I looked amazing!
"Evie, hurry up. Let's go.", Mom called me as it was time for us to leave.
"Yeah coming." I checked myself up and exited the room.
While I was walking in the hallway suddenly, I heard some moans coming from a room which made me disgusted.
"God!! What the Hell? Can't they not do it here?"
While I was mentally cursing that freaking couple when all of a sudden, I heard a familiar name which made my heart stop.
"Mmmm...Uh.....D-Dylan!"
No way!
Tears started welling up in my eyes as I heard a feminine voice.
'What the hell is happening?'
My palms started sweating badly. I carried my footsteps to that mysterious room hesitantly. But the closer I got, the louder those sinful sounds become.
My heart was hammering in my chest wildly. I wasn't able to comprehend anything. I just kept praying that it's just a dream. They are someone else.
I grabbed the doorknob slowly with my trembling hands. I was breathing heavily. I slowly opened the door gaining my entire courage.
The world stopped around me!
It was Dylan and Sophia kissing each other wildly, basically sucking each other's faces.
I remained glued on my spot and kept staring at them in shock.
All of a sudden Sophia's eyes landed on my panic-stricken face. She widened her eyes and pushed Dylan away from her. He looked back confusingly but as soon our eyes met each other, he became shocked.
"Evelyn, I can ex-" Sophia stuttered but I didn't wait for her damn explanation and ran away from there quickly to my room.
I slammed the door shut and started bawling my eyes out.
"How could he? What did I do?"
I kept crying my heart out while sitting on the cold floor.
"Evie, open the door. We need to talk."
My ears perked hearing my Mom’s voice from the other side of the door. I immediately jumped to my feet and was about to run in her arms but she gripped my wrist and pulled me inside the room closing it. I became perplexed by her behaviour but still I tried to tell her the truth.
"Mom Dyla-"
"I know."
"What?" I was taken aback by her reply.
What does she mean by that she knows?
Mom heavily and grabbed my shoulders.
"I need to tell you everything. Please first calm down and listen."
I nodded as I was still in a haze.
"Evie, Dylan and your marriage is actually a business arrangement. His Dad and your Dad had arranged this marriage for partnership purpose. Blacks have invested approx. 50 million dollars in our company as it was going downhill. They had agreed on this condition only if you and Dylan will get married."
I was looking at her in complete shock while she kept explaining to me.
"But Mom, Dylan has a girlfriend. He cheated on me-"
"I never loved you"
Suddenly Dylan barged inside the room making me flinched. I looked at him with teary-eyes completely shaken up with his words.
"What?"
"You heard me."
‘How could he?’
"But why?" My voice sounded so foreign to my ears as I was completely shattered from inside.
Dylan then heaved a deep sigh before answering me.
"See Eve, this was all a deal. I had no interest in you. In fact, I didn't even like you at the first place. My parents had forced me into this. I was acting all lovey-dovey with you just to win your heart and for that shit marriage thing. But I assure you once we get married, I would never force myself on you. You can do whatever damn thing you want to do in your life. I have a girlfriend Sophia and I love her very much. We'll act as husband and wife only in front of others else-"
Before he could complete his sentence, I gave a hard slap on his face. His face got flung to the right making him glare at me angrily.
"Shut Up. You think everything is so simple. Everything is so damn easy. You all believe that you would just confess your shits right on my wedding day and I would happily agree with it. What am I to you all? A toy, a damn puppet. NEVER... NEVER EVER I am gonna marry a cheater like you."
"EVELYN!"
"ENOUGH! YOU PLAYED WITH MY HEART...WITH MY FEELINGS. YOU ALL MADE ME A FOOL. HOW COULD YOU? AND HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO YOUR OWN DAUGHTER?"
"IT'S FOR THE COMPANY."
"I DON'T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT YOUR COMPANY. YOU ARE BASICALLY SELLING YOUR DAUGHTER MOM. I NEVER KNEW THAT YOU THINK OF ME AS A PROS-"
Before I could complete my sentence, I felt a stinging pain on my cheek. I held my cheek and looked at her with teary-eyes.
"SHUT UP! YOU GOOD FOR NOTHING PIECE OF SHIT!"
My eyes widened in shock while she kept spewing venom at me, stabbing my heart.
"What would you had done even? You would have saved our company from this loss. We had already made a huge mistake by appointing such a pathetic girl like you as the manager of our company. Because of you only our company couldn't make any progress for two years and we were still bogging under that huge debt. And now when someone is lending a stick for us to hold you think I'll let you snatch it away. No way in hell I will allow you to do that. You will marry him, Evelyn Clarke. End of Discussion."
~End of Flashback
I kept struggling in his hold which made Dylan only tighten his grip on my wrist.
Mrs. Black then approached me and said in a threatening tone.
"Enough of your tantrums. Steady yourself and be prepared for the ceremony or I'll send your entire family in jail."
I became numb by her threat.
"YOU CAN'T DO THIS!"
They all started laughing except my parents who kept shooting daggers at me.
"Oh Honey! You have no idea about us and our power. We'll make your life a living hell if you don't follow our commands. Marry or see yourself rot in hell." That evil woman spoke menacingly.
I was now left out of words. Really, I couldn't do anything. I looked down in defeat. Dylan then pulled me towards him. He wiped my tears and led me to the makeup room.
I was walking half-heartedly. I was completely broken. My parents think of me as a burden and piece of shit. I am good for nothing. I had put my best efforts to overcome from this loss. I worked day and night for that project which we had discussed with Dylan's company. I was oblivious with the fact that it was already a plan. They just shut me up by saying that all my hard work were just lame efforts.
‘Really Mom and Dad?’
I was lost in my thoughts while tears kept falling from my eyes.
"Doll her up again and make sure my bride looks perfect."
He said while smirking at me. I didn't look up at him.
What was now left to see or listen?
Nothing
What was the point of fighting now?
Nothing
Dylan left the room. The stylists then made me sit and started doing my makeup again while I kept staring in space sadly.
End of Evelyn's P.O.V.
At the wedding
Dylan and his parents were busy greeting the guest. Evelyn's parents were also addressing all their friends and relatives.
"Mrs. Clarke, call Evelyn." Mrs. Black said to Mrs. Clarke. She smiled at him and left.
Mrs. Clarke entered Evie's room only to be met with a deadly silence. She was about to check inside the washroom when suddenly I saw the window was open.....
Her breath hitched.
"Oh My God! Did Evie run away?"

The Human Among Wolves
My stomach twisted, but he wasn’t finished.
"You're just a pathetic little human," Zayn said, his words deliberate, each one hitting like a slap. "Spreading your legs for the first guy who bothers to notice you."
Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached — not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
I was so, so stupid.

Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."
