My Tenant Dragged Me Back to Hell
Mark · Ongoing · 37.1k Words
Introduction
After retiring, his only wish was to be a landlord: quietly collect rent, slowly pay off his mortgage, and keep up with the property tax.
Until that arrogant genius chemist rented his room.
A drug that could make addicts quit for good put her on every cartel’s kill list—and dragged Klein back into a world of blood and gunfire.
By day, he runs errands and does odd jobs for her, playing the part of a tool-like assistant.
By night, he pulls on his gloves, picks up his weapons, and single‑handedly beats the killers and gangsters who come knocking until they question their life choices.
When the neighbors start acting suspicious, brutal drug traffickers close in, and the powerful West family steps in to clean house, Klein finally admits:
Protecting his tenant is harder than fighting a war.
Staring at the pitiful rent that hits his account every month, he begins to seriously ponder a question:
“I only rented the place out to pay the property tax… so in this deal… am I actually losing out or what?”
Chapter 1
Cemetery.
Klein Gray placed cigarettes one by one on the tombstones.
The names carved on the tombstones read 'Best Comrade Miles', 'Best Comrade Carl', 'Best Comrade Selene'...
The weather was bleak, with a strong wind blowing. Klein pressed the cigarettes down with stones. As the wind blew across the cigarette tips, they burned fiercely for a moment, just like someone was actually smoking them.
Klein stood motionless before the tombstones, like a new tombstone himself.
The tap of a cane approached from a distance. An old man in a black suit and a medium-height silk top hat walked toward Klein, one hand on his cane, the other holding a bouquet of flowers.
"They were the best soldiers I've ever seen."
Ralph Harrison placed the flowers in his hand in front of Miles' tombstone.
He straightened up, staring at the name on the tombstone, and asked, "What are your plans? You're the only one left from the whole squad. But you're a legend in the mercenary world, plenty of people would be willing to follow you..."
"I'm planning to retire." Klein suddenly smiled, without a trace of sadness on his face.
Ralph's expression turned stunned. "You're giving up after just one failure?"
"I'm just tired of all this fighting and killing, plus I don't like being stabbed in the back." Klein turned his head, looking directly at Ralph. His face still wore a smile, but his eyes were ice-cold, without any warmth.
Ralph's face turned pale, his facial muscles twitching as he forced out a smile. "I don't understand. Are you saying there was a mole in this mission?"
"Ralph, stop pretending. Don't forget I have friends in the hacker world, too." Klein's smile completely disappeared as his eyes swept across the bushes around the cemetery.
"These goons are your people, right? If I don't agree to your new plan, they'll take me out?" Klein's tone was ice-cold, like a winter wind.
Ralph felt as if death itself had set its sights on him. He turned to run, but Klein's hand just moved slightly in the air, and Ralph's body froze in place.
Lightning flashed across the sky, and heavy rain began to fall. Rainwater mixed with blood flowed down the cemetery steps, level by level.
Ralph clutched his throat, his lips trembling, but in the end, he could only fall heavily to the ground with regret and fear.
"Damn it, he killed Ralph, open fire!"
An angry roar came from the bushes, followed by a hail of bullets shooting toward Klein.
Klein had already rolled behind a tombstone before the shout even finished. His figure moved between the stone markers, dodging bullets with agility, like a ghost.
Three minutes later, all gunfire in the cemetery ceased. Klein wiped his dagger on one of the corpses, cleaning off the blood, then calmly left the cemetery.
From that day on, the legendary mercenary known as 'Black Reaper' disappeared. No one knew where he went.
Pales Villa District. An unremarkable Volkswagen pulled up outside a villa. In the back seat sat a stunningly attractive woman and a middle-aged man.
The man wore a mask and was bundled up tightly, his eyes warily watching the world outside the window.
The woman hugged her shoulders with a look of indignation. "I can't believe that even with all the money you donate to the police every year, they still can't keep me safe!"
"Of course they're willing to protect you, my dear daughter." Jared Watson shrugged. "But my years in business tell me you should never put all your eggs in one basket."
"So you're planning to put me in this crappy basket instead?" Carol Watson pointed at the three-story villa outside, her expression very unwilling.
Jared spread his hands. "This is already the best place I could find for you. If you call the police from here, they can arrive in less than ten minutes. Trust me, no one knows you're living here. Including those drug dealers."
Jared let out a long sigh. His daughter was a top chemistry and pharmaceutical talent, but recently, the drug she had developed to help people overcome addiction had made her the number one assassination target in the underground world.
Carol stared at the three-story villa outside, her eyes full of disdain, but thinking about her current situation, she could only nod reluctantly. "Fine, I get it. What kind of person is my landlord?"
"A man."
"A man?"
Carol's voice suddenly became sharp, her eyes full of disbelief.
Jared jumped, quickly glancing outside the window, anxiously telling Carol to keep her voice down. "Keep it down. I've checked him out. This man doesn't smoke, doesn't drink, doesn't mess around, and definitely doesn't do drugs. He's safe, and lately he seems really eager to find a roommate. As long as you pay enough, he'll meet all your needs!"
Carol's brows remained furrowed. After a long pause, she asked, "So is he gay?"
Jared shook his head. "I don't know about that, but don't worry, if he really has any bad intentions toward you, just yell, and the bodyguards will pin him down."
"Fine, I get it." Carol finally gave in to her father. After getting out of the car, she dragged her suitcase toward the three-story villa she looked down on.
Inside the villa, Klein came out of the bathroom, naked, drying his hair with one hand and holding a phone with the other, looking very irritated.
"You damn bloodsuckers! I bought this house with money I earned by risking my life, and I still have to pay you property tax! Why don't you just go rob a bank?"
"Robbing banks is illegal, but this is legal."
The bank employee on the other end remained polite.
"You're so damn right about that. You bloodsuckers should all be on the gallows, damn it..." Klein cursed some more, then angrily hung up the phone.
"I danced with death on the battlefield, while these dirty capitalists just sit in their offices watching their pretty secretaries dance and making more money than I could earn in a lifetime. I should have become a fund manager instead of a mercenary."
Klein grumbled as he walked to the living room and picked up a newspaper from the table. He needed to look through the job listings. His rental post had been on the website for almost half a year without a single inquiry. If he didn't find work soon, the damn bank would take away his poor house, and he'd become a homeless bum.
Klein swore that if it came to that, he would shove a Gatling gun up those capitalists' asses and pull the trigger.
"Steakhouse employee? No way."
"Auto repair shop worker? I hate the smell of motor oil."
"Pizza delivery guy? Too much work, too little pay."
"Damn it, isn't there any decent job?"
Just as Klein was complaining, the front door swung open. Carol saw the completely naked Klein and let out a scream.

Why does being near him make my skin feel too tight, like I’m wearing a sweater two sizes too small?

I hate girls like her.
Entitled.
Delicate.
And still—
Still.
The image of her standing in the doorway, clutching her cardigan tighter around her narrow shoulders, trying to smile through the awkwardness, won’t leave me.
Neither does the memory of Tyler. Leaving her here without a second thought.
I shouldn’t care.
I don’t care.
It’s not my problem if Tyler’s an idiot.
It’s not my business if some spoiled little princess has to walk home in the dark.
I’m not here to rescue anyone.
Especially not her.
Especially not someone like her.
She’s not my problem.
And I’ll make damn sure she never becomes one.
But when my eyes fell on her lips, I wanted her to be mine.
Alpha Nicholas's Little Mate
What? No—wait… oh Moon Goddess, no.
Please tell me you're joking, Lex.
But she's not. I can feel her excitement bubbling under my skin, while all I feel is dread.
We turn the corner, and the scent hits me like a punch to the chest—cinnamon and something impossibly warm. My eyes scan the room until they land on him. Tall. Commanding. Beautiful.
And then, just as quickly… he sees me.
His expression twists.
"Fuck no."
He turns—and runs.
My mate sees me and runs.

How Not To Fall For A Dragon
Which is why it was more than a little confusing when a letter arrived with my name already printed on a schedule, a dorm waiting, and classes picked out as if someone knew me better than I knew myself. Everyone knows the Academy, it’s where witches sharpen their spells, shifters master their forms, and every kind of magical creature learns to control their gifts.
Everyone except me.
I don’t even know what I am. No shifting, no magic tricks, nothing. Just a girl surrounded by people who can fly, conjure fire, or heal with a touch. So I sit through classes pretending I belong, and I listen hard for any clue that might tell me what’s hidden in my blood.
The only person more curious than me is Blake Nyvas, tall, golden-eyed, and very much a Dragon. People whisper that he’s dangerous, warn me to keep my distance. But Blake seems determined to solve the mystery of me, and somehow I trust him more than anyone else.
Maybe it’s reckless. Maybe it’s dangerous.
But when everyone else looks at me like I don’t belong, Blake looks at me like I’m a riddle worth solving.

Steamy, fierce, and full of heart, Goddess of the Underworld is a reverse harem, found-family paranormal romance where love writes the rules and keeps three realms from falling apart.
A pack of their own
The Pack: Rule Number 1 - No Mates
"Let me go," I whimper, my body trembling with need. "I don't want you touching me."
I fall forward onto the bed then turn around to stare at him. The dark tattoos of Domonic's chiseled shoulders, quiver and and expand with the heave of his chest. His deep dimpled smile is full of arrogance as he reaches behind himself to lock the door.
Biting his lip, he stalks toward me, his hand going to the seam of his pants and the thickening bulge there.
"Are you sure you don't want me to touch you?" He whispers, untying the knot and slipping a hand inside. "Because I swear to God, that is all I have been wanting to do. Every single day from the moment you stepped in our bar and I smelled your perfect flavor from across the room."
New to the world of shifters, Draven is human on the run. A beautiful girl who no one could protect. Domonic is the cold Alpha of the Red Wolf Pack. A brotherhood of twelve wolves that live by twelve rules. Rules which they vowed could NEVER be broken.
Especially - Rule Number One - No Mates
When Draven meets Domonic, he knows that she is his mate, but Draven has no idea what a mate is, only that she has fallen in love with a shifter. An Alpha that will break her heart to make her leave. Promising herself, she will never forgive him, she disappears.
But she doesn’t know about the child she’s carrying or that the moment she left, Domonic decided rules were made to be broken - and now will he ever find her again? Will she forgive him?
The Human Among Wolves
My stomach twisted, but he wasn’t finished.
"You're just a pathetic little human," Zayn said, his words deliberate, each one hitting like a slap. "Spreading your legs for the first guy who bothers to notice you."
Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached — not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
I was so, so stupid.

Rise of the Banished She-Wolf
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.
Invisible To Her Bully
Falling For The Biker: The Vice President's Girl
His eyes darken, flicking to my mouth.
"It's wrong. Your brother would slit my throat for just standing this close. But tell me, little bird" his breath ghosts my skin, "are you trembling because you hate me… or because you've wanted this just as much as I have?"
Wren thought she'd buried the chaos of New Orleans for good—the clubs, the blood-soaked loyalties, the men who lived and died by their kuttes. Seattle gave her everything she ever wanted: freedom, love, a future.
But one betrayal shatters it all.
Dragged home by tragedy, Wren finds herself under the watchful eye of Ezra Jax—the Raven Reapers MC's vice president and her brother's best friend. He's infuriating, dangerous, and far too tempting for a man she should never touch.
And the deeper Wren is pulled back into his world, the more she realizes nothing about her past—or about Ezra—is what she believed.
In the chaos of gang wars, mounting debts, and old betrayals, he becomes the one constant. The more she fights him, the harder she falls. And the more he pushes her away, the more lethal his pull becomes.
Because in this world, love isn't sweet.
It's brutal. Bloody.
And it's bound to break them both.
When loyalty is everything and love can cost your life, will Wren risk her heart on the one man she was never meant to love?
