Can Evelyn change her destiny—or will love become her curse once again?

Chapter 1

Evelyn's POV

“Happy anniversary, Evie.“

Lucas’s deep voice stirred me from my sleep. I blinked against the morning light, sitting up as he walked in—holding a velvet cake and had that same boyish grin on his face.

His affectionate gaze fell on me. He looked at me the way he always did—like I was some rare, precious thing he’d found in a world of noise. Like I was the only thing that was true in the midst of lies.

Today is our third year anniversary. My husband, Alpha Lucas Whitmore, The Supreme Alpha of Werewolves is the best thing that has ever happened to me in my entire life. Caring. Loving.

Everyday of my life, I still wondered what exactly he saw in me. I was the adopted daughter of one of the influential family in the kingdom. I have no wolf. No life… but he found me in the midst of my nothingness and gave me everything. He made me his Luna even though the whole pack thinks I don't deserve it. He fought for me, made me gain their respect and now, I'm a powerful Queen. A perfect Luna.

Carefully, he dropped the cake on the bedstand, crouched lower to my level and pressed a kiss to my lips. It started slow… almost teasing. Then his kiss deepened—his tongue slipping past my lips, exploring me with a hunger that stole the air from my lungs.

My hands fisted in his shirt, pulling him closer to me. I felt heat growing beneath my thighs and my cunt tingling with sensation.

“Ohhhhhh,” I moaned into his mouth. I really need him to eat my pussy up.

I was thinking that he would take it further, but he pulled back gently. My face fell in disappointment and unsatisfied desire.

He sat in front of me and cupped my cheeks. “I will make it up to you tonight, Evie. But for now…. the Elders are waiting for me. And I have a board meeting at the company too.“

I nodded, managing a small smile.

He walked to the mini bar in the corner of the room, and retrieved a bottle of champagne and two flutes. He popped the champagne open and filled the flutes up to half.

He handed one over to me. “You're the best thing that has ever happened to me, my lady,” he said smoothly, his eyes never leaving me. “You make loving you so easy. You make ruling this kingdom so fun. Thank you for doing life with me, my Luna.“

My heart skipped as his words echoed through my mind. “You flatter me too much, Lucas. If there's a next life, I want you to be my husband over and over again. Thank you for accepting me the way I am.“

“Happy anniversary, my love,” he said, raising his glass.

“Happy anniversary, my Alpha,” I said, clinking my glass on his.

We smiled and took a sip.

The liquid slid down my throat and I felt it straight in my cunt. Fuck! I instinctively pressed my thighs together.

Lucas gave me a knowing smile. “Let me quickly use my fingers, otherwise I will feel bad leaving you undone.“

I nodded. “Thank you.“

We dropped our glasses on the stand. He pushed me slowly on the bed, and spread my thighs apart.

His fingers slipped between my folds, hot and slick, curling inside me until my hips jerked off the bed.

“You're already dripping, Evie,” He growled in pleasure. “I haven't even started yet.“

He thrusted in. Out. Harder. Deeper.

My thighs trembled. My back arched off the bed. My nipples tightened.

He slipped his free hand inside my nightgown and fondle my plump breasts. His fingers pressing and pinching on my nipples.

“Lucasssss,” I let out a throaty cry, my fingers digging into the bedsheets. “Faster. Harder.“

He did just that. Faster. Harder. Deeper. I felt his fingers deep inside my soul.

My breath came out in ragged gasps. I rolled my eyes at the back of my head as pleasure over took me. And soon, I came undone. I felt my juice leaking out and my nerves calm down.

He slipped out his fingers, which was glistening with my cum and he dipped it into his mouth. He squeezed his eyes closed, savouring the sweet taste of me.

“You taste like marshmallows, Evie,” he growled. “You're an addiction. I can't get over you.“

I winked at him.

“Naughty girl,” he said, pulling off his nightie.

I swallowed hard as my eyes landed on the thick bulge straining against his briefs, and the thick dent of cum that was on the fabric.

He wrapped the towel around his waist and started walking towards the ensuite bathroom. “Don't worry, Evie,” he called over his shoulders. “I will make sure to fuck you as much as you want tonight.“

“Yay,” I shrieked and got off the bed.

Time to get to my Luna duties.

My eyes landed on the fancy wall clock in the grand living room for more the upteenth time tonight. It's already 9 p.m., and Lucas isn't here yet.

The meal I had been preparing all day has already gone cold. And even the decorations I made were starting to annoy me.

I tried to mindlink him but he keeps cutting off the connection. I tried calling but… he hasn't been picking. I called his Beta too, no response.

Maybe he's busy, I told myself. But as much as I want to believe that I couldn't.

I stood up, paced the room, a strange feeling swirling inside me.

'Ding. Ding.'

A beep on my phone.

I snatched it from the dresser, clicked the screen open. It was a message from an unknown contact. A beat passed. Two. My eyes widen in shock. Then—

Thud.

The phone fell off my hands like it burned me.

My breathing turned ragged. My chest tightened with pains. My body trembled so much that my legs gave out and I stumbled backward Into the couch behind me.

Noo….. this can't be happening. No! Tears blurred my vision.

I crawled towards the slightly cracked phone and checked the picture again and there it was, still staring blankly at me.

Then I noticed an address was beneath the message.

It wasn't even far from here. I should confirm the truth, right? This could've been photoshopped or something.

The possibility of it being photoshopped, and that this was the handiwork of the enemies to pull us apart calmed me down a little.

I didn't think; I just acted.

I snatched my car keys, stumbled out of the mansion and soon sitting in the driver's seat of the car.

My brain was already frozen that I didn't catch everything the chauffeur said, but I heard talk about him driving me instead.

I didn't reply. I revived the engine and drove out of the driveway.

Curses and insults were thrown at me by the other drivers at the highway as I sped past them but I didn't mind. I just wanted to get there as soon as possible and the only thing running through my mind was a single prayer request; Moon Goddess, don't let this be true.

I drove into Imperial Wolves hotel gates, jumped out of the car and made my way towards the reception.

“Good evening, ma'am,” the receptionist, a petite lady with red hair said in a polite tone. “How may I help you.“

“I'm Luna Evelyn,” I said, forcing a smile. This is one of the rare times I have to use my Luna privilege, or else they won't grant me entry. “I came to see someone in Room 204.“

Her eyes narrowed, scanning my face for a beat. Then her eyes widened in recognition. “Luna,” she said, bowing slightly. “Take the elevator by your left to the fifth floor.“

“Thank you.“ I walked away.

I got into the elevator, pressed on five with my trembling fingers and it started moving up. I felt dizzy so I leaned on the cool steel for balance. Moments later, It's chimes open and I stepped out.

I moved through the hallway, my eyes scanning the plate number of each room.

“Room 204,” I whispered, standing in front of the room.

I breathe in and out, steadying myself. I gripped the doorknob and just then two familiar voices reached me outside.

I might be wolfless… but my senses are just as sharp as those with wolves.

“If it's not that I need Evelyn's stupid blood, I won't have to spend a day with her.“

Dear readers, this novel is coming to an end soon. I highly recommend another fantastic story of the same genre:

I’d appreciate all your support, thank you so much!
From first crush to wedding vows, George Capulet and I had been inseparable. But in our seventh year of marriage, he began an affair with his secretary.

On my birthday, he took her on vacation. On our anniversary, he brought her to our home and made love to her in our bed...

Heartbroken, I tricked him into signing divorce papers.

George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.

His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"

Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.

When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.

"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"

George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"

"I'm afraid that's impossible."

Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

"You want my forgiveness?" he asked, my voice dropping to a dangerous timbre.

Before I could answer, he moved closer, suddenly looming over me, his face inches from mine. I felt my breath caught, my lips parting in surprise.

"Then this is the price for speaking ill of me to others," he murmured, nipping my lower lip before claiming my mouth in a real kiss. It began as punishment but quickly transformed into something else entirely as I responded, my initial rigidity melting into compliance, then active participation.

My breathing accelerated, small sounds escaping my throat as he explored my body. His touches were both punishment and pleasure, drawing shudders from me that I thought he felt reverberating through his own body.

My nightgown had ridden up, his hands discovering more of mine with each caress. We were both lost in sensation, rational thought receding with each passing second...

"James..." I whispered, more plea than protest.
His hand caught mine, fingers threading together tightly. "I'll bring him back. I swear it. Just... don't turn away from me. Please."
The word please—low, ragged, almost broken—undid me more than anything else could have.
