Chapter 1
My parents get on my nerves sometimes! I'm going to email my photo to the best modeling agency in New York, the John Langdon modeling agency. I don't care whether they approve of this or not, I'm going to do it! I know I'm a beautiful and sexy woman. I have what it takes to become New York's next top model.
These photos will prove it, and I'm gonna show the world what I have. I'm going to ask my best friend, Leila, if she'll come over to take the pictures for me. The photos must be taken at best.
"Leila, what time do you work today?" I asked.
"Ugh. I start at 5. I don't even want to go to this stupid place. What's up?" Leila said.
"Can you come over and take some pics of me? I'm going to email the John Langdon modeling agency and hope that they pick me to be their next model!" I said.
"WHAT! Are you seriously going to do this? Leila asked.
"Yes. This is my dream and I'm going to pursue it, whether anyone likes it or not," I replied.
"Of course, I'll come over. I'm glad you're doing this. You are a beautiful woman," Leila said.
"Thank you so much, I appreciate this," I replied.
"I'll be over in about half an hour or so," Leila said.
"Perfect," I replied.
While waiting for Leila to come over, I'm going to pick out my sexiest outfits to wear for the photos. I'm sure they want a headshot, a full-body photo, and… I'm not sure what else. This is nerve-racking. Ugh–I'm going to check his website again, I'm pretty sure the submission guidelines are on it.
Damn, this website says to send in 6-20 photos. I didn't think it would be that many, but oh well, I'm going to just do it.
"Shit. reading through all the requirements looks harder than I thought."
They want to see five facial photos. They look for facial features with, lips, eyebrows, cheekbones, and a symmetrical face with even features. I'm not sure I even have all this.
"Should I think twice about doing this?" I thought to myself.
"Finally," Leila arrives. She knocked on the door and I yelled down for her to come in and up to my room.
I jotted down on paper what they are looking for. They want to see flawless skin, a luscious look, my expression, confidence, and a conclusion.
"This is definitely a lot," I sighed.
Leila enters my room and jumps on my bed, happily.
"Star, I'm so proud of you for doing this. You're going to kill it," Leila said.
"Ahhh…thank you. But you have no idea what they are looking for. It's like they want you to be a perfect woman. Face, body, hair, just everything. I don't know if I have all of this," I replied.
"You do. Don't think that way, it will only make it worse."
"What photos am I taking of you?"
"They want more of my face and a full-body," I replied.
"Let's do it," Leila said.
Leila helps me put on my makeup. We both put it on perfectly since they want everything so perfect looking. Then we did my hair in long wavy curls. Once we finished, I stood there and Leila stood next to me and shook her head back and forth. She just couldn't believe how beautiful I looked.
I posed many times for the camera. Leila took many headshots. Probably about 30 of them. When we finished with the face photos, we took a break to check them out. Out of the many pics that we took, I did not like any of them. So, we retook the pics of my face. We retook about ten more than I was completely done with the face shots. We looked at the photos and we got probably two good face shots.
"I chose the face shot that looked the best." It was a close-up and my eyebrows were defined, my eyes lit up, and my lips seemed to be perfect. We saved that one.
Now comes the full-body shots. I'm figuring these ones will take a while since they want everything so perfect. This could get frustrating. But I'm going to do it anyway.
"What should I put on?" I asked Leila.
"I'd put on something sexy, you want to show them what you have," Leila said.
"Haha. Well, maybe I'll do that," I replied.
I put on the sexiest shirt that I had. It is an open shoulder shirt and it comes down to the very top of my breasts with a pair of jeans. The jeans are a light-colored pair with rips on the legs. They are tight enough to make me look sexy with the shirt.
We took about fifteen full-body photos and I was done for the day. This was exhausting. Out of those fifteen photos, we got one good pic of me. I looked at Leila and said, "I'm done for today. These photos are good enough. I'm going to send the two in."
Leila laughed a bit because of how exhausted I was. She asked me, "What do you think it's going to be like if you get a modeling gig? It's going to be worse then."
I thought to myself, "she's right, but then it will be different."
Leila had to leave since she has to get to work. I changed into something more comfortable and looked at my photos. I really do look good in the two that I'm sending in. Now I just hope they pick me to be their model.
Well, here goes nothing! I'm so nervous that my hands are shaking, I can't believe I'm doing this.
I emailed the John Langdon modeling agency my pics. I hit the send button quickly because I'm nervous about this. Right after I sent the email, I received an automatic response and it said,
"We have received your email, we will get back to you as soon as we can."
At first, I thought that they had responded already, but they didn't. All I can do now is wait to hear from them.
