Introduction
What would you sacrifice for power?
Arabella Sterling doesn't have to choose between them.
Or so she thinks.
As the Prime Minister of the Federation, she has built an empire of authority and control. But beneath her impeccable exterior, she is starving for authentic connection. When she meets Kael Raven, the magnetic alpha of the Northern Pack, the walls she has built between her public and private life begin to crumble.
Their relationship is impossible. It's dangerous. It's intoxicating.
It's also discovered.
But what happens next isn't a story about scandal and resignation.
It's about a woman with the power to change the rules.
It's about two people brave enough to demand a different future.
It's about what happens when you refuse to accept that your personal happiness and professional excellence are fundamentally incompatible.
Chapter 1
In the Prime Minister's private preparation room——
Arabella Sterling stood before the mirror, inspecting herself with the focus of a general reviewing troops before battle.
Black suit. Hair styled to perfection, each strand in its designated position. Makeup subtle but flawless, the kind that required hours of work to appear effortless.
"You look tense," Eleanor Hayes said from behind her, holding out a glass of water.
She was the only person Bella allowed to see cracks in the facade.
Bella didn't turn around. "I'm not tense. I'm thinking about how not to hurt anyone."
"That's not a politician's job," Eleanor said softly.
"No," Bella turned, accepting the glass, "it is."
KNOCK!
A knock at the door.
Then the door opened without waiting for a response.
The press secretary stepped in, his energy urgent. "Prime Minister, we have approximately two hundred journalists in the main hall. Conservative coalition members are present. The media... enthusiasm is very high."
Enthusiasm.
That was his careful way of saying dangerous.
Bella nodded.
The arrival of Kael Raven, Alpha of the Northern Pack, should have been an opportunity.
But opportunities were often traps.
The conservatives were waiting for her to slip.
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
When she opened them, Bella was gone.
In her place stood the Prime Minister—cold, rational, immovable—a symbol of power.
Her fingers tapped lightly against the vanity, a tell she only revealed when thinking.
She checked her phone.
No new message.
"Time," Bella said, setting down the water glass.
She walked toward the door.
"Good luck," Eleanor mouthed.
Bella stepped into the hallway.
The noise from the conference hall grew louder with each step—the murmur of hundreds of voices, the crackling of camera equipment, the restless energy of a room full of predators waiting for blood.
She took a breath, then pushed open the heavy doors.
The audience rose to their feet immediately.
The sound was like a wave—a combination of applause, chair scraping, and the shuffle of bodies.
Camera flashes began their relentless assault, transforming the room into a strobe light of white and gold.
Bella stepped into the light.
Her voice was machinery-precise.
Every word had been selected with surgical care, pronounced with mechanical exactness.
National interest, cultural differences, and those meant music to the conservatives' ears.
But to herself, these words were betrayal.
"I regret to inform you," her voice echoed through the hall, "that our position on cooperation with the Northern Pack is unequivocal. Our primary obligation is to protect the Federation's traditions and identity. While we respect all civilized forms, we do not believe that establishing official relations with non-human entities is currently advisable."
She paused.
"Cultural differences are real. This is not prejudice—this is reality. We must acknowledge—" She stopped mid-sentence, as if the last word caught in her throat.
Her eye contact with the journalists flickered, broke, then resumed.
"—reality," she finished, and continued. "We must face reality."
In the back of the room, a conservative coalition member nodded with satisfaction.
Journalists raised their hands.
Bella pointed to one.
"Prime Minister, there have been rumors of confidential negotiations with the Northern Pack. Can you address this?"
"Absolutely not," Bella said sharply. "We do not believe direct official cooperation is in the Federation's current interests."
Another voice: "Does this mean the Federation will permanently refuse cooperation with werewolves?"
Bella tilted her head slightly.
She took a breath before answering. "We never say 'never.' But for the foreseeable future, our policy remains explicit."
Her eyes scanned the room, cataloging reactions.
Conservatives looked satisfied. Progressives looked disappointed. International media recorded every word.
Perfect political theater.
Perfectly dull theater.
Journalists began gathering their equipment.
Papers rustled.
Cameras were packed away.
Bella's shoulders sank.
She'd completed her performance.
CLICK!
The back doors of the conference hall opened.
Every head turned.
Bella's head rose.
Her expression changed instantly.
Kael Raven wore a charcoal-grey suit that spoke of European tailors and precision craftsmanship.
He walked in purposefully.
He was tall—taller than any normal human should be—his werewolf ancestry visible even in his human form.
His face had sharp angles, a jaw carved from granite. His eyes were storm-grey, currently sweeping across the conference hall like a general assessing battle terrain.
Five members of the Northern Pack delegation followed him.
"That's the Northern Pack Alpha!" a journalist screamed.
Every camera in the room swung toward them.
The hall erupted into chaos.
Camera flashes fell like violent rain.
Bella's hand gripped the podium's edge.
Her eyes widened.
Then her professional composure snapped back into place, the cold smile returning.
Kael moved through the crowd and stopped at the podium.
He then knelt before her.
It was the highest formal greeting of the Northern Pack—a gesture reserved only for those with supreme authority or those commanding deepest respect.
The hall fell silent.
Everyone held their breath.
Bella stared at the man kneeling before her, her heartbeat accelerating.
"Prime Minister," Kael's voice was low and resonant, captured perfectly by every microphone in the room, "I am Kael Raven, leader of the Northern Pack. I heard what you said about us just now. I find myself... particularly honored."
He looked up, meeting her eyes.
Bella's pupils dilated.
Kael rose to his feet and walked to the podium's central microphone.
"I am Kael Raven of the Northern Pack. I'm pleased to share some information with everyone gathered here."
He paused.
"The Prime Minister just mentioned cultural differences. I agree—cultural differences are real. But I believe something else is equally real: understanding."
His eyes swept across the crowd before settling on Bella.
"In fact, I have already received an invitation from Prime Minister Sterling to serve as her security advisor. I have accepted this invitation. And I've noticed that what the Prime Minister said here today is... quite different from what she told me one week ago."
The hall erupted again.
Camera flashes exploded.
Bella's face flushed, but she maintained her professional veneer.
"However, I understand the complexity of politics. This is why I believe our relationship—between the Northern Pack and the Federation—should be understood through a different framework."
He turned toward Bella, offering the highest formal bow.
"A family one."
He sat in the chair beside her and gave her a faint smile.
Bella looked at him, her eyes containing anger, surprise, and something else she wasn't quite acknowledging yet.
She turned toward Kael, a cold smile touching her lips.
"Kael," her voice was low, "I'm glad you came. Though the timing is... somewhat theatrical."
"I believe," Kael replied, his tone carrying an unfamiliar warmth, "that completely unexpected timing is most effective."
Bella looked toward the journalists.
She stood and moved to the center of the podium.
Her voice shifted—no longer the cold distance of power, but something more genuine breaking through, as if the mask had started to slip.
"I need to clarify something for everyone."
She paused.
"Kael Raven is like a brother to me," she said, looking directly at him. "Our relationship rests on mutual understanding, mutual respect, and a shared vision."
Her body moved before her mind could calculate the politics of proximity.
By the time she finished the sentence, the distance between them had narrowed.
Kael's eyes flickered.
Bella continued. "The relationship between the Federation and the Northern Pack will move forward under a new framework—'sibling diplomacy.'"
Conservative coalition members looked confused.
Progressive members began to smile.
"This is not merely political cooperation. This is a familial commitment between two civilizations." Bella stepped toward Kael once more and asked in a very formal tone.
"Kael, will you accept being 'brother' by the Federation's Prime Minister?"
Kael stood, his response equally formal. "I would be deeply honored."
He paused.
"Bella, you are the most intelligent leader I have ever met. I look forward to... working with you."
That pause.
That millisecond where his grey eyes locked onto hers with an intensity that seemed to contain entire conversations.
Bella's throat went dry.
She wanted to ask what he meant—what was hidden beneath those carefully chosen words.
She wanted answers.
She wanted distance.
She wanted both, and the contradiction steadied her nowhere.
"So do I," she said.
The hall descended into a new wave of controlled chaos.
Cameras flashed.
The iconic image was captured: The Prime Minister and the werewolf Alpha, standing side by side on the podium, like siblings bound by something neither of them fully understood.
Global media received the message in real time.

"What?" It was out of my mouth before I could stop it. I did not wait for him to answer me, I walked toward him.
"Dance on my lap."
My head screamed at me to turn around and run. But my whole body responded to his command.
"Yes, Alpha," I pulled my dress over my body, it dropped over my head and fell to the ground behind me. I was left in nothing but my matching bra and thong. My hands covered my chest on reflex.
"Let me see."
My hands dropped to my sides.
I lowered myself into his lap, facing him. His eyes peered into mine, and I could feel his hot breath fan my face. His dick responded to all my moves, hardening against my now-moist vagina. I swallowed hard, allowing my lips to part in a ragged breath. His hands trailed up to my waist.
"No touching."
