Riley · Completed · 204.2k Words
Introduction
Then a single marriage contract shattered my quiet life. To protect my family, I was forced to marry Alexander Kingsley—a tech mogul eight years my senior.
I naively thought we could at least coexist peacefully. Little did I know he'd already labeled me as a gold-digging opportunist, setting us on a collision course from day one.
Now trapped in the Kingsley family, I'm not just dealing with a cold husband. I'm also facing his vindictive sister-in-law Victoria and Karen—Alexander's longtime admirer who's determined to make me feel like an unwelcome intruder.
How can i survive in the Kingsley family......
Chapter 1
Charlotte Cole's POV:
The July sun beat down mercilessly on Palo Alto. I had barely stepped through my front door, not even having time to take off my shoes, when I noticed the strange tension in the air and the collection of exquisite gift boxes piled up in the living room.
"Mom? Dad? Why are there so many gifts in the house? What's going on?" I tossed my backpack onto the sofa and called out loudly.
My parents sat silently in the living room, their faces grave. My heart sank as I sensed something was about to happen.
"Sweetheart," my mother began cautiously, "we need to talk."
Twenty minutes later, I stared at my parents in disbelief, my voice rising with each word. "Dad, what are you saying? You want me to get married? Are you so broke that you're selling your daughter for status? Aren't you afraid of being despised by thousands? "
My mother, Elizabeth, displeased with my bluntness, gently patted my shoulder. "Calm down, dear. We called you home specifically to discuss this marriage proposal with you."
I pointed at the expensive gifts piled on the floor, fuming with anger. "Mom, you've already accepted these gifts and now you're telling me you want to 'discuss' it with me?"
I was just a sophomore in college. Summer vacation had barely begun, and before I could even enjoy it, my mother had summoned me home urgently with a phone call, only to inform me that someone had chosen me for marriage.
"Who?!" I asked, growing increasingly agitated.
"A prestigious Bay Area family, the second son of the Kingsley family—Alexander Kingsley."
Upon hearing this name, I froze as if struck by lightning and sat motionless on the sofa.
My parents exchanged worried glances, watching my reaction.
Mom tentatively continued, "Tomorrow, our families have agreed to sit down for a meal, get to know each other a little, and you—"
"Mom, let me process this." I cut her off, mechanically standing up and walking upstairs to my bedroom.
Alone, I collapsed onto my bed, tossing and turning, loudly venting my emotions.
The Kingsley family was a legendary presence in the San Francisco Bay Area—a dynasty with generations of business success. People often said, "One decision from the Kingsley family can shift the direction of the entire Silicon Valley." We couldn't possibly afford to offend such a powerful family.
Alexander was even more mysterious. Information about him was scarce; people only knew that he was the second son of the Kingsley family, 28 years old, and had never been photographed by the media. Rumors suggested he was hideously ugly, suffered from a terrible disease, which explained why he remained unmarried.
Thinking about this made me even more anxious. An arranged marriage was bad enough, but to a man 8 years older than me, who was supposedly ugly—nobody could accept that.
Looking across the entire Bay Area, I could find wiggle room with a proposal from any family, but not with the Kingsleys. I couldn't simply refuse them outright. Even someone as rebellious as me knew the Kingsley family was an untouchable boundary.
I rested my face in my hands, saying, "Why choose me? What should I do? Is there no other way? Do I have to marry him? He's so much older than me, while I'm just a student who doesn't want to enter the grave of marriage so early." I frowned deeply, grabbed a nearby pillow to cover my head, and sank into worry.
After a night of tossing and turning, I arrived at the agreed-upon restaurant the next day with a dramatically altered appearance.
I had carefully applied artificial red pimples all over my face, densely packed. When speaking, I deliberately emitted an unpleasant odor. My teeth were covered with brown stains, and I even created the illusion of missing teeth! A mismatched yellow silk scarf wrapped around my head, death-Barbie pink lipstick smeared across my lips, and my nail polish was even more garish—one red, one pink, one purple... ten fingers, ten different colors.
Overall, my appearance couldn't merely be described as unattractive or ugly—it was downright revolting!
At the appointed time, Mr. Richard and his butler arrived at the restaurant. I looked behind them to confirm no one else was coming.
My father stood up and somewhat awkwardly pointed at me as he introduced, "Mr. Richard, this is my daughter Charlotte."
The moment Richard Kingsley looked up at me, his pupils contracted sharply. He was clearly shocked by my appearance. He instinctively put on his glasses and photographed his butler to compare with the person standing before him.
In the photo, I had smiling eyes, a sweet face, and a charming appearance. He exchanged glances with his butler behind him, looking completely confused, seemingly unable to understand why the person before him had greasy hair, a face covered in red pimples, emitted a strange odor, and looked... so repulsive even ghosts would be disgusted.
I could almost guess Richard's thoughts—he was probably relieved that his son Alexander hadn't come. If he had, he would certainly have rejected this marriage.
"How is this so different from the photograph?" Richard unconsciously asked aloud.
I pretended to be timid, answering meekly, "The photo was heavily filtered. This is my real appearance."
I carefully observed Richard's expression and noticed the hesitation in his eyes. Inwardly, I rejoiced, knowing the Kingsley family couldn't accept someone like me.
My anxious parents, watching Richard's reaction, also seemed to think my strategy was effective.
So my father broke the silence first: "Mr. Richard, we deceived you with that photograph, and that's our fault. Perhaps we should call off this marriage, and I'll have all these exquisite gifts returned to the Kingsley residence immediately."
But Richard Kingsley unexpectedly replied, "That won't be necessary. I quite like this girl Charlotte."
"What?!" The three of us exclaimed simultaneously, incredulous.
I couldn't believe that my carefully designed repulsive appearance didn't bother Richard Kingsley at all and hadn't shaken his decision in the slightest. This broke our expectations and made me feel like a complete fool.

Entitled.
Delicate.

Still.
The image of her standing in the doorway, clutching her cardigan tighter around her narrow shoulders, trying to smile through the awkwardness, won’t leave me.
Neither does the memory of Tyler. Leaving her here without a second thought.
I shouldn’t care.
I don’t care.
It’s not my problem if Tyler’s an idiot.
It’s not my business if some spoiled little princess has to walk home in the dark.
I’m not here to rescue anyone.

Alpha Nicholas's Little Mate
What? No—wait… oh Moon Goddess, no.
Please tell me you're joking, Lex.
But she's not. I can feel her excitement bubbling under my skin, while all I feel is dread.
We turn the corner, and the scent hits me like a punch to the chest—cinnamon and something impossibly warm. My eyes scan the room until they land on him. Tall. Commanding. Beautiful.
And then, just as quickly… he sees me.
His expression twists.
"Fuck no."
He turns—and runs.

How Not To Fall For A Dragon
Which is why it was more than a little confusing when a letter arrived with my name already printed on a schedule, a dorm waiting, and classes picked out as if someone knew me better than I knew myself. Everyone knows the Academy, it’s where witches sharpen their spells, shifters master their forms, and every kind of magical creature learns to control their gifts.
Everyone except me.
I don’t even know what I am. No shifting, no magic tricks, nothing. Just a girl surrounded by people who can fly, conjure fire, or heal with a touch. So I sit through classes pretending I belong, and I listen hard for any clue that might tell me what’s hidden in my blood.
The only person more curious than me is Blake Nyvas, tall, golden-eyed, and very much a Dragon. People whisper that he’s dangerous, warn me to keep my distance. But Blake seems determined to solve the mystery of me, and somehow I trust him more than anyone else.
Maybe it’s reckless. Maybe it’s dangerous.
But when everyone else looks at me like I don’t belong, Blake looks at me like I’m a riddle worth solving.

A pack of their own
The Pack: Rule Number 1 - No Mates
"Let me go," I whimper, my body trembling with need. "I don't want you touching me."
I fall forward onto the bed then turn around to stare at him. The dark tattoos of Domonic's chiseled shoulders, quiver and and expand with the heave of his chest. His deep dimpled smile is full of arrogance as he reaches behind himself to lock the door.
Biting his lip, he stalks toward me, his hand going to the seam of his pants and the thickening bulge there.
"Are you sure you don't want me to touch you?" He whispers, untying the knot and slipping a hand inside. "Because I swear to God, that is all I have been wanting to do. Every single day from the moment you stepped in our bar and I smelled your perfect flavor from across the room."
New to the world of shifters, Draven is human on the run. A beautiful girl who no one could protect. Domonic is the cold Alpha of the Red Wolf Pack. A brotherhood of twelve wolves that live by twelve rules. Rules which they vowed could NEVER be broken.
Especially - Rule Number One - No Mates
When Draven meets Domonic, he knows that she is his mate, but Draven has no idea what a mate is, only that she has fallen in love with a shifter. An Alpha that will break her heart to make her leave. Promising herself, she will never forgive him, she disappears.
But she doesn’t know about the child she’s carrying or that the moment she left, Domonic decided rules were made to be broken - and now will he ever find her again? Will she forgive him?
The Human Among Wolves
My stomach twisted, but he wasn’t finished.
"You're just a pathetic little human," Zayn said, his words deliberate, each one hitting like a slap. "Spreading your legs for the first guy who bothers to notice you."
Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached — not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
I was so, so stupid.

Rise of the Banished She-Wolf
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.
Invisible To Her Bully
Falling For The Biker: The Vice President's Girl
His eyes darken, flicking to my mouth.
"It's wrong. Your brother would slit my throat for just standing this close. But tell me, little bird" his breath ghosts my skin, "are you trembling because you hate me… or because you've wanted this just as much as I have?"
Wren thought she'd buried the chaos of New Orleans for good—the clubs, the blood-soaked loyalties, the men who lived and died by their kuttes. Seattle gave her everything she ever wanted: freedom, love, a future.
But one betrayal shatters it all.
Dragged home by tragedy, Wren finds herself under the watchful eye of Ezra Jax—the Raven Reapers MC's vice president and her brother's best friend. He's infuriating, dangerous, and far too tempting for a man she should never touch.
And the deeper Wren is pulled back into his world, the more she realizes nothing about her past—or about Ezra—is what she believed.
In the chaos of gang wars, mounting debts, and old betrayals, he becomes the one constant. The more she fights him, the harder she falls. And the more he pushes her away, the more lethal his pull becomes.
Because in this world, love isn't sweet.
It's brutal. Bloody.
And it's bound to break them both.
When loyalty is everything and love can cost your life, will Wren risk her heart on the one man she was never meant to love?
