Lila Grace never imagined that one day she would have a whirlwind marriage.

And her whirlwind marriage partner was none other than Alexander Sinclair, CEO of a multinational corporation whose family background and status were worlds apart from hers.

At this moment, Alexander sat on the single sofa to her right front, radiating a suffocating coldness. His stunningly handsome face was dark and gloomy, his presence overwhelmingly oppressive.

He looked like a tiger ready to devour someone.

Alexander suddenly spoke, "This is a marriage of convenience. We don't interfere with each other. Let's establish three ground rules."

Lila obediently responded, "Go ahead."

"First, don't tell anyone outside that you know me, don't act like Mrs. Sinclair, and don't mention my name."

"Yes."

"Second, although Grandma wants us to live together, I will absolutely not have any inappropriate relationship with a woman who married in for money. So, you sleep in the guest bedroom."

Inappropriate?!

Lila released her grip on her clothes that she'd been nervously clutching and shot him a dissatisfied look, "Mr. Sinclair, I may have married up by marrying you, but do you have to be so harsh? I'm a perfectly respectable young woman. There's nothing inappropriate about me."

Alexander's gaze instantly turned icy, "Third, no talking back."

Lila lowered her head, grinding her teeth in frustration.

Why was Gaia Sinclair's supposedly filial and excellent grandson such a tyrant?!

She felt like she'd been tricked.

But her father, Axel Grace, had already avoided a heavy sentence thanks to Gaia's help and was only sentenced to just over a year. She couldn't go back on her word.

So now, it was too late for regrets.

Lila resignedly lifted her head, "I've noted all three points. Any other requirements?"

"Not for now."

"Alright, then I'll go tidy up my room."

Even though Lila had been so obedient, Alexander still looked displeased. Even his response to her was just two cold words, "Whatever."

With that, he closed his eyes, clearly conveying an "I don't want to see you" attitude.

Lila got up from the sofa.

Alexander was sitting on the single sofa to her right front, and the staircase was to his right rear.

Wanting to take a shortcut, Lila simply lifted her leg to step over one of his feet.

She made it over smoothly without being noticed, and felt secretly pleased. But as she was about to take her second step, her leg suddenly got caught, and her whole body fell forward uncontrollably.

Seeing she was about to fall, Lila instinctively screamed.

But then an arm suddenly appeared in front of her and caught her!

Lila turned her head to look, and a gloomy, extremely displeased face came into view.

Just as she was about to say "thank you," before the words could leave her mouth, she was violently thrown into the sofa.

Alexander's disdainful voice followed, "Don't try that throwing-yourself-at-me act with me. Even if you stripped naked and stood in front of me, I'd only find it disgusting!"

Lila looked at him in shock, thinking this man was absolutely ridiculous.

Who wanted to strip naked and stand in front of him?!

Where did this superiority complex come from?!

And Alexander's words were downright insulting!

Lila's indignant almond-shaped eyes glared at him, "Stop dreaming. Even if all the men in the world died out, I still wouldn't strip naked and stand in front of a horrible man like you!"

Alexander looked at her in surprise, his sinister eyes full of disbelief, "What did you just say?"
