Chapter 4 Baby's farther
Erin's POV:
"What happened?"
My voice trembled with uncontrollable fear.
The teacher's face was pale as she spoke nervously.
"A group of people just rushed into the classroom and grabbed Harrison to take him away. I tried to stop them, but they told me their boss only wanted to take his own child! I chased after them and saw them stuff Harrison into a car and drive away."
The teacher looked guilty and was almost crying.
I realized that the luxury cars I saw when I came in had Harrison inside!
Thinking of this, I turned around without hesitation and chased in the direction the cars had disappeared.
But there was no trace of the cars anymore.
Damn it! If I hadn't taken that always-late bus, maybe Harrison wouldn't have been taken!
Who could have taken Harrison?
The first thing I thought of was my family!
It must be Kai. He told them I was in this city and had given birth to a child!
With their capabilities, finding Harrison and taking him would be easy.
I immediately took out my phone and called my brother Leopold.
The moment the call connected, I couldn't help but question him.
"Brother, why did you take my child? I have nothing to do with the Perez family anymore. I just want to live quietly. Why are you doing this to me!"
Perhaps my voice was too broken, even carrying a sob. Leopold on the other end was silent for a long time.
"Child? What child? Erin, what are you talking about? After being out of contact for so long, your first call to me is an accusation?"
Leopold's tone was displeased and confused.
I was stunned. Leopold didn't know?
"Erin, speak! What child? Whose child? What exactly happened?"
Seeing I didn't respond, Leopold's voice became urgent.
I suddenly realized I had made a mistake.
Harrison wasn't taken by the family. And my panicked phone call had clearly exposed myself.
I quickly hung up, covered my head with both hands and crouched down. Regret and self-blame overwhelmed me. I was about to cry from my own stupidity!
The phone suddenly rang. It was Leopold.
Without thinking, I hung up directly and blocked him.
Everything happened too suddenly. I didn't even have time to think, and now I had completely exposed Harrison's and my existence.
Normally, I might have been able to take Harrison and move to another city to continue hiding from them.
But now Harrison had been taken. I had to stay here and call the police.
This way, the family would find this place soon.
I couldn't worry about that now. I had to find Harrison first.
Kingsley's POV:
I studied the boy in front of me across the coffee table. He had features identical to mine, except for those green eyes.
So his mother had green eyes?
Similarly, the little boy looked at me with curiosity, observing me intently.
"Are you my daddy?"
Despite his young age, he carried a composure that didn't match his years.
I raised an eyebrow. Interesting.
"Little one, in formal settings, you should address me as Don Baker." I nodded while coldly educating him.
Harrison tilted his head, seemingly thinking about what I said.
"However, in private, you can call me Papa." I changed my tone, though it remained cold and distant.
Harrison nodded thoughtfully and asked, "Are you in the mafia?"
"You know about the mafia?"
I was somewhat surprised. At such a young age, he knew quite a lot.
Harrison lifted his head and answered me with slight arrogance.
"Of course, I know about the Baker family. That's the most powerful family in the mafia!"
A trace of surprise flashed in my eyes. He was smarter than I imagined, actually knowing my identity?
Though considering he was my son and the future heir of the Baker family, it wasn't surprising he had some knowledge of his own family.
But I was still curious. At his age, he shouldn't be exposed to these things.
"How do you know this?" I asked.
"My mommy is a princess of the Perez family. Although mommy never talks to me about these things, I secretly learned about them."
Harrison's little face showed pride.
He got up and sat down beside me, lifting his head to continue observing me.
Although I had no feelings for him, perhaps it was the blood connection that made me not particularly repulsed by his sudden approach.
"Since you were able to find me, you must have investigated mommy and me. How could you not know this?"
Harrison pouted, dissatisfaction flashing in his eyes.
"Who taught you to talk to me like this?"
I narrowed my eyes with a warning look.
This child was smart, but his mother hadn't raised him well.
At least when facing his father, he didn't have proper manners!
Five years had passed. I could no longer remember her appearance from that night, but her scent and her alluring appearance in bed still lingered in my mind, captivating me.
Harrison showed no fear at my warning. Instead, he stiffened his neck and questioned me, "Why were you with my mommy in the first place?"
I was stunned.
My thoughts drifted back to five years ago.
Five years ago, my uncle Adrian was dissatisfied with my father being the heir. When grandfather died, he allied with other families to kill my parents.
I was also captured. To humiliate me, that old pervert Thomas didn't kill me but wanted to sell me as a hustler.
To make me obedient, he even drugged me. I fought with all my strength to escape.
To avoid them, I hid in a hotel room and accidentally encountered Harrison's mother.
Harrison's existence was an accident.
I only discovered him this year and brought him back.
"Adult matters. Why should a child ask so many questions?"
I didn't plan to explain so much to him.
"You and mommy both treat me like a child, thinking I don't know anything, but I understand clearly. It was just a one-night stand!"
I frowned. Is this how the Perez family educated children?
"Alright, since we've met, I should go back now. Mommy will worry if she can't find me!" Harrison stood up and said to me seriously, "Please take me back. Thank you."
It seemed he had a good relationship with his birth mother, but he was the future heir of the Baker family. I couldn't let him continue staying with that woman.
"You can't go back anymore."
Harrison's face changed. He immediately turned and ran toward the exit.
I reached out and grabbed his arm, pulling him back.
"Let me go!"
Harrison realized I wasn't joking and immediately panicked, shouting loudly.
His resistance had no effect on me. I handed him over to the nanny.
"Take him upstairs. Lock him up for two days and he'll behave."
"You're a bad person! Let me go back. When my mommy comes looking, she won't let you get away with this!" Harrison struggled and shouted in the nanny's arms.
That woman who worked as an ordinary trainer at the riding club?
Even her family couldn't compete with me.
