The Don's Secret Wife: Too Late to Claim Us
Daisy Swift · Completed · 8.4k Words
Introduction
On the day I gave birth to his heir, Rhys Calloway didn't even glance at the bassinet. The ruthless Don of the Calloway Syndicate simply had a soldier place the child in my arms before walking out, eager to return to the violence of his empire.
But tonight, the ice finally broke. His former fiancée—the woman he had actually intended to crown—was returning from Europe.
Rhys came home reeking of aged bourbon, his dark eyes glassy with a terrifying euphoria. For the very first time, he actually scooped our son into his arms, a rare, chilling laugh vibrating in his chest.
Startled, Leo clung to the broad shoulders of the man he was forbidden to claim as a father.
He looked down at me, his voice a terrified whisper in the cavernous foyer.
"Mama, what's wrong with him? Why is Sir acting like this?"
I knelt, gently pulling my son from Rhys's slackening grip.
"The woman he truly loves is coming home, baby," I whispered, fighting the sting of tears. "Which means our time here is up. We have to pack."
Chapter 1
My husband doesn't love me. He cares even less for the boy who carries his blood.
We have to pack."
...
After putting Leo to bed, I retreated to my room. I locked the door, opened my laptop, and began drafting the divorce papers.
This year marked our seventh anniversary. Seven years of a ghost marriage, unacknowledged by the Capos, hidden from the allied families. Seven years of sleeping in separate wings of his fortress.
Tonight, the illusion shattered entirely. I was finally ready to sever the tie.
A soft knock pulled me from the glow of the screen.
The door crept open, revealing my seven-year-old son. He was clutching a airplane model to his chest, his eyes wide and shimmering with unspoken grief.
"Mama, do we really have to leave the territory?" he asked, stepping into the room. "But... he held me tonight. Doesn't that mean he's starting to want me around?"
I froze. A phantom ache gripped my chest.
In the seven years we had survived in this stronghold, Rhys had never permitted Leo to call him Father.
When Leo was two, Rhys dragged him along to inspect a shipment at the docks. Surrounded by hardened lieutenants and dock workers, my baby boy had stumbled forward and joyfully babbled the word "Papa."
The silence that followed was lethal. Rhys's jaw locked. He coldly set the toddler down on the unforgiving, splintered wooden planks of the pier and ordered him to walk the two miles back to the car on his own. By the time I reached my son, his palms and knees were stripped of skin, bleeding onto the gravel.
When Leo turned four, he begged for months until Rhys finally agreed to take him to the Feast of San Gennaro—a street festival heavily guarded by our soldiers. In the suffocating crowd, Leo, overwhelmed by the chaos, instinctively reached up, grasped Rhys's hand, and cried out for his "Dad."
Rhys didn't yell. He merely uncurled his fingers, letting go. He left a four-year-old boy stranded in a dangerous, shifting mob of strangers. When the enforcers finally found him an hour later, Leo was huddled behind a vendor's tent in a dark alley, hyperventilating, his face stained with dirt and tears.
Since that day, my son learned the unforgiving law of survival in the Calloway empire: he addressed his father only as Sir. Our existence in this estate wasn't a family; it was a lingering, pathetic joke to the men who guarded us.
Thinking of those scars, I felt a familiar, suffocating sorrow. I pulled Leo against me, burying my face in his shoulder.
"Leo, sweetheart... the woman he always meant to put a ring on is coming home. We can't overstay our welcome in his territory anymore."
The light drained from Leo's eyes. Desperation seized him as he shoved the airplane model directly into my line of sight.
"But look! He gave me this tonight. If he doesn't want me, why would he give me a gift?"
His face was twisted in a desperate plea. He was begging me to validate the one thing he craved more than air—the approval of the Don, the love of a father.
I opened my mouth, but the words turned to ash in my throat.
What could I possibly say? How could I tell him that Rhys was only generous tonight because his blood was singing with the thought of another woman's return? How could I explain that this discarded trinket was merely the collateral damage of a man intoxicated by the ghost of his past, not a symbol of paternal love?
I couldn't.
I pressed a kiss to his forehead, subtly turning my face away to wipe a stray tear before it could fall.
This was the curse of a mother in the underworld—maintaining a devastating facade, even as your own heart was being carved out.
Forcing a gentle, steady smile, I looked into his eyes.
"Leo... if I asked you to leave this estate with me, away from his men, away from him... would you come?"
Leo went rigid. He looked down, his voice barely a breath.
"Do we have to disappear forever?" he asked. "I haven't... I haven't ever been allowed to call him Dad out loud yet."
The dam broke. I bit down hard on my lower lip to muffle a sob, tasting copper.
"Leo, please understand. He... he doesn't want our bloodline tied to his legacy. Let me take you away. Let me keep you safe. Please."
Leo slowly pulled the plane back, pressing the metal against his chest.
"Three chances," Leo finally whispered, his tone suddenly devoid of the desperate child he had been moments ago. "I want to give him three more chances. If... if he proves he really doesn't want us, then we vanish. And we never come back."
I closed my eyes. I nodded, locking away the last remnants of my naive hope.
"Okay."
"Three chances, Rhys." I stared blankly at the dark window, speaking to the shadows of his empire. "My son and I will give you three more chances."
"And when you burn through them, you will never find us again."

Letters to a Dark Prince
Thrown into Isteros Academy—a world of old money, blood money, and cruel social games—she's an outsider by birth and an afterthought by design. Her sister Solyn is the school's untouchable queen and Mara is her favorite target.
Everyone expects Atreus to treat his fiancée’s scholarship sister like everyone else does—as if she doesn’t matter.
Instead, his dorm room sits directly across from hers, close enough that she can see his light go out at night. Some nights, he climbs the old maintenance trellis just to check on her. He teaches her chess. He shows up exactly when something's gone wrong—and never once asks to be thanked for it.
"Don't fall in love with one piece," he warns her, over a board neither of them treats like a game anymore. "It punishes the person who only sees half of it."
Mara doesn't understand why the boy who's supposed to make her life harder keeps quietly making it easier—not until she realizes the anonymous stranger she's been writing to every week already has a name.
His.
He doesn't know he's writing to her, either.
By the time they find out, it's too late to stop what's already happening. Far too dangerous for anyone to find out.
In an empty studio, in the middle of a rainstorm, she asks him: 'Am I the kind of girl who kisses a boy engaged to my sister?'
He doesn't answer.
So she asks: 'What are we?’
He told her not to fall in love with one piece.
She fell anyway.
And he was never far behind.

There’s just one problem: his clan betrothed him to a Shaman’s daughter.
I tell myself it's purely political. I tell myself his heart is mine.
Until tonight.
He sneaks into the woods for me. We share a deep, hungry kiss under the moonlight.
But as I pull back, my blood runs cold.
Right there, on the neck of the man I just risked my soul to save...
Is a fresh, undeniable bite mark.

Love's Deadly Equation
I was sent to her.
To watch her. To protect her. And, when the order comes… to kill her.
My name is Keegan Caffery. I’m the Carter Mafia’s best hitman. I don’t miss. I don’t fail.
At least, I didn’t use to.
I don’t know what it is about her that got to me first—her mouth, her mind, or the way she looks at me like I’m not what she should fear.
I’ve had a gun to her head since I walked into her life.
She knows it.
And she still doesn’t run.
She just watches me back like she’s studying a problem she refuses to call impossible.
She’s the one variable I can’t control.
And God help me… I don’t want to.
I have an order. I have loyalty. I have a trigger.
But every time I imagine it—
I can’t stand it.
Her or me. That’s the math.
It’s a deadly equation I don’t want to solve.
⬥ Maisie ⬥
I’m not ordinary. I stopped pretending long ago.
My name is Maisie Seo. IQ 145. Clinical genius.
Which sounds impressive until you realize what it actually means: I don’t fit anywhere people expect me to.
I see patterns everywhere. Outcomes before they happen. People like equations I’ve already solved.
It gets lonely in a world you’ve already figured out.
So I dull myself down. Smoke the edges off. Pretend, badly, to be the kind of normal that lets people stay.
Then he walked in.
I knew what he was immediately. Dangerous. Intentional. Wrong in all the right ways.
I should be afraid of him.
I keep waiting for that to kick in.
Instead, I’m fascinated.
Because for the first time in my life… I’ve found something I can’t solve.
He is my deadly equation.

CHASING GHOSTS
My Billionaire Husband's Secret
He was the CEO of the Blackwood Group — a man whose wealth and power eclipsed ninety-nine percent of the world.
He was gentle. Romantic. Attentive. I fell for him fast.
But a year into our marriage, I began to notice something — a pattern.
Lucas's sexual appetite was intense — he wanted me almost every night. Yet every single month, he arranged a solo trip to send me away. I told myself it was his way of spoiling me.
Then a message arrived from someone called Sweet An.
Do you really know your husband?
From that day on, my life filled with shadows.
I suspected my husband of having an affair.
When Lucas and I made love, something felt wrong — his body too large, too much, like something I couldn't explain.
I heard sounds during sex — animal sounds, like something feral had crawled into bed with us.
My best friend Mia said: "There are men sick enough to let dogs fuck their wives."
The family doctor, Daisy, told me: "You could never stay by Lucas's side forever. Your background doesn't make you worthy of being his wife. Do you understand?"
I went looking for whoever had been tearing my marriage apart. I fought to win my husband back.
But the deeper I searched, the larger the secret grew — something far darker hiding beneath this supposed betrayal.
Does Lucas truly love me?
And why, out of everyone in the world, did he choose to marry me?
BROKEN TRUST
Neither of them knew she was carrying his child.
Emily’s affair didn’t just end her marriage—it erased the life she thought was guaranteed. Ryan left without looking back, carrying his anger like armor and leaving Emily alone with regret she would never outrun. Three years later, fate drags them back into each other’s world, along with a little girl who has Ryan’s eyes and a truth that shatters everything he thought he knew.
Old wounds reopen, grief masquerades as rage, and love refuses to stay buried. As parenthood binds them together and the past demands accountability, Emily and Ryan must face the question neither of them is ready to answer: is broken trust the end of their story… or the beginning of a love forged through loss, forgiveness, and brutal honesty?
Bloodright
Ashveil University is not what it looks like in the photographs. The students here carry something that shifts their eyes at the edges of anger. The northwest trees hold an attention that trees should not be able to hold. And the empty chair at the council table, the one nobody sits in, the one nobody explains, has been waiting three hundred years for one specific person to arrive.
Nobody told Adaline she was that person. They classified her as Dormant. A blank space in a file. Nothing.
She is the opposite of nothing.
Beneath the campus, three ancient entities are waking up. Every house in the pack world wants to control what runs in her blood. The boy sent to assess her has stopped being able to do his job. And the woman who has been three steps ahead of everyone since before Adaline was born is not a villain. She is a warning. She is what Adaline would have become if nobody had found her.
The suppression field holding everything together is failing. The clock is running. And the only way to stop what is coming requires Adaline to give up the thing she can least afford to lose.
She already knows her answer. She decided before anyone told her the full price.

Vivian had divorced him.
She had disappeared with his unborn child.
And she had no intention of coming back.
Five years later, the former ballerina returned as the sole heiress of a powerful family.
Standing beside her was a little girl with eyes identical to Caden Lux's.
The billionaire who once ignored her had gone mad.
He blocked her in the dressing room, knelt before her, and even accepted the possibility that another man had taken his place.
Because losing his pride was nothing.
Losing Vivian had nearly killed him.
But after everything he had done…
Could she ever forgive the man who chose another woman over his own wife?
Taste of Fate: The Vampire King's Human Mate
He reached for the back of my head and pulled me up just enough to reach my neck. When his fangs slid into me, the pain was instant, electric. I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t think. My hands found his shoulders, clawing for something to hold. My legs kicked. Tears streamed down my cheeks.
He moaned against my throat as he drank, and the sound was devastating.
