Chapter 5 Emily’s Whereabouts
Merlin felt completely bewildered.
Oh my God, what am I seeing?
The boss of Blackwater mercenaries is actually submitting to Wayne!
Isn't Wayne just an ordinary person? How did he pull this off?
"What a good dog, knows who's the best master to choose."
Wayne patted Aaron's head as if he really were a dog.
"Now, I'm giving you your first task - get Jenny and Emily's whereabouts out of Merlin's mouth."
Aaron walked toward Merlin with a cruel smile on his face. "Merlin, I remember you have quite a collection of fine wine in your cellar. How about we go down there and chat over drinks?"
Merlin's face looked terrible. He gritted his teeth and glared at Aaron and Wayne.
The leader of Blackwater mercenaries, a guy who acts like a mad dog, actually chose to submit to this trash Wayne.
"Look at that, what kind of look is that? How dare you glare at me." Aaron's smile grew wider as he grabbed Merlin by the hair and dragged him outside.
Wayne turned to look at the people attending the banquet. "Ladies and gentlemen, tonight's dinner ends here. Time for you to leave."
In an instant, both Blackwater mercenaries and Predatory Eagles pointed their guns at them.
These people were already scared out of their wits. They had no desire to stay and scrambled out of there.
"Morrison, time to get to work." Wayne turned to Morrison. "Search this place thoroughly."
He didn't trust Merlin's words. Only clues he found himself would be reliable.
Morrison nodded. "Boss, don't worry. I'll turn this entire estate upside down."
Soon, the Predatory Eagles began their search.
Ten minutes later, Morrison walked out with a grim expression.
"Boss, no leads at all."
They'd even checked the mouse holes, but there wasn't a single piece of information about Emily and the others.
Wayne said nothing, just stood up and walked toward the wine cellar.
Inside the cellar, Aaron was playing with a dagger, having just pried off another of Merlin's fingernails. "Merlin, I think you should make the right choice. Your fingernails are gone, next will be your pinky finger."
Merlin's face was dark, his eyes filled with madness and fury. "Aaron, you think you can get information out of me? That's laughable."
Aaron's hand moved quickly. In just one breath, the dagger pierced through Merlin's finger and embedded into the chair.
The intense pain made cold sweat break out on Merlin's forehead. His eyes rolled back and he passed out on the spot.
"Mr. Bruce, what brings you here?" Aaron looked at Wayne, whose body radiated terrifying killing intent, feeling even more certain about his choice.
"How's it going?" Wayne asked.
Aaron shook his head. "His mouth is tougher than I thought. Getting useful information out of him will be difficult."
Just then, urgent footsteps came from upstairs.
Morrison rushed into the cellar. "Boss, we've got something!"
"According to the surveillance footage, there seems to be traces of them here, in this shipping container."
As soon as Morrison finished speaking, he saw a fast-moving figure rush past him.
"Continue the interrogation. Wait for me to get back."
Wayne left those words and disappeared from his sight.
Wayne ran out of the Bruce Villa, got on his motorcycle, and sped off at 180 mph.
In just ten minutes, he went from the Bruce Villa to the East Harbor port.
The port was stacked with many shipping containers, with night shift workers still around.
"Fuck, you guys be careful. This is very special cargo. If you dare damage it, watch out for your lives."
A bald middle-aged man sat in front of the warehouse drinking, yelling at several dock workers in front of him.
But just as he finished speaking, he saw a motorcycle speeding toward them.
"Who are you? How dare you barge in here!" The middle-aged man raised his handgun, pointing it at Wayne's head and shouting.
But before his finger could touch the trigger, he found the gun had been snatched away and was now pointing at him.
"Let's—let's talk this through." The man quickly raised his hands. "Respected sir, you can take anything here. We'll pretend we saw nothing."
Wayne pulled out his phone and found the photo Morrison had sent him. "Tell me, where is this shipping container!"
"It's—it's in the very back."
As soon as he finished speaking, Wayne was already running to the back.
He quickly found a black shipping container. Without hesitation, he grabbed a tool from nearby and pried open the container.
Inside the box, a woman in gorgeous clothing was curled up in the corner.
Her face was a masterpiece of God's creation - anyone who saw it would look twice.
But on her face was terror and helplessness.
"Emily." Wayne's anxious heart finally settled as he rushed over to hold her.
Emily was startled by the sudden embrace and instinctively tried to struggle.
But Wayne's grip was too strong - she couldn't break free.
In her panic, she bit down hard on Wayne's shoulder.
The intense pain didn't make Wayne let go. Instead, he spoke in a very gentle tone: "Emily, it's me, Wayne. It's okay now, everything's okay."
Hearing this familiar voice and name, Emily clearly froze. "Wayne, you're back?"
"Yes, I'm back. Everything will be fine." Wayne comforted Emily. "Where's Jenny now? I'll take you both home together."
Hearing Jenny's name, Emily's anxiety immediately showed. "Wayne, please save Jenny. Merlin sent her somewhere else."
"Don't worry, I'll find her. Even if I have to turn all of Texas upside down, I'll bring her back." Wayne patted Emily's back, but his eyes were very dark.
"You must—find Jenny—"
Perhaps too exhausted, Emily's voice grew weaker and weaker, and she passed out.
"Rest well. When you wake up, our family will be reunited."
Only after Emily fell into a deep sleep did his killing intent resurface.
He wanted to see who had the guts to covet his daughter.
"Boss, we're here."
Behind him, Morrison and the others rushed over. Seeing Emily, they also breathed a sigh of relief. "Looks like you succeeded."
Wayne picked up Emily, his eyes full of killing intent. "Morrison, notify all Predatory Eagles members to lock down the entire port. Control all transportation hubs too. I want to find Jenny's whereabouts."
"Yes!"
Morrison nodded immediately. He could feel the powerful aura emanating from Wayne.
This was their boss, the world's overlord!
"Also spread the word - if anyone dares to hide Jenny or shelter those people, they're making an enemy of the Predatory Eagles!"
